I’ve had a story idea rolling around my head for a long time and I’ve been basically spinning my wheels trying to hone my skills (read: procrastinating and doing a lot of unrelated things) to make it into a webcomic. Had a title picked out and everything that felt tonally relevant to the story and characters. I was going to call it Anywhere But Here; it seemed pertinent to this tone of restless personalities that are distinctly tied to the setting of the piece. I even recently reserved a tumblr url for that name (took me a while to find a variation that wasn’t already occupied).
I should’ve checked to be sure the name wasn’t already taken.
Not only are there several books by that name (I figured this was workable) there’s also a Natalie Portman film that comes up every time you google “Anywhere But Here”.
I spitballed about the pipe dream of someday having the goal of surpassing this movie in terms of google search result priority. And if that ever happened, tweeting at Natalie Portman as if it were something she would have given a crap about and probably she would never see it but it’d be dumb fun inside joke made very outside.
Then I decided to more specifically google “anywhere but here webcomic”
and wouldn’t you know it
In hindsight, you’d think that would’ve been my first step.
It’s some dumb newspaper comic style rag that hasn’t updated since 2006/2008/I don’t actually care when. Not something I’d really want to be accidentally associated with.
And just like that, down crashed any dreams of a fake made-up rivalry with Natalie Portman.
This is dang sick. Does anyone have more information on the production of this thing
WARNING: This film contains flashing lights which may not be suitable for photosensitive epilepsy
After a year or so at chipping away at this project I’m happy to finally share it with everyone! I couldn’t have done it without my amazing friends and hyper-talented crew! There’s a whole lot more to the universe and characters than are shown in the trailer so I’ll leave this small blurb here to hint at something larger:
“Analog, the last android in existence, is a fast and loud warrior with an axe to grind against the rulers of her world, but her mission of revenge might lead her to become the savior of something she couldn’t care less about - mankind.” ©Jeremy Polgar 2016 All rights reserved
I hope you enjoy!
Please be sure to check out the music from the trailer by Perturbator and SUNG!!!
Unfortunately some had been reblogged or replied to, but not much, so it's okay.
No more opinions or writing on this blog. Just poorly-done cartoon photoshops.
Thought up a ton of “lore” stuff that fills a bunch of gaps in a story I’ve been ruminating on for years now. Added it to the running document I have about this stuff, and now it’s a bigger mess of disorganized text. I came across my old concept drawings of the characters, and since I’ve barely even drawn since then I don’t know if at this point I could do any better, which is kinda sad. My ambition far exceeds my skill, and even exceeds my drive to act on any of it. Maybe I should post some of this stuff; it’s not good enough to be worth stealing, and perhaps putting it out there would motivate me more to actually flesh it out and start drawing more.
I'm about to quit the internet (and most other forms of entertainment media) for at least two years.
I'm going to become a missionary for my church (LDS). I'll be serving in an area near DC in Virginia.
This of course means this blog will be completely inactive.
So
bye I guess.
Ugh, Capcom, stop milking your games so much. Mary-Kate and Ashley should have been a part of the vanilla game, not in separate DLC packs almost a year after release. We all know the data for them is on the disc, knock it off.
Look, I just make the jokes that by all means someone else should have made by now. Youtube videos infrequently.
