I personally think it's a good thing for Cale that people don't know he has a healing power and how it works. Because then... People would get more demanding.
There are already too many people (background extras, not his allies) who look up to him like a saviour and hero and are grateful for being able to stand under the protection of his shield. The blood coughing and fainting is what makes them (the humane ones) not think of him as an invincible person who Should be at the forefront protecting them.
Imagine if people knew that when Cale Henituse coughs up blood, he's not actually hurt or dying but actually healing? That he's not injured and rather perfectly fine and healthy? There would be more people who would want to push him to become their hero and savior, relying on him to save them from all sorts of dangers. That is not something Cale, who has spent nearly half of his life sacrificing himself to save others' lives, deserves.
His allies too. Although I feel bad for them sometimes for all the headache and heartache he gives them, it's for the best.
People already view him as a hero and savior, a legend. They don't need more grounds to forget he's human. They'll take his protection for granted and push him to do more. Although Cale isn't the type to just do as they ask of him. In fact, the ones to make these demands would be the first to die. But it still would leave a bad taste in everyone's mouth, especially those close to Cale. Though they'd do everything in their power to destroy whoever says such things, it'd still hurt them to know people think of their Cale as more of a commodity than a person. Heck I'm afraid even some of the allies might get the idea that it's fine for the young master to cough up a little blood if it's for the greater good.
That's why, it's for the better that nobody knows the truth behind the coughing blood.
Lord, I love him. He would say shit like "Don't bring knives to a gun fight" and i love that for him
been thinking about Alberu Crossman lately and how he really is just the guy of all time. he's a magic swordsman prince and a quarter Dark Elf, but his main weapon is a gun. and not just any gun, but an alien gun that came pre-installed with AI. he spent half a chapter on hold with customer service once. his alias of choice when going undercover is "Bob." he's white-passing, but only when he wants to be. his main catchphrase is "This is driving me nuts." he uses this catchphrase so much, the fandom has started associating him with squirrel imagery. he's the only person to call Cale an immature brat to his face. he was assigned a fursona by God. he's genuinely upset that the main villain makes better cookies than he does. he fought the final boss in his pajamas - and won. he averted a TPK for Cale's allies by taking a video call as his fursona. he once shot the main villain while he was monologuing. he's even a gamer. what did we do to deserve him
Sometimes you gotta obliterate an island or two, you know? Is cathartic, Alberu should try it some day
I've wanted to do this meme redraw for so long
Next time a blocked number calls you answer like this: “Jim’s whore house. You got the dough, we got the hoe.”
I think that KRS!Cale could be a great fanon Red Hood. Like a Crime Boss that controls the underground with the basic rules:
1) Don't deal with kids (or touch them in general)
2) Don't traffic people
3) Don't rape or abuse
Do it, and you will find out really fast
The difference is that he does not do all the hard work and uses his lieutenants, Choi Han, Ron, Beacrox, and Rosalyn, to apply all the rules while he takes care of the other boss criminals.
They are so special to me
I have a type and it's Red. It you get it, you get it.
This novel was one of the first novels I read, so imagine my surprise when I was looking for something else, and nothing was even close to being as good at this.
How it treats KRS past life, his character and how intersects with the rest. And, yes, acting like an actual adult was refreshing, I also read a stupid amount of romantic Isekai and it's so weird for these women to act like they are 25 or 30 like they are supposed to be.
And thank every cosmic power, when he isekaided on a younger body, he didn't feel attracted to a minor. Because that apparently is a common factor in the rest of the novels I tried to read.
You know one of my favorite things about this novel?
Is that Cale (Well, Kim Roku Soo) actually acts his age (36)
I personally haven't read many Isekais aimed at male audiences, so I can't speak for those
I have, however read quite a bit of Otome Isekais
And one of the things that annoys me the most about the genre, is when the protagonist, usually an adult woman, gets reincarnated into a baby, a child or a teenager and you sometimes forget their actual age because some of the things they do, some of the decisions they make are /baffling/ when you remember they're a grown ass adult
But with Cale is quite the opposite, people around him are often left scratching their heads at some of his actions and level of maturity ("Aren't you supposed to be 18-20?")
Hell, one time he told Raon that he is "30 years older than him" only to remember mid-phrase that nope, he's actually supposed to be only 15 years older
-Spoilers for P1-
And it's also very funny when Alberu finds out that Cale is, in fact actually older than him, his reaction is pure gold because he's supposed to be the hyung around here you know?
That's why he selfishly saved them yk yk
I would let him ruin my life.
Took me forever to finish this because this vain little young master won’t leave me alone until I made sure everything on his person looked absolutely dashing and gorgeous.
Ref for pose and composition: X: @tnadmszo01
This is canon to me (and this is really beautiful, he's so cute wtf)
Since my old Jason art started popping off, here’s some more 🫡
Someone in the tags said he really is a white T-shirt guy and look… he definitely is. Jason’s always been a man of simple fashion to me so here’s a couple of the very few pieces he owns such as: Gotham Library shirt he found at goodwill, big Sport sweatshirt (stolen from bruce), and shearling denim jacket that’s the only other outwear he owns sans the Red Hood leather jacket plus ya know, some gear sketches and whatever.
