Can't find the original post anymore, but once i read something along the line "i've never seen luffy praise zoro" or something like that, and i need to- One of the many things that i love about luffy is how he never gets tired of admiring his first mate.

Luffy praises his crewmates a lot, but if i'm not mistaken.. i think he praises zoro like, a lott (top 3 for sure, also i'm focusing on zoro because... i'm a zolu account??) Also by 'admiring' here, i'm not only talking about all the explicit praises (compliments such as 'cool', 'amazing', et cetera), but also about the subtle ones... how luffy's eyes lightens up, his grin reaches his ears whenever he watches his first mate flexing his amazing skills.

Zoro is strong. Luffy knows how strong he really is, but that won't stop him from praising and admiring his first mate (every now and then). You think that after seeing his mate fight many times, he will get used to it but no-

Rewatching stampede and i will always think about the fact that zoro and luffy literally split up during the treasure hunt part (cuz zoro asked for his captain to go ahead first, while he fought killer), but when the ground freakin collapsed, somehow, he was able to spot his captain falling into the sea??

What kind of eagle eyes does he have? zoro literally has a spidey sense but instead of for sensing danger, it's for sensing when luffy's in danger. (proven from time to time in the animanga too!)

Yeah their relationship based on loyalty and devotion and trust they LOVE each other we don't need to prove that, the love is there that if you deny it it's kinda like you deny their personal agenda idk what else to tell you. They motivated each other.

IDK but thinking about how after luffy managed to defeat rob lucci, zoro responded with "got me scared for a moment" my god, zoro was scared of losing his captain, im not okay? I get that he'd die for luffy, but i still can't handle this?!

I can't help but to think of alabasta, when sanji explicitly stated that zoro was feeling scared for luffy (that luffy might lose), and then zoro got genuinely offended "ME...? SCARED...!? SAY THAT AGAIN...."

But then look at him in enies lobby? He openly admitted to himself about how for a moment he felt scared FOR his captain, and im just?!@#$% character development indeed

OK SO, enies lobby. After zoro expressed his relief, unfortunately not long after that it turned out that luffy was unable to move his entire body (at that particular moment), AND poor zoro... he was literally panicking and losing his marbles, even at that time robin was more composed compared to zoro (the same zoro who didn't cry for merry btw, even robin shedded a tear)

Zoro is a very calm person but when it comes to luffy facing real danger, he will most definitely lose his mind???

Legitimately can't stop thinking about how often zoro loses his shit over luffy (and probably from the very start.. orange town most likely)

Zoro. One of the most emotionally composed, level-headed person out of all the strawhats. But when it comes to luffy? Suddenly he is losing all composure. He is Roronoa 'im all beaten up but gotta save luffy from drowning in arlong park', 'i cant stop worrying about the luffy vs crocodile fight', 'how dare you hurt my captain?! I will CUT you', 'LUFFY CANT MOVE HIS BODY AT ALL, AND IM GENUINELY FREAKING OUT', 'nothing happened in thriller bark', 'im still pretty much battered, but luffy you cant do that you idiot, let me do it for you' Zoro

AND those things above are just a few examples from the top of my head? and all of them are only from pre-TS era??

A very little detail about luffy that just came to mind (probably not important but pls excuse my tunnel vision when it comes to zolu), but zoro literally was the first strawhats that luffy shedded his tears for???

Mihawk vs Zoro. You can even see his tears falling from both eyes. From the left eye (1st pic) and right eye (2nd pic).

And not only that but i think it happened twice?

You can see rayleigh stopping kizaru from hurting zoro. Then if you look at the bottom panel, after seeing rayleigh you can spot the little snot from luffy's nose and a single tear from his left eye. Luffy was very relieved to see rayleigh, but more importantly, he was very relieved because rayleigh had just saved zoro from kizaru's attack.

Now the more i think about it, those two moments (when luffy cried(?) for zoro) were never really a grandiose one with all the big tears and ugly sobbing. But well, if you think about it, that kind of thing wouldn't be possible(?) not really... cuz at the time when those two situations occurred, zoro was in incredible danger AND with powerful foe/s around. Luffy didn't have the time to properly process his emotions. Like heck after mihawk slashed zoro, luffy even tried to attack mihawk. And with the sabaody arc one, the situation was even more chaotic..

So honestly? Im just thinking about how zoro probably was the first person outside of luffy's family and all of his loved ones from foosha village (imma include shanks and his crew just bcs) that ever made him cry. I'm talking about the 'you are important to me, i care about you, and i don't want you getting hurt/dead' kind of tears, and ughh, idk let me just excuse myself and weep for a bit

That being said, if im not wrong i think zoro and usopp are the only two strawhats who ever made their captain cry twice. (Luffy cried after the battle with usopp (usopp leaving the crew) and after usopp rejoining the crew)

So I'm rereading Wano arc and chapter 980 has so many Zolu moments. I can never get tired of their interactions.

Starting with Zoro running after Luffy and following the noise knowing it would probably be his captain. Luffy is basically his GPS why is this so funny.

And then he scolds Luffy about failing to be discreet

Only for him to join him because they essentially share the same braincell

And them freaking out when the other gets injured. Seeing Zoro's reaction btw I'm damn glad he was out cold when Luffy died because I'm not sure how he would have coped.

And this panel is basically Zoro's thought process on the daily "only here to please my captain"

Luffy let out his iconic laugh while looking at zoro (gaining zoro's attention), and then he started to praise him by saying かっこいい (kakkoī= cool) and then zoro replied with うるせえ (uru se e= shut up) can't stand his tsundere a$$? He was literally looking away from luffy while telling luffy to shut up, like??

The sky was quite dark and clouded before luffy entered the scene. He approached zoro, as the sun followed him, until it reached the two of them.. getting brighter and brighter by the minute.

The symbolism hello? Luffy as his sun?? Luffy came into zoro's life and he brought light into his life??? Which reminds me of what mackenyu said about zoro: "..and meeting luffy is the biggest thing to ever happen to zoro... though, of course, he'd never say that out loud" God i just love the two of them so frickin muchh😔😔
