I am really tempted to come up with my own fantasy religion and chuck it into the Harry Potter rewrite but at the same time, I know it’s going to create a lot of plot holes and/or complications that can be avoided if I just follow the Pagan traditions and beliefs. Ugh.
Have you ever considered just writing your own stuff rather than plagiarizing someone else's
I do write my own stuff, I just write fanfic on my spare time (which is a lot, these days). Also, as much as I hate it, credit for the HP series is still going to be given to her so I don’t get sued :)
I meant the first Wizarding War! He was born 22 August 1976, and the war ended around 1981, so he'll have been a child back then
Oh shit, you’re right! I completely forgot that he must’ve been born during the first war. In that case, I think you might be onto something🤔
I’m gonna be really honest and say I don’t remember following you, but I’m also a masochist and I don’t want to unfollow.
1. James Potter
Steps:
Get a white sheet
Cut eyes and a mouth into it
Put it over your head
It should turn out a little bit like this:
Failing that, you could also buy a skeleton costume and wear that. You will still look like James Potter!
Also, probably the best thing about this costume, it will also work if you want to be one of the following characters:
Remus Lupin
Sirius Black
Regulus Black
Lily Evans
Cedric Diggory
Nymphadora Tonks
Marlene McKinnon
Dorcas Meadowes
Fred Weasley
Colin Creevey
For the rewrite thing, can you please show a Hermione & Luna friendship instead of what they had in canon?
Definitely! I always thought Hermione and Luna could’ve balanced each other out so well.
I want to change the way the girls viewed each other in the books. Fleur is no longer going to be hated on for being feminine. Cho (whose name I’m planing to change) will not be made fun of for grieving her dead boyfriend. And so many other things.
What you said about Percy following the rules is exactly what I had in mind.
Also, yes! Percy’s own father works at the Ministry, and I’m sure he must’ve been in awed every time Arthur returned home exhausted after a day of dealing with post-war problems.
I think Percy was a quite child - I love the older two, but I don't connect with their stories as much - because of the war. And nobody minded. Being quiet meant he could hide, being quiet meant he wasn't a liability. But then the war ended, and people saw him as weird.
Honestly, I agree. Being quiet isn’t a flaw or a liability. However, from what I understand, Percy was already thought of as weird since way before the war. There’s a lot of moments in the books where people mock him (mostly the twins). I think it wasn’t until after the war that people started trying to understand him.
Hari raised by Wolfstar :D
Hi, Anon! Thank you for voting! I’ll add it to my chart. Also, loved that you used Hari’s Indian name💜
I wanted to take the chance to also thank everyone who’s been voting, please keep them coming! The vote won’t end until I’ve finished (or mostly finished) my Marauders’ era part of the rewrite. If you’ve got any comments or questions about it, please let me know!
For anyone that’s wondering what the vote is about, you can go ahead and see it here!
Really, JKRoach used werewolves to represent AIDS, which comes off as homophobic because we’re talking about people who mostly target children to infect them. And since AIDS has been thought of as an illness transmitted through sex, and a lot of people didn’t do anything about it for a long time because it was killing off the gays, well. They only moved to find a cure when they realized that straight people were also getting sick from AIDS, too.
But mostly, I was referring to how she said werewolves aren’t affected by silver and such, but she can’t tell me what to do so my werewolves are affected to silver lol
Am I throwing whatever JKRoach wrote about werewolves out the window for the sake of my fic? Yes, yes I am.
okay guys send my any pairing and ill answer
ps. i tried to tag all the main fandoms im in but you can send ships that arent in the tags
Can people please shut the fuck up about how “shipping every male character is harmful to the male friendship representation”
Literally almost every single peace of media has platonic male friendships in it and almost none of them ends up in a canon relationship. So there IS representation. Some people shipping those characters don’t take away their canon friendship.
And it doesn’t only happen to the male friendships. Every close female and male/female friendship you see on screen will always have people shipping them.
Because guess what? That’s how fandoms work. It doesn’t only happen with male friendships.
Are we really ignoring all the people who assume every man and woman who breaths the same air are canonically in love with each other? But somehow it’s only a problem when queer people do it.
Are we really ignoring how we get so little male/female friendships in media without writers turning it romantic at some point?
But we never get to see two close male leads of an action movie kissing at the end do we? So shut up about “friendship representation” You have tons of platonic friendships.
And the thing is, a lot of people who say this don’t even care about platonic friendships or mlm fetishization by straight girls. They’re just trying to find a way to put queer ships down. They never say “I think this two specific characters are good friends so I don’t like it when people ship them”
Instead, it’s always “these characters showed a little pinch of interest to opposite gender so they’re straight. just let people be friends and stop making everything gay”
Because they’re not actually mad about people shipping two close friends together. They’re mad about people offering the possibility of some fictional characters not being straight
