JRWI Riptide: Ruthlessness Animatic (unfinished), based on episode 15

This is ANCIENT. I never finished it in time (it was planned for Valentine's day last year, and then I lost motivation... )

I kinda still like some of the shots and the way I edited the audio, but man, I would change SO much now. I worked super hard on the finished parts back then, so I thought I'd share IT half-finished, why not :D

I really want Price and Lizzie to interact in canon but not know who the other is (specifically in regards to Chip) Because I think 1) it would be angsty for Chip 2) It'd be interesting to see Price in a scenario being forced to work with someone on a peer level or even in a subordinate role (or at least pretend to) because so far we've only seen how controls others. 3) We could really get into which lines Lizzies is willing to cross in order to win against the Navy in a war and the character complexes of that.

And I know at the moment we're not sure if Price is still in that whole evil eye coma thing but it would be cool if he decided or was convinced to join the pirate alliance with Lizzie. Because it would be beneficial for Price and Lizzie if they ally.

For Price: He says he's a pirate but I think he's more of businessman and he cares more about his assets in the Dark Port and the near total control he has in that area than sailing with his crew. Man wants money and capitalist expansion and it would be way easier to expand his influence into the rest of All-Port if Navy didn't literally have the headquarters right in the city center. So a complete overthrow or at least disruption of the Navy would absolutely help him.

For Lizzie: She's not going to win this war as long as R.A.F.T remains organized and we know that the R.A.F.T building in All-Port is the nexus of communication between all the other R.A.F.T headquarters (and possibly also Undersea operations). Taking that location down would take Lizzie war effort from impossible to possible in my opinion. And Price is the only pirate that has managed to keep footing in All-Port at all. So using Price as an entry point to hit the Navy would make a lot of strategical sense.

And it would be really really fun and awesome (would be emotionally devastating and make me cry), if Lizzie, only after allying with Price, talks to Chip and introduces him to the allies she's gathered and Price is among them and like what they do with that.

Do Chip and Price pretend to not know each other?

Does Chip confront immediately and Lizzie loses her alliance and how she works around that?

Does Price sabotage his own plan in order to get revenge on Chip?

Does Chip tell Lizzie who Price is in private and Lizzie has to decided whether on not to keep this alliance? Or how would she decided to break the alliance, does she now have to plan to double-cross Price?

When Price finds out Chip is there; does he become a Navy mole in order sabotage Lizzie and hurt Chip by proxy?

Just a lot of horrible, horrible possibilities that I'm in love with.

Okay, I'm on episode 107 of Riptide, which is in the Black Sea Arc and I need to know why nobody told me how stressful this part of the show was going to be. All it's doing is making me have to seriously get a chew tool because I get bitey when I'm stressed. (It's still really good, I just am constantly worrying about everyone's well-being, especially Queen right now because they instantly turned pale upon entering the room with the captain)

Hey, I highly recommend checking out my YouTube channel, I have a video coming out tomorrow that is super important that I need people to watch. I won't go into too much detail here because I promised myself I was done posting about it, but long story short, I recently realized that I was being groomed, SAed, and manipulated by someone who I thought was a friend for 2 years.

The video coming out tomorrow goes into way more detail about it, but I seriously do not recommend checking it out with grooming, SA, guilt-tripping, pedophilia, and all that jazz isn't something you're fond of. This video is barely edited minus captions, the trigger warnings at the beginning, and a small message at the end, but it's something that I want to talk about and be able to move on from after the video is uploaded.

Bro, Generation Loss is going to be 2 years old in, like, a little over a month from now, that's crazy to me. You have no idea how much that show inspired me creatively. It's part of the reason I love overanalyzing stuff I enjoy, like Wonderlust or the ASMP. Hell, I have a whole NOTEBOOK dedicated to my theories and observations for GenLoss.

This show came to me during a time I really needed it. I was still dealing with the loss of my grandmother and I was stressed out from school. And then episode 1 came out, then 2, and then 3. I couldn't be there for the live streams of episode 1 and 2 because of tech issues (ep 1) and choir stuff (ep 2), but I was there for episode 3 and it was beautiful.

GenLoss is genuinely still one of my biggest hyperfixations. I got one of the posters from the store for my birthday last year, I started making edits for it, and it even inspired me to start my own horror project! So, overall, yes, I'm gushing about how much I love Generation Loss as a whole because the story is incredible and it's inspired me so much and I genuinely think you should check it out too.

Thank you Ranboo for making something so incredible that my brothers are sick of hearing me talk about it and thank you to the Generation Loss community for being the best fandom I've ever been a part of. Oh, and thank you to the fan-made GenLoss theorizing Discord server for being there and helping me understand the lore of the video game (which I have yet to touch lol).

I don’t like being referred to as a boy

Analysis of Octavia's Confrontation at Stolas in Season 2 Episode 12: Sinsmas From Someone Who Also Struggles With Depression (Spoilers for Helluva Boss under the cut)

I've been thinking about Helluva Boss's season 2 finale, Sinsmas episode, specifically the scene where Octavia is confronting Stolas and I wanted to give my 2 cents about that scene as someone who also takes medication for depression and has been doing so for a few years ago (featuring some info I remember from Intro to Psych).

Via stated that she was confused about why Stolas needed to have anti-depressants (or happy pills or whatever it's called in the Hellaverse), believing that she was doing something wrong and that's why he was taking them. Now, depression is when your brain struggles to make happy chemicals, specifically serotonin, so people who are diagnosed with depression are often given prescribed medication aka anti-depressants.

You can see on the label of the pill bottles that Via finds in that episode that it's prescribed to Stolas, so it's likely he was diagnosed with depression and he takes anti-depressants to help his brain produce serotonin. And obviously, after Mastermind, he missed several days of dosages, which explains his mental breakdown later in Sinsmas. As someone who has accidentally missed a few days' worth of dosages, mental breakdowns are likely going to happen more frequently because your brain lacks serotonin.

Via being confused about Stolas needing anti-depressants is understandable, especially since he probably wasn't sure how to explain his depression to his 17-year-old daughter, which is partially the reason Via's confronting him because he wasn't being upfront about his mental health. But the hiding of his depression could be because he didn't feel safe enough to talk about it, especially because of Stella. Another reason could be that he didn't want to stress Via out with that information. After all, she would probably try harder to be a better daughter, even though it's not her fault. She's young, she's bound to think that kind of stuff when it comes to one of her parents' mental health.

Now, this isn't a hate post for the episode, I really enjoyed that episode and I'm hyped for Season 3. Like I said, this is just me giving my 2 cents about that scene as someone who is also medicated for depression. I love Stolas and Octavia so much and I can see where both sides are coming from in the confrontation. Both have flawed logistics for doing the things they're doing, which is natural in an argument. So yeah!

Lemme know if you guys have any other thoughts on that scene and if I should talk about anything else related to Helluva Boss as someone who struggles with mental health issues. I haven't finished the episode yet, I have like half an hour left, but when I was watching that scene where Blink could've died, all I could think of was this: What would Aeon's reaction be to losing both of her childhood friends so suddenly?

I mean, she didn't even get to properly say goodbye to Blink and she heard what he said to her. What if she found him dead at Cogtopolis and realized that she never got to properly explain herself or say goodbye? Just like with Candle. That moment when Runt from JRWI Wonderlust suddenly becomes way too relatable and it causes you to remember something that happened to you 7 or 8 years ago-

This was something that happened in 6th grade, which was obviously a long time ago for me now, but that scene with Runt yelling at WD for lying made me remember this moment that I had nearly forgotten about. Again, this happened a while ago, so bear with me because I may not remember all the details.

There was this boy I had been friends with since elementary school, his name was Nic. He was in my last two classes of the day in 6th grade, which were history and math. In my history class, he treated me like a friend, because I was his friend, and for some time in my math class, he treated me like a friend then too.

However, my math teacher switched up the seating arrangements and had me sit next to a girl, with Nic and another boy behind me. The girl and the boy didn't treat me very well. They were both bullies to me and would say horrible things about me whenever they got the chance. And Nic joined them. He was suddenly not my friend anymore, but also still was at the same time.

That shit hurt, especially since I hadn't done anything to anyone. The biggest thing that the girl and boy would tell me is that my breath smells or I smell in general. And that hurt, because no matter how hard I tried, it was never enough to get them to stop and I felt trapped. I don't remember if I ended up moving seats to get away from them or if I put up with it until the teacher changed the seating chart again.

It was genuinely the most confusing experience for me because outside of math class, Nic was still my childhood friend, until we stepped foot in math class. It was so frustrating and confusing and to this day, I still don't understand why he did that to me. I haven't spoken to him or seen him since high school, and I didn't really talk to him during high school either. But yeah.

God, middle school was such a shitty time for me.

So, my older brother is spending his spring break at home with me and my family, which means he's staying in my room with me because we always grew up sharing a room. Now, I've gotten used to the bedroom just being mine because he has an apartment, which means he lives there until the lease ends.

So, since he is visiting, I get SO scared that I'm being too loud at night because I'm so used to it just being me. Like, even before I was careful because my parents' room is literally a wall away from mine and I don't want my dad to wake up grumpy and start yelling at me, but it's SO MUCH WORSE because he's literally in the same room as me!

I have a bunk bed and he's LITERALLY RIGHT BELOW ME WHILE I'M WATCHING STUPID VIDEOS WAITING TO BE TIRED!! And even then, I have to quietly bring my computer down from my bed (the top bunk) so I can play music while I sleep and and every time I make a noise that feels just the tiniest bit too loud, I freak the fuck out-

I'm not mad that my brother is visiting, I love seeing him, I'm just so scared I'll wake him up and he'll yell at me for being too loud TwT

Genuinely, I love getting my friends into my hyperfixations, it's so much fun. I got my friend Birdie into Epic The Musical today and she loved it! We even started planning a story we'll be writing together! I also got Luna into Riptide and Wonderlust and it's fun seeing her reactions to Riptide because I'm so much further ahead compared to her.

It makes me happy to see my friends enjoy things that I enjoy and it's just such a good feeling. I love making people happy so much, it's such a good feeling to be the reason someone smiles. Alright, gonna go back to binging, good night
