one thing i love love loove about the apothecary diaries light novel is how it never tells you maomao likes Jinshi it shows you with how she's always monologuing about how beautiful and stunning and pretty and nymph like he is in every chapter. How some moments are just maomao looking, observing Jinshi as he in unaware of her stare. How even her looking at him like he is a bug is also cute and affectionate once you realize that Jinshi likes that look and Maomao looks at him like that not because she finds him disgusting but because she is disgusted in the fact that Jinshi makes her feel things she's never felt before and it confuses her.
