I'm Kacper, an autistic polish trans man living in the UK. I work a part-time job which I adore, but the hours aren't the best. My paycheck was a little low this month, and while I managed to cover rent just fine, I'm short on bills and food. To add onto that, I desperately need to get new lenses for my glasses as I have chronic migraines and my out-of-date perscription only adds to it. The migraines have also caused me to miss a couple of shifts at my job.

Calling all Gravity Falls fan artists for a charity project benefiting Palestine!

Hello, Hana Hyperfixates here! I’m a YouTuber with videos focusing mainly on Gravity Falls and fandom culture. But I’m also a Palestinian person who has been heartbroken watching the violence unfold in Gaza. So far more than 40,000 people have been killed, and countless more have been injured, starved, displaced and oppressed under the threat of genocide.

I want to do something about it, and if this fandom is what I know it to be, I’m sure others do, too. 

The Gravity Falls fandom has had no shortage of wonderful, generous efforts to extend aid to various charities and to those in need. Through my ten years in this fandom I’ve seen calendars and zines and similar projects be sold, with hundreds of dollars being raised.

So I am happy to announce a new fundraising effort: Mystery Twin Mystery Bags. 

The idea: bring in artists from across the fandom to design pins, stickers, charms, posters and more. These items would be pre-ordered, purchased, randomly assorted into mystery bags and shipped out to fans like you!  Options would exist at differently-priced tiers, for you to buy anything from a handful of random stickers, to a big box of everything, and the funds would all go to a great cause!

After shipping out items, 100% of the profits for this project would be split 50/50 between these two funds for aid and relief in Gaza.

As the situation in the Gaza is ever-evolving and needs change, we might add other charities onto this roster. We will be transparent if this ever happens. The most important thing is getting the money where it is needed the most.

Our condemnation of the horrific actions of the government of Israel does NOT mean that we can’t protect and stand with our Jewish friends and community members. The country where I come from, Venezuela, has had an election for president that has resulted in fraud. Mr. Nicolás Maduro has proclaimed himself President although the votes have said the opposite. This regime has devastated the lives of its citizens, resorting to violence against those who opposed it. It has brought ruin to a nation once celebrated as a pioneer of Latin American independence, yet many choose to overlook its plight. Venezuela, a country that once extended support to immigrants and provided aid to others, is now dismissed as insignificant by many.

If you are an advocate who values the dignity and needs of individuals, we urge you to raise your voice alongside us. Don't ignore us because we are Latinos, this is also a war. It is a conflict against an individual who has controlled his armed forces, law enforcement, narcotics syndicates, and citizens, rendering any attempts at reform futile despite our vocal protests. I have family members who are unable to depart through legal means, and if they choose to leave unlawfully, they face harsh judgment from people of the outside.

God I will never not be fascinated by Candybats. In any other fandom it would probably be a decently well known rarepair AT BEST but instead it’s THE Spooky Month ship. This is mainly because of a variety of combining factors (the writing on the wall, Kevin being a fan favorite that people REALLY wanted a ship for, Streber being an accidental fan favorite and massive angst magnet, Spooky Month having limited ship options, both being twinks with opposing energies) but god it genuinely is one of the most interesting case studies of shipping being a fucking wild card I’ve ever seen. Because like. Yeah Kevin and Streber have OTHER ships that are known like Jawbreaker and Gothicbats. But Candybats is just more…compelling to study. Not even saying it’s a better ship but the circumstances around it make it so unique to me. I genuinely cannot stress how interesting it is to me that something like this can happen. It is a ship born purely out of fanon. And yet it is the most popular ship in the fandom. All three of the ships that arguably compete for that title, Goldenlavender, Smokeydonuts and arguably Bitterpopcorn have like…canon relationships to go off of. But Sr Pelo has actively stated Kevin and Streber don’t know each other. Yet that didn’t stop fanon. Can anyone hear me. I’m going insane.
