I’m going to make it into a College AU type of thing, hope you don’t mind.
SIRIUS BLACK would most likely be some kind of History major, but focused on Queer History that past historians had tried to play off as them being “best friends”, “brothers”, and such. Sirius would also perhaps have a minor in English/Creative Writing because I love the idea of him using his discoveries as a historian to write heart-wrenching love stories.
REMUS LUPIN would be studying to become a Conservation Biologist. He’s just so passionate about animals finding homes and saving them from extinction, he feels like it’s his destiny. Would also most likely write books about it and write popular essays on everything he knows and how he thinks people can improve these endangered animals’ quality of life. Remus would most likely relate to Lily the most.
JAMES POTTER would be either studying to become some kind of doctor, or to become a professional coach of some sport like football (what Americans call soccer), there’s no in-between for me. He’d be really passionate about it either way, and would be found staying up all night studying.
PETER PETTIGREW would definitely be an Arts major, although he wouldn’t want to be stuck in one branch of art. He would probably try all different kinds of arts before he even thought about favoring one. I just picture paint stains on his clothes and a mixture of ink and charcoal staining his hands.
LILY EVANS would probably study to become a Botanist, which would awaken her inner environmentalist. I really think she’d go on long rants about how plants are dying and animals are going extinct and now we’re all being deep-fried by the sun because of global warming. She and Remus would almost always be caught talking about these things.
REGULUS BLACK would a scientist of some sort, maybe a chemist. He’s a man of science and loves math by extension. He’s so sirius serious about his academics and goals.
what do y’all think would have been the marauders favourite subject if they went to like muggle school?
Were the Marauders really that popular?
NOTE: I can go more into spoil-free details on my headcanons for them, you just have to ask :)
TW:// contains brief mentions of abuse, mental health issues, mild swearing, smoking, brief mentions of homophobia, racism, ableism, transphobia. I think that’s about it.
I’m writing this long-ass Wolfstar fan fiction and based on my personal headcanons, here’s the answer:
Yes and No.
In my fanfic, and the way that I always see them in my head, we have an Indian (Gujarat) James Potter who’s stupidly in love with a plus-sized, snarky Lily Evans.
We have a half-Japanese, genderqueer and gay Sirius Black who’s well known for being a blood-traitor ever since their second year, not to mention that they’ve been leaving people awe-struck every single time she feels like a girl and dresses in a feminine way. They’re also deaf in one ear. He suffers from panic attacks and childhood PTSD. NOTE: His family dynamic slightly changes to fit the story. They’re still from an abusive home, but there’s a lot more to it than just that. Sirius’ relationship with his parents - particularly her mother - will be brought up and explained.
We have a heavily-accented Welsh Remus Lupin, who’s scrawny and awkwardly tall that lowkey scares the shit out of everyone. He knits, but his scars and unpredictable aggressiveness that comes near full moons is enough to keep people away. He’s unlabebed but madly in love with Sirius. He’s also depressed, anxious, has low self-esteem, and daddy issues. Also, I made sure to bring up his relationship with his mother because I just love Hope Lupin and I just think she’d be an awesome mom.
We also have Peter Pettigrew, who’s known for his fierce protectiveness for his younger sister, Jess (she’s a Slytherin, btw). He also probably has black lungs with the amount of cigarettes he smokes daily - he’s the reason why so many people even got cigarettes. He comes from a home where his parents are constantly at each other’s throats, so he’s never been able to see what love is supposed to look like when it’s healthy, but he’s working on that with a special Fem!OC. He’s depressed, has low self-esteem, and is constantly looking for someone to love him and prove himself to.
As mentioned before, Lily Evans is a snarky, plus-sized queen. She’s also really fucking hilarious and has so many awesome prank ideas once she befriends the Marauders. She also befriends Regulus, and their dynamic is the absolute cutest. She likes the academic side of school, but it’s not the center of her world, leave that to James. She likes sneaking around with her friends at night just for the heck of it, she’s never been caught.
Marlene McKinnon is a trans woman who’s basically a lesbian version of Sirius Black. She was actually the fifth roommate of the Marauders’ until her third year. She’s always baking but Merlin save you if you piss her off or any of her friends. She’s one of the best Beaters and duelist Hogwarts has seen. She and Sirius are the definition of platonic soulmates.
Dorcas Meadowes is a chaotic bisexual and also a raging feminist and activist that a lot of people don’t like because she’s “hard to talk to”. She’s loud, and bold, and constantly holding meetings with staffs so that they can improve the school to make it a safer environment for POCs students (and staff, too), LGBTQ+ folks, women, and literally every other minority.
Mary MacDonald is a Korean ballerina who’s been on a violent streak ever since that group of Slytherins cornered her and...did some...things to her (it’ll be explained in the story, don’t worry).
SO. Yes they were popular, but not in the way this fandom usually portrays them. They’re very well-known because they’re such an odd group filled with every possible outcast you could think of. Some of them (James, Lily, Peter, and Mary) are liked, but the rest are either feared or hated. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a lot of people who genuinely like all of them and think them fun to be around, but Sirius, Remus, Marlene, and Dorcas are walking Change-That-They’re-Not-Ready-For and for a school that has so many homophobics, racists, ableists, and transphobics, it’s a struggle.
BONUS:
Regulus is a half-Japanese, Hemophiliac Slytherin baby. (For those who don’t know, Hemophilia is a blood clot disorder that causes spontaneous bleeding and also excessive bleeding when injured - a lot of European royals have historically had this as a result of inbreeding). He would meet his brother and friends in secret just so that they could preserve their relationship. Regulus actually loved the Marauders & Co. and vice versa. There’s more but I don’t wanna spoil too much. I just love him.

I have like 5 followers but all 5 followers deserve to know they’re valid and loved. I fucking love you guys.
People, please be careful. There are also people tracking children and people and putting bids on them based on their profile pictures on whatsapp, tracking and kidnapping them. Especially young children, so please be cautious, especially parents who have their children as their profile pictures.
Please pass this on to everyone so that they are aware of the danger. I don’t how it is all around the world but I know it can’t just be here so please please spread the word. Thank you.
Hello everyone!
My name is MG Soto, and I’ve been writing a very long Wolfstar fan fiction for about five years - it’s mostly detailing and outlining, so I still have to do the actual writing. It all really started shortly after reading PoA and I just honestly fell in love with the very few details we were given of the Marauders’ lives.
I don’t, in any way, support JKRoach - but I am a strong believer that one can separate the art from the artist.
Anyways, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in reading it. It’ll be from 1971-1981; so basically, I’ll be taking everyone on a special journey throughout their years at Hogwarts and the few years before the end. I have a couple of twists up on my sleeve, which I’m very excited about.
Under the cut are some important headcanons I’ll be using throughout the story:
1. Remus is an avid reader but not the best student when it came to academics - this comes from the tendency to procrastinate a lot as well as always being out with friends causing mayhem, as you do.
2. Remus has issues with his father, because I just really don’t think Lyall Lupin is just going to forget his strong hatred/ignorance towards werewolves just because his son is one. I think there is so much more we can unpack in their relationship.
1. Sirius was not automatically okay with being a Gryffindor despite his entire family being Slytherins; it takes him at least a year to warm up to his roommates and the other House-mates.
2. Sirius is the one that keeps his part of the room neat, has pretty handwriting, turns in most of the work on time and checks his friends’ work for grammar errors. You can’t grow up in a household where your parents are constantly drilling their expectations in your head and then leave it all behind overnight.
1. James is a POC, Indian, to be specific. His parents are immigrants who had done everything they could in order to get a better life, they try to teach James as much as possible about his culture and language, so that he never forgets.
2. James is the one that makes sure his friends have completed all of their schoolwork before they can even think about having fun. He’s not about to let them fall behind just because they weren’t responsible.
1. Peter is an actual member of the Marauders. He has his positive and negative traits just like every other character. He falls in love, has his hobbies, and his own friends that are not James, Remus, and Sirius. He’s a person.
2. Peter has a younger sister, which he would do any and everything for. He’s very protective of her, and is willing to do just about anything to keep her safe.
1. Lily will be an accurately represented plus-sized character. She’ll have her confidence, but also her insecurities like every other skinny or fat girl. Being fat will not be her only character trait, but it’ll be brought up enough to show what it means to be anything but skinny in this society.
2. She’s not going to be a complete stuck-up. I’ve always hated it so much when they showed her like that, honestly, and so I decided that she can be fun and funny too.
1. She’s a transgender woman. She’s incredibly badass, but also sensitive. She’s my baby, I’ve worked so hard on her (the amount of trans women who’ve helped me is ridiculous, I love them all).
2. She was the Marauders’ fifth roommate, and she is also Sirius’ platonic soulmate. Their friendship’s so pure.
1. Mary MacDonald
2. Dorcas Meadowes
3. Severus Snape (not a main character, but an important one)
4. Three (3) OCs
That is all that comes to mind! I’ll be posting the story on AO3 and on Wattpad once I’m done. I’ll be using this account to update everyone on the process (It’s mostly done, but I’m hoping that you guys will help me push through so that I can finish it). Let me know if there are any questions, suggestions, or comments!
To the moon and the stars,
MG Soto
Why is it always ‘queer people are projecting their identities onto characters’ and never ‘straight people are presuming that their identity is the default’?
When I was in third grade, my mother decided that I should join ballet as a way to keep me distracted from what was happening with the divorce of my parents. I’m not sure what exactly made her think I would be interested in such a thing, back then I hated looking feminine in any way - and I mean it in a I-would-cry-and-throw-a-tantrum kind of way. But she did, and she dragged me along to every store that sold uniforms and ballet shoes and hair accessories and such, very much to my dismay.
It was odd though, I frowned and whined throughout the entire process...until I was pushed into the classroom for beginner ballerinas. I don’t know what it was that stunned me into silence, maybe it was the fact that the teacher was so magnificently beautiful and I was too gay to deal with it; perhaps it was the amount of girls thrown in one room, all giggling and chatting away like a group of best friends even though the majority had only just met. All I know is that I loved the athmosphere around me.
The ballet instructor, Miss Vazquez, was the sweetest woman I had every met, bless her soul. I was socially anxious, clumsy, and all-around awkward, but she didn’t let it stop her from patiently teaching me how to dance. I mean, to this day I have two left feet, but back then I had absolutely no body coordination. Still, each time I came remotely close to doing something right she would cheer and celebrate it like I was showing enough promise to become the next ballet legend. She taught me how to dance to the vibration of the music, since I’m deaf, and would always figure out new ways for me to improve. It came to the point where I convinced myself that I was in love with her, and that one day I would end up marrying her, when I was old enough.
I became obsessed with ballet. I practiced any time I could; if you’d met me back then, you would have seen me scrambling to finish my classwork or test before anyone else and begging my teachers at school to let me practice in the halls while the rest of the class finished. It was unhealthy, but I wanted to impress Miss Vazquez. She had so much faith in me, she was always reassuring me that I could be as good as any other ballerina if I dedicated myself to it. Miss Vazquez always noticed the improvements, would always praise my efforts. It was like a drug that left me dazed for the rest of the weekend.
Alas, it couldn’t last. The divorce of my parents were costing my mother a fortune, and she couldn’t afford to continue taking me to the ballet lessons. Not to mention that she needed to find someone to take care of my younger brother, who was a toddler at the time, and my grandmother was too sick to do it like she used to. So I stopped showing up.
I never got to say goodbye, and I never saw Miss Vazquez again. We never recovered financially, so I was never able to continue dancing. It was the first time I experienced heartbreak, but looking back, it was a beautiful kind of ache.
