⠀⠀ pearly whites were on full display; romeo perched himself up on the bar, a midnight kiss in one hand while the other dragged itself through a loose strand of hair from the pretty little thing in front of him... if only he remembered her name. they've been talking for 10 minutes, and romeo swears she's said it about 4 times and yet, his mind goes blank. sabrina ? no, she's a brunette. kelly... no. she looks too smart to be named that. lips part, a cute nickname sitting on the tip of his tongue until he's interrupted by the injured individual approaching him. romeo takes one simple glance over her, looks around ( they can't be talking to me, ain't no way ⏤ ), at the girl beside him then back at her. “ do i look like a fuckin' nurse ? who carries bandaids to a party ? ”
⠀⠀ the girl he was chatting up didn't look too pleased with his outburst, her scowl motivating him to look around the bar with an exasperated groan before snatching up three thin napkins and handing them over. “ fuckin' ⏤ here, use these. cannot believe you tripped over the staircase like a dumbass. are you drunk ? tipsy ? or just clumsy ? ”

4: all my sides have names except Hope! he just goes by his function title because it feels right idk. cringe is Ebony (because. Ebony Dark’ness Dementia Raven Way), sensitivity is Ophelia (named after the hurricane cos it felt right), logic is Nikola (named after nikola tesla), creativity is Angelo (named after michelangelo), anger is Phoenix (it felt right naming her after the mythical fire bird), and weed is Mary Jane. because of course it is

I got my first tat when I was 18. Gave my full back to my brother who had just started his tattooing career. Years later, my immune system ate up most of the ink and dulled its vibrancy (esp the yellow). Now I’m having to touch up something that’s already incomplete (free tats aren’t exactly easy to schedule =P). My brother’s work has improved exponentially, but I don’t regret giving up a large canvas to his nascent talents.
It made me look back on my early adulthood. My earliest romance with poetry. In fact, this phoenix was largely inspired by one of my favorite poems by Lawrence Ferlinghetti, which I hadn’t revisited in years.
Hope it inspires:
Eight People on a Golf Course and One Bird of Freedom Flying Over
The phoenix flies higher & higher

who have their head stuck in the sands
of a big trap
One man raises his head and shouts

Every time I shoot it down
it rises.
i'm pissed. i'm fucking pissed. all the shit i've been through and i've had to endure, i've endured it. then there comes those moments. the "little things". they push me right over he edge into the fiery depths of hell. i feel the heat of my anger. my blood boils for what i deserve. i want to burn them all to the ground. ashes to ashes. and then start again. like a phoenix. i feel my heart beat faster and faster and i desire so desperately to pour it out and rage. i want to destroy in a frenzy. a madman fighting an army knowing in his cold, unbeating heart that he will emerge victorious. knowing his will and rage will decide his fate for him. his enemies will ehar his roars and be frozen in fear and a midst battle his laughter as he enjoys the massacre. but eventually it dies down ever so slowly. that rage only lasts for so long till it dies down and your heart starts to beat at it's normal pace once more.
the rage is now bottled up and it is contained. the anger i once felt is dissipating but the memmory of that rage is replaced by a feeling of reality. what's happened has already happened and a sense of acceptance that the past cannot be changed. your heart beats rhythmically to it's normal pace and you areonce again left with a blank slate. what will i experience next? melancholy? fear? happiness? or simply absolutely nothing? would it be curse to feel nothing? or would it be a blessing?
