It's been a long time since I drew nicc.. and I've never post any drawing of him in tumblr.. so here's the drawing
( I know it's not really good, but well, I tried. )
Istg when I grow up I'll be open minded and won't believe those awful rumours and fake news my older relatives believe
Here's the explanation of Louisette's novel title:
I read somewhere that sunflowers symbolizes friendship, and in the late 19th century, a lot of mlm men (in this context, men-loving-men, not multi level marketing) wore green carnation in the lapel of their coats as a subtle hint that they love other men. The two main characters ( the widower and the confidant ) were both male, so that's why she chose that title. Also, in these short stories, people were much more accepting.

Name: Joanne Redd
Age: 30
Era: 1920s [1922]
Joanne Redd is a British soprano who's also Cosette's friend. She met Cosette on her debut in France, around 1910. She's happily married with Jameson Hart (She goes with her maiden name), a baker.
--------------------------------------------------
13th of June, 1920.
Cosette tried to recall everything that has happened for some few months ago.
It's been about five months since she divorced him, and four months since she finally met Louisette after years of being not able to.
Louisette was so kind to her and they called and wrote to each other when they were both too busy to visit each other.
She also agreed to accompany her to concerts and parties and events, and when the people there said they'll be a good couple, both of them will blush, and Cosette will giggle shyly.
But why did I giggled? Cosette thought. Do I have feelings for her? I do not, I definitely do not.
"Mama, why aren't you eating your dinner?" Aurelie's voice returned Cosette back to reality. "Nothing. Just some thoughts," she replied.
It must've been the wine she drank in the evening, Cosette thought. After she brushed her teeth and tucked Aurelie in to her bed, Cosette lied on her bed.
She thought sleeping will stop those thoughts, but no. All she can think of is Louisette, how they met at that dinner party, how kind she was to her, how pretty she is...
How much she adores Louisette.
Cosette had gave up, accepting the fact that she, indeed, has romantic feelings for her friend. But she's afraid, what if Louisette started to avoid her if she knows?
I'll try to keep this a secret, Cosette swore to herself, before she fell asleep at last.
New short story go yeet–
23rd of April, 1920
Louisette was busy with her work. She rereads her handwritten script and crossed some parts here and there.
"Ah, dear lord! Why on earth I made so many mistakes in just one paragraph?! And I hadn't started on describing the clothes.. where can I found something, or anything about late 1820s men's fashion?!"
As someone who was a history major, Louisette based a lot of her novels on history. Her work in progress, When Sunflowers change to Green Carnations, is a novel about a widower who fell in love with his confidant, set in the late 1820s, 1829 to be exact.
And it was hard to find information about the fashion of that time; she only knew that the early 19th century fashion was different from the other decades. She heard some false information about how ladies of that time didn't wore their stays anymore, for the waistline of dresses is right under the bust, and that was it.
Louisette decided that she'll rest for a while, and called Cosette.
"Hello, may I talk to Madame Pellerin–"
"Louisette! Oh my goodness, do you know what day is today?"
"What day is it?" Louisette asked, puzzled.
"It's Aurelie's 5th birthday! Come here, Aurelie, talk to Madame Guillaume!"
Aurelie spoke to the phone. "Hello, Madame Guillaume."
"Hello, Aurelie. Happy birthday to you."
"And what do we say, sweetie?"
"Merci beaucoup!"
"Good. Now, can you go to another room for a while, Aurelie? I want to talk to my friend."
Louisette was curious. Why did she asked Aurelie to leave her alone? Is she going to tell her something?
"So, Louisette, how you're doing?"
"Good."
"How's your novel going?"
"Still stuck on a paragraph. Don't know what men in the late 1820s wore."
"A friend of mine has some fashion plates from late 18th century to 1910s. I'll ask his permission for you to borrow them."
"Thank you–"
"But on one condition," said Cosette. "I'm invited to someone's wedding next Friday, I think his name's Henry something.. He told me to bring a date, and I don't know who to bring, so.. Will you go with me? As a friend?"
Louisette thinks about it for a while. "I.. guess?"
Cosette giggled. "Alright, then. Would you like to stay here for some time before the day?"
"I think I'm going to go to your house on Monday."
"See you later!"
Some addition:
• Cosette's birthday is 18th of February (it's actually a little reference to some historical fact)
• Louisette's birthday is 21st of January (it's the birthday of my primary school friend's crush lol)
• And Aurelie's birthday is 23rd of April!
I'm bored, so here's some stuff (plus some revisions) about my OCs!
• (revision) Cosette and Louisette met at a dinner party host by Cosette's parents. They invited Louisette's parents because they're friends. Louisette's parents brought her to the dinner party and she met Cosette there. Cosette was almost 25 y.o. and Louisette was 21 y.o.
• They started dating on 18/02/1921
• Aurelie studied at a girls only dormitory school after she finished primary school.
• Cosette only got to see one of her granddaughter, who is named after her.
• Louisette is both a novelist and a journalist. She once wrote an article about her friend's ex-husband.
• Cosette can play the piano (her father taught her), and so can Louisette, but Cosette is better.
• Cosette's mother taught her to sing when she was 5 y.o.
• Louisette majored in history, while Cosette majored in music.
• Nocturne ( Cosette's cat ) was a stray cat. Cosette adopted him on January 1920, after she went back from the courthouse.
(TW: Mention of death)
• Cosette has an older brother. She also would've had a younger sibling, but her younger sibling died at birth.
Behold, the excerpt of the letter I quoted
“I am longing to press you to my chest, and to tell you - face to face - what you mean to me. Love me as I adore you.”
— Nicolò Paganini in a letter to Luigi-Guglielmo Germi, from Paganini, le magicien by Renée De Saussine
I did it, y'all. I LIKED MY OWN PHOTO HAHAHHhahahhaHahahah
No problem!
Can we talk about THE GUITAR PIECES OF PAGANINI. Jisus, I can’t stop feeling like they’re so underrated, I mean- Listen, I’’m never romantic about music because of personal stuff, but damn… ‘Romanza’. ROMANZA. I feel like seeing a yard of just herb and butterflies flying around. It’s beautiful. And ‘Grand Sonata’ feels pretty nostalgic (maybe because my country took it to make a kids melody…. yikes). It’s just a safe comfort place when I listen to it. And not gonna imagine how GOOD could be the guitar piece he dedicated to Germi…
The piece he dedicated to Germi is guitar quartet no. 14, right? I found some recording of that piece! (The movements are separated though)
Movement I:
Movement II:
Movement III:
Movement IV:

(There's a slight mention of an unhealthy relationship)
Louisette stepped out of her car. It's been a long drive from her hometown to Paris, the city her friend lived in. She stood in front of a two-story house and pressed the doorbell. A black-haired woman, wearing a simple dress, opened the door.
"Bonjour, Cosette," greeted Louisette.
"Oh,my! Mon amie, why didn't you tell me you're going to visit me? I would've dressed more neatly!" Cosette pulled Louisette into a hug. She hugged her for a while.
Louisette smiled. "You look much more happier than before, friend. Didn't hear anything about him?"
"No, except from that article you wrote last week!" Cosette said. "I don't know why did you publish it, Louisette. Being separated from him is already enough for me."
"He didn't work his way to fame, Cosette. He just rode on yours. And that man– that man wasn't grateful enough to treat you nicely. He hurted you! People should know about how bad that Beaumont was!"
Cosette sighed. "I didn't mean it that way. What I mean is, why are you doing so many things for me, Louisette? You wrote that novel dedicated to me, and you were there for me when I was with him, and now you let people know about how he mistreated me.. How can I thank you?"
"No need to thank me. It's just what friends do, you know, helping each other."
"I guess you're right. Wait, I didn't notice you were still outside! Come in, come in! Also, you haven't seen my daughter, Aurelie, haven't you?"
Louisette lets Cosette hold her hand, leading her to the kitchen. Cosette introduced her to Aurelie and Cosette's maid, Marie. She also met Cosette's cat, Nocturne. It felt relieving for her to see Cosette feeling better.
Maybe staying here for a few days isn't a bad idea, Louisette thought.
And she was right.
Here's some lettering art I made. It's not much, but I'm still proud of it. I took the quote from a letter hehe
Me: I must focus on making backstories first and make ship art later.
Also me: Haha ship art go brr
(The reason Cosette look so much shorter than Louisette is because she's laying on Louisette's chest and she slept while curling up into a ball)
A week ago, my school gave me a certificate for getting the silver medal for National Science Olympics (the winner for each medal is more than one). The competition's name might be National Science Olympics, but there are a lot of separate subjects ( for the selection, I won silver for English and math, which is the medal required for passing, and on the final, I won silver only in English). After they finished taking a picture of me holding the certificate, I went back to my seat with my girl classmates. My crush called me cool and I was so happy aaaaaa
So my class took a class picture and for a girls only picture , the teacher who photographed us asks us to, like, hug the person next to us from the back and lean to them and the girl next to me is my crush aaaaaa
I know that I kinda hinted it in my blog's header, but I'm still gonna tell it directly because it feels better this way, to be completely open about myself.
I'm bi.

Hi
So, uh, I'm not gonna post about Cosette, Louisette, or Aurelie for now because idk what to write. Sorry.
I might not write about them, but I just drew a picture of Cosette and Lou! (Also, I'm thinking about making them lovers 👀)

OC [ Original Character ]
--------------------------------------------------
Name: Aurelie Pellerin
Age: 7
Era: 1920s [1922]
Aurelie Pellerin is the daughter of Antoine Beaumont and Cosette Pellerin. After her parents separated, she lived with her mom and took her last name. She will study on primary school next year.
--------------------------------------------------
So, I'm going to write some stories about Cosette, Louisette, and Cosette's daughter Aurelie. The stories probably are oneshots, and Nocturne, Cosette's cat, might appear in some of them.
