So writers joke a lot about "drinking the tears of our readers", but I want to be so honest with you when I tell you that making you cry isn't our real goal. Making you feel is.
Kicking your feet? Giggling? Can't stop smiling? And yes, crying? Feeling anything, everything. That's our goal. That means we did The Job.

I don’t write from nothing. Every character, every word is the echo of reality. Every feature is plucked from someone I knew, every line from a conversation I had, every heartbreak is my own.
I just try to write better endings.
If the character you’re writing doesn’t have a theme song that you assigned to them three years ago then cut them out because they clearly aren’t that important to the story
