Love the idea of everyone assuming Jayce and Viktor are dating when they call the other their partner 😂

Being a girl is: wanting to go to bed early but deciding to just get on tumblr/wattpad/Ao3 for a little bit and then end up finding a fic series that you really like and read until well past your usual bedtime then keeping on because it’s already past your bedtime. Then being mad when you wake up in the morning because you overslept your timer.
A truce?
I know that we often criticize JK Rowling's writing (and with good reason), but there's one thing I believe she got right: how she portrays Harry finding out about his father's bullying.
Since the beginning of the books, we see Harry's parents as these perfect heroes, who gave their lives to save their son. So, obviously, this orphan child idolizes his parents - and so do we, as readers.
The only person who goes against that idea is Snape, who only ever says bad things about James Potter. However, Harry doesn't believe him, and neither do the readers.
And then, we see Snape's memories and find out that he was right all along. That James wasn't a perfect hero, but used to be a violent bully who tormented people for fun. Just like Harry, we get disenchanted, like we have been deceived this entire time.
Harry idolizes his father, but he's still capable of recognizing that his actions were cruel and inexcusable. Harry hates Snape, but still acknowledges that he didn't deserve that kind of treatment. It's a good message to show that people aren't just "good" or "bad".
And because of that, it's even more frustrating when fans try to defend James' actions, by saying: "Actually, no, Snape was a bad person, so he deserved to be bullied".
Even Harry HATES Snape and is able to see that what his father did is horrible. Harry adores Sirius and adores Remus, and yet he tells them to piss off when they try to justify the bullying. The purpose of that scene is for Harry to demystify his father, to learn that he wasn’t perfect, and to start doubting the adult figures of his childhood. It’s a way to break away from childish innocence and to make the protagonist understand that not everything is black or white, and that even good people can do horrible things, and it’s not right to idealize anyone.
The scene is designed to seem horrible. Harry finds it horrible. Harry. James’s son. Sirius’s godson. Harry finds what they did disgusting, and they’re doing it to someone Harry hates. This isn’t accidental; narrative and storytelling aren’t accidental things. The scene is set up this way, and the protagonist’s reaction is what it is because Rowling is telling the reader that it was horrible, that James and Sirius were bullies, and that Snape was their victim. Denying this goes against the narrative. But justifying it with absurdities like saying it was Snape’s fault for not wearing pants?? I get that they are kids saying these things, but one day they’ll wake up at 25 and realize the nonsense they said online, and they’re really going to feel terrible shame.
The worst part is that they’re not interested in understanding other points of view. Like, you share links or articles with different perspectives, and they don’t care. They don’t give a damn about the canon; they literally deny it. The mental gymnastics they do to justify the abuse? But then they say the scenes are open to interpretation, like, hello? They’re not? The scenes are designed to convey a message, and the message is clear. That they need to deny it over and over again to avoid admitting they’re whitewashing and justifying wealthy abusers is their cognitive dissonance running wild. Honestly, what a damn shame these people are; I don’t care if they’re kids, I had more than two neurons at 15.

It's a shame Harry never met anyone the Marauders bullied at school - the boy whose head they blew out (I couldn't find his full name, but he was Aubrey, I think?), the ones they cursed in the corridors out of boredom. Someone other than Snape that Harry (and the reader) is biased towards. Like someone from the Ministry or an Auror he had to deal with. Harry learns that this person went to school with his father and expects to hear praise, stories about how great James was at school, how cool he played Quidditch, what a hero he was, etc., but what he gets is something like:
"Oh, that motherfucker... Inflated my head like a balloon. I had to go to St. Mungo's after that! Do you see this scar? I got it from your father. He was a total asshole."
just opened my banks app and it gave me a pop up for a fuckin. banking unwrapped?? and it turned out it was just unpersonalized customer statistics but for a brief glorious moment i was imagining a world where my bank was about to hit me with "you wasted $400 on GAY USELESS PURCHASES. you have spinal tap ungrungcore spending habits. your top transfer this year was: your landlord."
"The marauders bullied Severus so bad" "They weren't comparable enemies, Severus was just protecting himself"
Riddle me this; If Snape really was bullied, why would he go to the shack?
If your bully came to you saying "hey, why don't you come to the local HAUNTED HOUSE in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT? There's something special for you 😌" WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU COME?
this might be controversial...? but i don't think that snape being an adult when he bullied students is inherently worse than the marauders bullying him while they were teenagers based on their respective ages alone. and that is because the severity of their bullying is nowhere near comparable.
many people (me included) think that snapes worst teacher moment was when he indirectly insulted hermiones teeth. that was pretty fucking awful and can't be excused, especially because he was an adult and teacher. in general, all of his bullying was purely verbal, he never caused physical harm (on the contrary, he was surprisingly protective of all the students compared to most hogwarts teachers).
so obviously the marauders equivalent to this kind of bullying would have been if they stuck to just insulting snapes appearance and calling him snivellus. this is awful too, but not as bad as adult snape saying similar things to children. if this was all that happened, snape would indeed be a worse bully than them.
but the problem is that they didn't stick to 'just' verbal abuse. they went many steps further and almost got their victim killed. and as if that wasn't bad enough, they proceeded to sexually harrass him just for funsies later on. so, well, maybe it's just me, but i can't comprehend how being insulted by a teacher (hurtful) is apparently worse or even just comparable to almost dying and being SA'd by classmates (life long trauma right there). does it actually matter to the victim that the offenders were teenagers? i doubt it.
being a teenager shouldn't mean that you can just get away with shit like that or that it can't be extremely traumatic for the victim, just because they're minors.
For Years my brother has been fucking with me by periodically texting me to say Jimmy Carter had finally died. Today the bit has paid off.
The response to my reaction at work was “what do you MEAN ‘for real this time’?????”
I fucking hate it here I’m crying
Sirius: *irritated* Just because I can turn into a dog, does NOT mean I act like one.
James: *raises eyebrow* Oh, yeah?
James: *throws quill across the room* Hey Padfoot, go fetch.
Sirius: *actually fighting himself to hold still* I despise you.
Remus: Here, I got an idea.
Remus: *walks over and tips Sirius' chin up with his finger* Who's my good boy?
Sirius: *absolutley melts*
James: *reluctantly impressed* Get a fucking room.
I will never stop thinking about Scorpius Malfoy wanting to prove to the world that he isn't a bad person like everyone thinks his parents were, and I can't stop thinking about Albus Severus Potter wanting to prove to the world that he doesn't have to be a hero like his dad was.
And I can't stop thinking about them both finding one another and connecting over the shared experience of trying to prove to the world that they are their own people, trying to prove to the world that they're more than who their parents are.
Albus and Scorpius needed to meet because they needed each other.
something something despite the all horrors and tragedies of the world, love was there and that's all that matters
"I'm not like other girls." Well, that's good for you, but I am. I love reading books and fanfics. I love obsessing over fictional characters and screaming music at the top of my lungs. I love fangirling over celebrities and getting overly invested in ships that will never be canon. I cry over sad endings and laugh at memes no one else understands. I love getting way too excited over small things, daydreaming about impossible scenarios, and staying up late to finish just one more chapter. I love getting lost in fictional worlds, losing sleep over them, and rewatching my favorite shows a million times. I love spending hours scrolling through fan art and feeling alive through the stories, music, and love for people I will never meet. I love being like other girls.
Severus Snape is literally the most important character of the entire Marauders' generation because the fate of all of them depends on him, and because, basically, they only exist, aside from giving Harry some parents and friends, to complete Snape's backstory. Without Snape, we wouldn’t even know what those people’s school years were like because it wouldn’t matter. It's to explain why Snape has issues, why he has that personality, why he switches sides, or why he helps Harry while simultaneously hating him that we get flashbacks and learn things about them. So, guys, you should show him a bit more respect because if you have a fandom, it's basically thanks to that character you constantly leave out of your fics filled with people with colored hair and 70s wizards behaving as if they went to school during the golden era of Gen Z.
I’m 99% sure Lily Evans was a feminist and y’all Sn*ily stans treating her like an object would really piss her off.
snape stans are so odd to me. like there are so many cool and interesting and better characters to choose from and you choose him?

Remus Lupin is the type of boyfriend to act shy the first time you suck his cock— but definitely push your head down and fuck your face once he realizes how much you love his dick. Now with little restraint, Remus adores to paint your pretty face with his cum and smearing it around your lips with his index finger, only for you to lick it… which never fails to make him smile.
ah well, people can be a bit stupid about their pets.

If your reason for not shipping Ron and Hermione is because of all their bickering... you have a child's grasp of their characters.
Ron has five brothers and a little sister. You have to be quick witted to keep up with the amount of friendly fire going on inside that house. The loudest gets heard. He's always ready for a fight.
Hermione secretly judges people by their ability to keep up with her intellectually. Condescension is a reflex. It pushes people away before they can actually match her (because god forbid she lose).
Unstoppable force meets immovable object. Ron can't stop once he gets started and Hermione is too stubborn to admit she's wrong. And, the thing is, they both clearly love it.
Hermione wouldn't want a "yes" man and Ron wouldn't want someone who can't handle teasing. He challenges her intellect, and she gets an intellectual challenge. It's a win win.
James, Lily and Severus
