Sorry for falling off. That was on purpose. I had to become something I wasn’t in order to remember what I was.

A captivating story. What a shame that such brilliance is marred by the author’s utterly repellent character.

I love it to death but the mood and settings are not in agreement with the current climate I’m in
After a third rewatch of Inside Job I have this to say:
The ending is still as gut wrenching and sickening as it was the first time.
“I’ll miss you, Ron. And I know if it were possible, you’d miss me too.”
SO SICK AND TWISTED
I often think about how important the setting was for The Secret History.
Had the events taken place away from the large sums of money and aesthetics of Hampden College and New England, people would not be so quick as to obsess over and ultimately glorify the characters.
The copious wealth of the characters renders us to oftentimes dismiss the drug use, abuse, and literal murder committed throughout the story. I’m certain that had the setting, and class of the characters been different, the novel would have been received much differently.
But alas, that was one of Donna’s points when writing the book, and I’m just a girl who likes to read.
