My thoughts on Teen Wolf season 5

Ok so um... I just finished season 5 because I had a bit of an accident and couldn't really watch the show plus I didn't really like this season so yeah...

Anyway here is what I think about this season and once again spoiler alert 🚨

How should I start, well this season was a tad bit too much, there was so much going at once.

In the first half it was kind of weird the switching up between the past and present and in the second half there were just too many things happening at once. Don't get me wrong, there were some awesome concepts but since most of them were done just because (not really explaining much about them) or weren't done more in depth, it all lost its potential.

First we have the Dread doctors, at first they seemed like really great bad guys with interesting superpowers, experiments against the supernatural and badass costumes but then they all just u know were no more. They didn't reach their potential which sucks a lot.

Then we have the desert people (I forgot what they are called) that try to help Kira and Kira's problems with her powers all together. Those people seemed cool with unique powers but were only mentioned and even Kira's problems weren't fixed, so yeah

Then we've got Malia and the desert wolf, her mother. This one got at least resolved but it still felt rushed and unnecessary

Then we have Parrish and his hell hound powers problem. This one also felt rushed but it was nice seeing Parrish at the end more comfortable with his power.

Next was the Beast, which I know was connected to the Dread doctors but I was still like why? It felt kind of too much you know although it brought the character of Marie-Jeanne Valet and she was mwah, love her plus the French accent of all the characters from her era 🤌

Ok let's move on to individual characters (not all of them) plus some of them just kind appeared or disappeared.

Let's start with Braeden, like wasn't she with Derek? Weren't they together after the Desert wolf? Idk if it was explained but it was still huh? moment for me.

Next sheriff Stilinski, since when did he and Lydia's mum have a thing together? That was so out of nowhere. I love his character but he was an ass for most of this season and Lydia's mum even though she is supposed to be a psychiatrist in place of Deaton's sister (who I have btw kinda adored) wasn't helpful at all, like she wasn't listening to what the kids were saying.

Next, I hate Gerard and he was brought back *sight*

Next we have the whole thing with Theo like was everyone so trusting towards him? Like they knew him for only a bit and everyone is like 'yeah let's go with whatever he says and ignore everything that people I have known for some time already say'. That was so frustrating...

Connected to this is what Stiles went through when he killed that guy in self defense. Because he told everyone from the beginning that there was something off about Theo but did someone listen to him? No, they didn't. (Let's ignore for a while that he too for some time for whatever reason trusted Theo and told him about what happened) And then everyone was against him. For this it would have been awesome if there was someone like Derek or Mr. Argent who are not that trusting because then Stiles would have someone on his side for this and he would have been more confident in his gut feeling.

Oh yeah coach and Melissa Mccall were amazing. Love them. Together with others like for example Corey (the relationship between him and Mason was cute) or Aiden and Liam. And it was nice seeing once again Deucalion (I kinda like his character).

And yeah I guess this is all, for this season I had a lot to say but it's my least favourite season so far.

Bitch, I'm on team, Hayden Romero deserves as much recognition for sacrificing herself to the wild hunt as Theo gets.

OKAY so here are some liam-related thoughts after finishing the teen wolf movie:

- he had like three lines. im not even exaggerating like it truly felt like it was only three lines.

- i wasn't mad at the fact that him and hikari were a thing? like obviously im a ride or die thiam enthusiast but like the only thing that actually bothered me was the lack of EXPLAINING on the script. how did liam get to japan? how did he befriend this girl who turns out to be a kitsune?

- we get NO scenes of liam when scott is being shot by three arrows. scott, HIS ALPHA, who his presumably dying. this pissed me off so much because we know liam is HIS beta, we would suppose they have a really strong connection (which they DO), but there's no shot showcasing that in one of the most important times of the movie. what the fuck.

- THE FUCKING SCENE WITH SCOTT, DEREK AND ELI. like i get it, you couldn't have more than one beta and eli is very important to the plot of the movie (kinda?) but you are actually leaving him out of this. out of the fight. when he's the only werewolf not doing shit.

- honestly they just should've stuck to the queer baiting with this one. like honestly.

i’m not gonna lie liam somehow acquiring the nogitsune jar thing that isaac literally took with him when he moved to france and deciding to keep it on a spice shelf in his ramen shop of all places is a hilarious way to open your movie

Jackson: You kidnapped him?

Scott: …Yes?

Stiles: He did. I just helped. Ya know, after.

Jackson: Do you two have a fetish for kidnapping newly turned supernaturals or something?

Stiles: *offended*

Liam: They kidnapped you too?

Derek: no

Okay so, I had a burst of inspiration. Think of it as a second trailer for Task force: Tricksters.

Trailer: “ What do you think Voodoo, think I can swipe it without having that guy notice.” , Roady said trying to get at least one of his ‘brothers’ to back him up.The boys were on their rooftop looking down at the busy crowd. It wasn’t theirs but it was a abandoned building so they called dibs. When Roady said his ‘name’ he looked over to the guy that his brother was determined to pit pocket. Ever since they left ... the bad place, they refused to go by the names they were given to them by the bad men. So they just named each other instead.

Voodoo’s name came from when they had watched the Princess and the frog movie that a family had left playing after they went to bed. The boys had a clear view to the movie from the window as the family had forgotten to close the curtains. Throughout the movie the boys kept asking their magic using brother if he could the same thing as the Shadow Man since then they jokingly started calling him that until it just became his actual name.

The family had a bad habit of leaving their curtains of their living room open. With a clear view to their tv, the boys would ‘visit’ the house to get more cultured and gain some information about the world they were in. Roady got his name the same way but with a old cartoon instead. At first it was a name his brothers gave him to mock him as it seemed that a roadrunner was faster than him as he could not yet reach a speed that could reconstruct an entire street. But it did encourage him to train harder to get faster, so he didn’t mind it after proving to his brothers that he could outrun a bird.

Spinner had gotten his name in a different manner but a much simpler way. With his webs being the only constant fabric that the boys had access to he used it as much as he could to help his brothers. So, he would be constantly found by one of his brothers spinning a new web so that the boys wouldn’t have to worry about sleeping on hard concrete at night or trying to make blankets to keep his brothers warm in the winter. After the boys had snuck into a library once to gather some information into what time and place they were in, they had decided to look around and see what else caught their interest. The web user brother had seen a book that had a frightening creature on it that had his former name on it. Out of morbid curiosity he opened it and took it to his brothers. They had learned that every time their brother had been using his webs that the correct term for it would be that he was spinning his webs. So that day he was named Spinner.

Puppy did not hate his name, he rather prefers it than his former name. The name he used to have made him sound like a cold heartless leader and he was anything but. His brothers had always seen him as the brother that preferred peace than to the violence that they would usually have to do. But it did not mean that he would not hesitate to rip out someone’s tongue if they had even dared to harm his brothers. One day when the weather was good, the boys were wondering around the city when they came to a unusual place filled with people and had an unusual amount of nature in it. The boys were hesitant but the strange area seemed to be filled with life and had lured them in. Almost immediately a whole herd that had been on a walk with their hired walker had ran up to the brothers. They seemed mostly interested in their canine-like brother. Distantly they had heard a small child say, “ Mommy, look! All the puppies like that boy! That’s not fair, I want the puppies to like me too!” When the mother looked up to see what her daughter was talking about she just saw a pack of dogs look confused as a man with a bunch of leashes in his hand come running up to the canines. About a few blocks away the boys were in a alley trying to be invisible. After that the brothers had started to show their affection to their brother by calling him ‘Puppy’ as they knew how he hated how his previous name made him sound like a predator.

Spooky had gotten his name in an unusual way. After recently escaping they had made a sort of base/home in a, what they thought, abandoned building. What the brothers didn’t know was that it was actually a building that a resident gang had recently decided it would be a good place for operation. The last thing that the gang had expected was to find a group of teenagers. The boys were still recovering from their last encounter of almost getting taken again so they did not look so good. To the gang the group of teenagers looked tired, hungry, and dirty. The gang had thought that the brothers were just some street kids looking for shelter. The gang had sympathy for the kids as they knew how hard it was to live in the streets. When one member went up to talk to them, one of the kids had suddenly said something that shocked them. “I’m sorry for your loss.” You see the specter brother had the ability to see the dead, so everyone that had died that had been close to the gang, he could see them. He said so himself, at first the gang had thought he was insane but then only said information had been disclosed between gang members and close allies. The gang had started to call him ‘spooky’ as a way to describe him but the brothers just picked it up as an actual name.

Mushu had given himself his name. He was the one that gave the bad men the hardest time when trying to make him forget because he was just so different. He remembered his past a bit more than his brothers. What he remembers is that his mother had loved to show him the movie ‘Mulan’, as a way to teach him to not underestimate girls and get him more interested into his family’s culture. He would constantly ask his mother that if he were to transform into his other form would he look like the cartoon dragon. Though he can’t remember her face, his mother would just smile at him and say “Perhaps... but you will definitely be a lot bigger and not be confused for a snake.” When he first transformed into his other form it was after he and his brothers were able to escape. The first thing that he and his brothers noticed about his form was about how red his scales were, much like the cartoon dragon. Once that happened he had deemed himself to be called Mushu as a way to try and remember his mother.

“ I don’t know, Roady.”, Voodoo said in order to try and steer his brother away from mischief.

“ That guy looks pretty high profiled, not to mention I’m getting a bad feeling about him.”, from the alarmed look coming from his eldest brother, Spinner quickly added, “ Not as ‘them’ but, as someone that just might be hard to go unnoticed by.”

This still made his brother weary but more calm. The man in question that had no clue that he was being conspired to be pit pocketed was none other than ... Oliver Queen, Star City’s very own vigilante.

(Side Note: I have decided to ship Peter with Steve in this fan fiction.)

You guys are probably going to think I’m a nut job but I sort of created a team based off that the character would get red eyes when transforming or when they are being controlled. With Harry we know that he got red eyes whenever Voldemort would take possession of him. With Barry when he was under the influence of the Rainbow Raider his eyes would turn red. Peter, I had once seen a fan art of him under the influence of venom and he had red eyes and then there is also Instant Kill Mode that I love to see on him. With Scott every time he goes wolf he has his red eyes shown, red eyes in his world signify the status of a alpha wolf. Danny had once been under control by Freakshow and during that he had red eyes instead of his normal blue or green. And Jake normally has his eyes black but for a split moment when he transforms he has flames in his eyes, so I just saw them as red instead. To be perfectly honest I had created this team because they are all characters I had a crush on while growing up.

I put who I imagine in the team and what I thought would be like their code names. I also came up with nicknames they call each other since they are too paranoid to use their actual names or don’t remember them. I’m still working on the story for it.

Hydra had heard rumors that all over ,there are powerful forces that could even outdo what the super soldier serum could do. There were mentions of children having powers that make grown men keel over. A baby in London had made his house blowup when an intruder had entered. His parents were deceased but the baby only had a scar to show that he was harmed. It was said that only a pile of robes and ashes were left of the intruder. A boy barely out of elementary school had seen his parents get murdered and had suddenly entered a coma for a year. Rumors say that his body would vibrate suddenly and stop as soon as it happened. And when he woke up he was perfectly healthy. He had said that the person who killed his parents drugged him as all he saw that was attacking his parents where flashes of lightning. A boy who had just recently started elementary school had recently been displaying abnormal strength and unusual stickiness after visiting his parents (undercover) work place. The child was under Hydra’s radar especially as his parents had been SHIELD agents and recent targets. A boy who had recently started middle school had been displaying odd behaviors after he had told his parents he had been bitten by a big dog. His parents hadn’t believed him as he had no wounds on him, but afterward he had become extremely aggressive when upset and had strange reactions towards his senses. A rumor from another state that a baby boy had been would go missing constantly after his parents had found him in their latest invention. A scout that was sent out had reported seeing the boy’s eyes glow green when having a small tantrum. And finally, a source from China had reported that a family had been slaughtered in what seemed to be a gang war. But Hydra saw differently. The only survivor had been a toddler. The boy had said to the Chinese officials that his parents had taken a vacation to China to visit his mother’s family when the bad men came. His mother had hid him in a secret room in the closet and told him to only come out when he heard nothing. The young boy was sent to an orphanage but would display odd behavior. He would often growl when angry and roar when having a tantrum. The orphanage had reported that the young boy at the age of seven had blew fire out of his mouth.

It’a a work in progress but I just wanted to know if I should continue with this insane idea or just give it up and just have this task force doing their adventures in my head.

The ships I have in mind so far are Harry x Cedric, Oliver x Barry, Scott x Liam, Danny x Sam (Manson), and Jake x Rose. I’m not mentioning Peter because I am stuck on who to ship him with. As you can tell by my name I would normally ship him with Bucky but I can also see Peter happily in a relationship with Steve or MJ. So out of those three I don’t know who to ship him with in this story.

Squad I’m losing my mind, I read a Thiam fanfic on ao3 like a billion years ago, and now I can’t find it. It was a college alternative universe, they were roommates ofc, and the song “heaven is a place on earth” was really important. I remember it being so good and I want to read it again HELP!

okay now that i’ve processed the teen wolf movie i can confidently say it’s dog shit

like literally it’s so bad and it makes me so mad i watched it for eli and the swearing that’s it

the only thing i took away from the teen wolf movie is that they should have also been able to say fuck in the show

stiles: this. man. loves. isaac: everyone saying physical touch because he’s been touch starved: you’re not wrong but i think it’s mainly words of affirmation. he’s so used to being told he’s worthless, that he’s disposable, easy to throw away. so the moment you tell him you appreciate him, that he makes you smile, that you’re proud of him, that he has VALUE, he has a hard time containing how loved it makes him feel. he often freezes up and mutters an awkward “thank you”. even if it’s just a simple “good job” for getting a good grade on a test, it helps him unlearn all of the negative beliefs about himself his dad imposed on him. he would be into physical touch with his romantic partner and people he’s close to but words of affirmation is gold.

liam: i had a tough time with liam but i think his would be quality time/body doubling. liam has always had a hard time with people wanting to be around him. they always treat him as fragile because of his IED, thinking that he’s one step away from going off. even more so when he became a werewolf. so for you to willingly spend time with him without any expectations involved? it makes him feel like maybe he isn’t all bad. you could be doing homework in his room together or watching a movie on the couch or literally sitting next to each other staring at a wall. he’s just happy someone wants to be around him and isn’t treating him like they’re walking on eggshells. liam only wants to feel like he’s normal and you’re happy to provide that for him.

derek: i was trying to do a different one for each of them but i feel like derek is a mix of acts of service and quality time. he’s had to rely on himself from such a young age that he’s grown self-sufficient to a fault. and when he was an alpha, he had to learn to take care of others and like scott, i think it took a toll on him to have to be the wise leader who always knows the answers. in that sense, i do think he knows what he wants. so if he asks for something, you’re happy to comply. now as to why i think quality time is also a big thing for him. he knows he can’t be alone all the time. but even with that, sometimes he doesn’t want to talk. sometimes he only needs your presence to reassure him he’s not alone. derek is a strong, silent type and i think that reflects in his needs.

I sighed as I climbed into bed, already irritated by how much room Liam was taking up.

"Move over for fuck sakes, and stay on your side," I scoffed.

"Trust me, I don't want to be any closer to you than I need to." He scoffed back.

Liam gives me another quick glance before he moves over, switches off the lamp, and settles in.

I turn with my back to him and try to nod off.

I woke up to Liam's body right against mine and his hand on my hip, not realizing how much time had passed.

How the hell are we in this position at all?

"You wouldn't stop moving your fucking hips, and I was freezing, so I moved over," he complains, obviously sensing that I had woken up.

"Okay, there's no reason for the fucking attitude." I scoffed

I also don’t see Theo as a villain cause even tho he did bad things just looking at his past and the situation he was in it’s kinda understandable why he did the things he did my personal interpretation of Theo is that everything he did was out of survival cause he didn’t want to die and I can’t fully blame him for that he definitely could have made better choices but growing up the way he did I get and honestly if I was in his situation I don’t think I would make the best choices either

Classic definitions of sociopathy typically include a disregard for right and wrong (not seeing actions as bad or good, just actions) and ignorance of the feelings of others (essentially the opposite of empathy). They are also often characterized as lacking in remorse.

Basically, even if someone is convinced Theo is 100% a villain (which is obviously false imo but I digress), he almost definitely isn't a sociopath because a lot of his plans rely on him understanding other people's emotions. His ability to read people was why he was able to use Liam, move Stiles and Malia out of the way, gain Scott's trust, etc. And then S6 showed him empathize with more than one person, showing remorse, and starting to understand the depths of his former depravity.

I'm just not sure how someone can walk away from that and call him a sociopath, personally.

oh, wow. looks like u know a lot. i love that. please, don't apologize, this is awesome! i did give theo a lot of different thoughts but not in this direction, so thank u for sharing with me. i love talking about these things, fr! altho theo is introduced as the bad guy in the beginning, i don't consider him a villain. i mean, he's not innocent, ofc, but villain sounds too much for me.

There’s also an episode where after a few episodes of the couples being grouped together they break them all apart like for a few episodes Scalia and money are all grouped together as well as Liam and Theo and then when they break the couples up they also break apart thiam having Liam go with Scott and Theo with mason every other time thiam is together but suddenly when all ships are separated so is thiam

Thinking about the fact that in the last ep of TW when Monroe was defeated, all the canon couples were seen together.

We saw every single one:

-Morey in the hospital

-Stydia and Scalia in the library

-even Jackson and Ethan in the locker room.

So it’s interesting to me that the directors and writers really decided to show Theo and Liam together too, when they could’ve easily shown Liam by himself talking into the radio.

Why show Theo standing behind him?

It’s just more proof that they were meant to a canon couple idc what anyone says.

You know I’ve really been in the mode for some demon Theo(supernatural demons specifically) fics I’ve started watching supernatural and I find the concept of the demons so interesting I’ve only read one fic with this premise

But I’m not sure if it will ever get updated so if anyone would want to write something like this I would be really happy I would try myself but I don’t have the skills just putting the idea out their

I think it's a combination of things

1. The first being Hayden's death Theo put the idea in Liam's head that if Scott were to bite Hayden she would live but Scott refused to do so, so then Theo put the idea that if Liam could become an alpha he could save Hayden

2.the fact that Liam was a werewolf with ied on a super moon while his girlfriend was dying, werewolves already have anger issues and can get violent when angry, so Liam having ied just makes his anger even worse than the average werewolf would also we've seen how werewolves especially more newer ones act on the full moon liam in season 5 was still having issues with control but it wasnt just a full moon it was a super moon which is even worse then add on to the fact that his girlfriend is dying then yeah liam has a lot going on in his head, then you have theo who sees all this happening in liams head and puts the idea in liam to kill scott giving liam a way to not only save his girlfriend but a place to direct his anger at

It's kinda what masons says the next episode that while Liam is partially at fault their were to many circumstances.

(also sidenote I don't know if this is kinda messed up to say but I kinda get why Liam was so angry at Scott, Scott had a possible way of saving Hayden Scott said he couldn't cause she could die from it but she was already dying , like she was gonna die either way but at least by biting her she has a chance. I'm not saying that to justify Liam's actions obviously not nor am I saying this to hate on Scott I actually really like Scott and I do kinda get why Scott didn't bite her I just think he should have taken the risk)

how did Theo get into Liam's head? How did he manipulate him to almost kill Scott? were those short conversations we see on the show really all it took?

I just read the first chapter and God that was good I'm excited for the rest also I'm sensing scileo friendship vibes in this which is making me even more excited
