First of all I wanted to let you know that if you are reading these words I have to congratulate you for having survived this year full of "adventures".
I also have to say that this year I have a greater commitment to create more content, both written and photographs, and why not some video as well.
And finally here are my first photos of this year. It was an incredible morning to be able to enjoy the views from the mountains in Navarra.
I hope you enjoyed.

In this post there is little to tell in words and much to show through the lens of my camera. So I hope with all my heart that you enjoy the small landscapes of an "enchanted forest" in the region of Navarra - Spain.

Several weeks ago my wife and I decided to go collect Sloes to make homemade Pacharán. It is a tradition that I have been doing in recent years, it always makes me happy and I am excited.
What I usually do is go to the forests every week to see how the Sloes are maturing, but this year I could not do it since I had to resolve many issues and did not have the necessary time. But this time it was a bit late to find many Sloes, many of them were out of season. But thank God we were able to find enough to make a few bottles of Pacharán.
Yes, Pacharán with beer is one of my favorite alcoholic beverages. I love it because it has the perfect sweetness along with the necessary degree of alcohol, 28 degrees to be exact. If you live in Europe, it will be very easy to prepare this delicious drink, since this area of the world is where the sacred fruit of the Sloe is found.
For the preparation of Pacharan it is very important to find the largest sloes and this is done in late September or early October, it is very important to control where there are sloes in the forest and visit frequently when they are ready. To know that the sloes are ready, you have to try them, if they are sour you still need time, but if they are sweet they are ready for harvest. I emphasize that it is very important that they are the largest as they will provide more flavor and aroma to the Pacharán.
When we already have the Sloes we have to wash them to remove all the impurities they may have, we do not want it to influence the taste of the drink. Fill a glass bottle one third with Sloes, then add the Aniseed with 28 degrees of alcohol to fill the bottle and cover it with a cork. And basically that would be all to do Pacharán.
It is important to know that you are not ready to enjoy it yet, since the drink has to be red. What we will do next is to rotate the bottle very carefully once a week for 3 to 4 months but nothing happens if it is done for 5 or 6 months. Finally, when the necessary time has passed, the Sloes will have to be removed and it is from this point where you can enjoy the magnificent Pacharán.
Whenever I make this drink, I find it something magical, as if I went back to the principles when we had to prepare things from scratch, where you would have to be patient to get good results. We can still go back to those times and learn that things are not born done but that we have to work to obtain the result.

On Wednesday afternoon we decided to go to a hunting forest that we usually go to many times as we like it a lot. We went for a walk, take photos and collect Sloes. This forest is very close to home if you drive about 7 minutes. It has areas that strangely look like a jungle and others as if magical elves live there.
Like I said, we really wanted to collect Sloes and we did, although we couldn't find many. I plan to write in a next post about how to prepare homemade Pacharán (liqueur), it is something very easy to do.
Walking towards the search for Sloes, we realized how minimally we can notice how Autumn begins to change the color of the perishable leaves of the trees. For me it is a reflection that little by little everything will be "dead" and we will have to put hope again in our hearts to see the forest reborn again, I have always seen it as a very real hope year after year.
We were at the point that I like the most about this place, where you can be surrounded by mountains, mountains full of life and color (still). We were sitting on a small hill as it drizzled, observing the landscape, reflecting on what God has created. It was beautiful.
Finally we crossed a small stream, then we entered a path that looked like an entrance to a humid forest but I think we had that idea since there was a lot of fern (we love it).
We want to go back to this forest and see how little by little the leaves change color, more yellowish and reddish. And we hope that is very soon.

Last Saturday we went to San Sebastián to visit some friends and also to enjoy the city. Although we only went for one day we had a great time.
We were able to enjoy the road and the wonderful rainy day. When we arrived in San Sebastián, the first thing we did was meet our friends. We were able to prepare a good meal and talk. As you can clearly see in the photos the weather was very crazy, it was windy and raining a lot, but despite that we wanted to walk with our umbrellas.
We went to see shops, to the cathedral and to walk to the beach. We went back to our friends' apartment to prepare a delicious Russian meal with my wife, unfortunately we didn’t take photos of the dinner or the food but everything was delicious.
It was a good day, a great short trip.

Last Saturday we went to a forest about 19 kilometers from home located in the Imoz Valley. I'm still amazed at how wonderful places can be found in our region (Navarre). I have always been amazed by nature, many times I am speechless and wondering if it is really real or am I in one of the landscapes of The Lord of the Rings.
We had a great desire to see horses, in fact before leaving home we prepared some fruits to feed them. Unfortunately we did not find any horses, as is evident since there are no horses in any of the photos. But we saw a group of goats in the distance and also a small group of sheep, we did give them the apples that we had prepared. At first the sheep were shy, they probably would give them something bad.
Although we hadn't prepared anything for ourselves at home, we bought some crab sandwiches at the gas station that were delicious. Walking through the forest we find a spectacular place to enjoy our little snack. We sat under the shade of a fruit tree that gave us a perfect shade and through which you could feel the fresh air.
I am grateful that we don't have to travel that far to be surrounded by such beauty. Our Creator has painted it as a perfect picture to show us how great He is and we can enjoy what He has done.

So here we start. A year ago I wanted to start with this little project for a website. A place to share about the places where I go, about what I keep learning about life and about my unshakable faith in God.
I see it very advantageous to have something like a diary on the web since it serves to unburden myself and at the same time show the world the interesting things (for me) that surround me. The idea of showing the things that I observe through the eye of my camera, a Sony Alpha 5000 that has accompanied me in the last 5 years. This fills me with emotion. But not everything is in my camera, but also in the experiences that life has given me, sweet and sour, but ultimately experiences where I could learn something good.
I also love being able to share what I have been able to learn about God in the Bible, where I hope my faith grows stronger every day. I firmly believe that in God I can have a kind of inexhaustible, eternal joy, something that cannot be found in this perishable world. And without a doubt the text in the Bible that has helped me to delve into them is Psalm 16:11 where it says: “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore ”. To this day I have found nothing more satisfying than to understand this great truth.
As you can see in the photo, that is the place where I will spend some time working on this little personal project. I will try to be honest and to the best extent to be persistent without meaning to lose meaning. But obviously not everything stays here, my wife and I love to walk in the woods, go to the mountains and sometimes walk around town with some good fries potatoes.
I really hope that this stint on the web is a light for your life and that you can learn and appreciate the things that are really worth it.
This Tuesday I was with some friends visiting a minimum part of the Navarrese Pyrenees. This place is 1000 meters above sea level and only 50 minutes from home. I do not have an epic story to tell but I can say that being there was amazing, despite the wind and snow that fell, it was worth it. I hope you enjoy the photographs.
okay I am for real obsessed with this kind of nature.
