I'm alive, I'm alive. I've been gone a long time, but honestly, it's been a hell of a summer. I live in the north and this year the summer was 10-15 degrees hotter (in Celsius). I've been living under a fan 24/7. And September was very warm as well. Only October has pleased with the usual coolness.

So I remembered how to draw and brought Gross the robot. It was supposed to be for Halloween, but I forgot.

A little sketch of Sisu's appearance in the httyd world for my fanfic.

Used the colors from the concept art because I like them better than the ones in the cartoon.

I know I haven't posted anything in a while, but no inspiration for WoF yet. But me and Toto (@militotoss) have created a dragon fan special for the world of Httyd. And while we're formalizing the species description, I've started writing a fanfic about it.

So, I didn’t watch the movie itself, but the meme didn’t pass me by.

You've already seen Gross, but you haven't seen Parma.

Parmenio (again Latin words as a name) - a hybrid of Leafwing and Silkwing.

I have an AU where these two live. I plan to draw a comic based on it, but it will take a long time because I don’t like drawing the background.

And then in the chat they suggested drawing Sunstreak on Design meme.

I usually don't draw canon characters unless I'm asked to do so.

But my love for showing off my headcanons got me into drawing.

Sunstreak. And my headcanons for BeetleWings(and HiveWings, and SilkWings).

When I first saw the tribal designs, the wings quickly became the object of my ire.

Insect wings. which do not bend. and are attached only to the limb.

The last straw was the children Sunstreak and Clearsight. These massive Nightwings bodies have butterfly wings. And Hivewings can also have transparent wings.

Result: The wings are movable and cannot be transparent. But BeetleWings and descendants have an additional joint in the wing manus, which, when the muscles are tense, locks the wing motionless in an extended state. Other tribes don't have this. The wing membrane is attached to the body. And these are full-fledged wings, which have a shape similar to the wings of insects. The composition of the scales from the wings differs in composition from the scales from the rest of the body. Therefore, the wings feel different to the touch and their color may differ radically from the main color.

Beetlewings also have wings like bees or dragonflies. Wings Silkwings are a mutation of the wider wings of Nightwings - the result of several hybrid generations.

On the other hand: antennas growing from the temples have no justification other than my personal whim. (I don’t like it when they grow from the forehead.)

Looking through old art, I discovered that exactly 4 years ago I joined the "Wings of fire" fandom. So I found and redrew the very first character.

His name is Varan. From Latin Varanus (Yes, I like to take bits of Latin words as names).

Why are his irises and collar all the colors of the rainbow? I didn’t know how to show that out of all the colors, only they can change color.

As soon as I find this Rainwing. I don't want to draw someone from the canon. But on the other hand, my friends have characters with complex (multi-detailed) colors. Dilemma.

Named after the morph of the royal python: super mojave.

One day I'll learn to tell more about my characters.

Her name comes from the Latin name of a subspecies of pepsine spider wasp: Pepsis grossa.

English is not my native language, so I use a translator. I hope everything is clear enough.
