This rant is talking about why the arguments of toxic kiribaku shippers that they try to use to invalidate any Kirishima or Bakugou ship. I honestly don't care if you disagree with this, this isn’t any hate against KiriBaku or their nice shippers. KiriBaku is a ship that i enjoy and it is completely valid.  I just want to show people who are toxic shippers why other ships are valid such as BakuKami, TodoBaku, BakuDeku, KiriKami, KiriMina etc. I will be disproving all of the arguments that they use. Warnings for talk of abuse, suicide, manga spoilers and movie spoilers.

“Bakugou hates everyone except Kirishima.”

It has been mentioned plenty of times that Bakugou and Shouto are friends. It is canon that they are friends, Bakugou may try to deny it but he would deny being friends with  anyone (this includes kirishima) Bakugou is also friends with Kaminari, this is shown in the Provisional Hero Lincense Exam Arc, Heroes Rising, The Manga, and The School Festival Arc. The friendship between Shouto and Katsuki can be seen during the School Festival Arc, Redemical Course Arc, and other episodes and chapters in the Manga. 

 “Bakugou would be abusive to everyone except Kirishima.”

I hope you understand that you cat pick and choose who an abuser would be abusive to? An abuser is an abuser, there aren’t any exceptions. This excuse is trying to make everyone else look bad just so your ship can look ‘superior’. No ship is abusive unless you write it like that, it is all based on how you portray the ship.

“Horikoshi said they slept together!”

I would like to see the evidence of this, from what I am aware it was a rumour spread around via false information.

“Horikoshi said he would make it canon!” 

No, you took something he said, twisted it, then spread it around.

“You can tell by the way he looks at Bakugou!”

Eijirou looks the same at all his friends, he considers Bakugou his best-friend. Of course he is happy when he is around Bakugou. But he is also happy when he is around people like Midoriya, Kaminari and Sero. 

"I can't fathom why someone at someone and be like they belong with bakugo or kirishima" 

Because people ship different things?? That's like me saying I can't fathom why people would ship bakugo with a girl bc I hc as gay

"They build each other up, perfectly"

 The perfect part is debatable, Kirishima lets Bakugo be a dick to him a lot and other shit but thats neither here nor there. They do build each other up but other characters also build both of them up, they're also canonically best friends so it'd be weird if they didn't imo. 

"They make each other better healthier people" 

See my points above. ^

"How do you see that and go nah they dont have chemistry" 

No ones saying they don't have chemistry, they're saying they dont think its romantic or see the romantic chemistry.

"Bakugo helps Kirishima see the value in himself" 

He does! But so do other characters, Deku, Mina, and Kaminari all help build Kirishima up notably, at least once, in the series. That's ignoring other characters too but whatever.

"Kirishima helps Bakugo see the value in others" 

Again, he does! But as I stated before other characters also do so. Either by showing they're as capable as him (Uraraka, Deku, Todoroki) or by being friends with him (Kirishima and Kaminari most notably)

In conclusion, KiriBaku is a very valid ship. But so are others, just be respectful of others ships. Bakugou and Eijirou have other friends, they have different interactions.

hang on. last night’s megamind rewatch has me thinking. all this time, i thought megamind’s mispronunciation of random words was just that weird type of dreamworks humor where it’s funny because it’s wrong and, you know, “so random lolol”

but when he mispronounced “melancholy,” i started thinking about how i mispronounced the word “leviathan” until junior year of high school because i’d only ever seen it written down, i’d never heard anyone say it out loud before. and i started thinking that maybe the mispronunciation thing is supposed to suggest that he’s been so lonely and unsocialized his entire life that he’s learned the english language out of books, i.e. by sight rather than by interacting with other people?! was this the point all along?! has this been obvious to everyone else who watched the movie?! my god i’ve been so blind

my working theory is that everyone who said they would leave tumblr after they banned porn really did leave for twitter and thats why tumblr has somehow gotten more bearable and twitter is now just. like that.

I’ve seen a lot of posts on my dash tonight about users who are threatening suicide, with other Tumblr members posting in effort to try to get ahold of them. I think you all should see this:

IF THERE IS EVER A TUMBLR USER WHO HAS POSTED A GOOD-BYE MESSAGE, SUICIDE NOTE, VIDEO, OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT, PLEASE FOLLOW THIS POST.

1. Scroll to the top of your dashboard.

2. See the circular question mark icon at the top? It’s the third one over from your home symbol. Click on that, and a screen similar to the one in the picture will come up.

3. Where you can type in questions, the box with the magnifying glass at the top, type in the word “suicide.”

4. Click on the first link that shows up. It should say, “Pass the URL of the blog on to us.”

5. Type in the user’s URL and tell Tumblr admin that the user is contemplating suicide and has posted a message indicating that they are going through with it or will be attempting. Hit send! Tumblr administration will perform a number of actions to contact the user and take the necessary steps to prevent the suicide.

TUMBLR: THIS COULD SAVE A USER’S LIFE. PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE SUICIDE THREATS.

Reblog this to keep other users aware. Suicide isn’t a joke, and neither is someone’s life. If you didn’t know this, someone else may not, either. Pass it on.

I doubt this is ever going to happen, but I can’t shake off the idea that if it did it would only make the story a lot more interesting tbh. Not necessarily better, since there’s about 30 different ways Hori could fuck that up, but nonetheless interesting. 

- For one, because there wouldn’t be a clear-cut way to win against Afo (assuming that Afo is the big bad of the story, and not Shig). So this would have to mean a Shig + Deku team up against him, as we all always wished would happen 

- Shigaraki could finally talk to the vestiges of Ofa, including his grandma, and learn the other side of the story Afo never bothered to tell him. Incidentally, he’d also learn the truth about Afo’s manipulation and ruthlessness. 

- Deku would finally be the first quirkless hero he deserved to be from the start, with no bullshit chosen one narrative that takes away from his ability to empathize with people, aka what was supposed to be Deku’s defining trait as a protagonist 

- Honestly, it’s just… a great moral bitchslap for Gran Torino tbh, and he is just asking for one after abandoning Nana’s grandson and repeatedly saying he deserves to stay with his abuser

- Making Shigaraki even more OP could spectacularly backfire and make him another Madara Uchiha, but it could also mean that to take him down they’d actually be forced to use the talking approach. And the series desperately needs less punching and more self-reflection 

so… all I’m saying is to consider this for fic purposes

THIS ARGUMENT IS NOT VALID!

KIRISHIMA IS NOT KATSUKI’S ONLY FRIEND.

Also he calls Kirishima mean nickanmes to do with his hair? He called Eijirou ‘Kirishima’ once because he was concerned about him. You silly people. 

Stop using that excuse to invalidate Bakugou ships. And you can not use that if you are not anti-endeavour, anti-mitsuki or anti-mineta. 

If he would be abusive to one person, he will be abusive to e v e r y o n e no exceptions. Abusers are abusers and you cant change that. There is no exceptions, ok? Lets talk about why it is invalid with certain ships.

Bakugou x Denki. (KAMIBAKU)

They are friends, they have multiple interactions where they aren’t fighting. Denki is not scared of Bakugou at all, he just doesn’t like the yelling. He stands up to Bakugou plenty of times. He has called Bakugou ‘Kacchan without death. Or even Bakugou yelling at him. He has willing sat with Kaminari on multiple occasions when Kirishima was available. 

In season four, somehow, Kaminari was the only one who knew Bakugou used to take drum lessons. ANd yOU ARe telLing Me they aren’t FrIENds.

Bakugou x Todoroki (TODOBAKU)

Todoroki is not afraid of Bakugou. Bakugou is only mean to him because of two things

1) he sees Todoroki as an equal competitor. 

2) The Sports Festival.

Todoroki is not afraid of Bakugou, their dynamic is amazing. And Bakugou is able to joke about Shouto. Does he make jokes around Kirishima? nO… NO HE DOES NOT.

See? Those are two perfectly valid ships, that people try to invalidate using that excuse. Kiribaku is valid but so is other ships.
