I finally saw the Lady Layton trailer. I like her look, but it felt like it was lacking something critical, so I did a quick mockup redesign
level5 pls hire me.
Some bits from the Nintendo Switch conference.
don’t know if I ever asked this here but
In a story I’ve had rolling around my head for a few years, there’s a prominent protagonist named Kat. Recently, I’ve been wondering if that’s actually a terrible protagonist first name, given the prominence of various permutations of Katherine as names for main characters in YA fiction in the past 15 or so years. I’m wondering if that’s something I could play off of (her last name would be some sort of play on the words “last name” due to a paperwork mishap generations ago, which, coupled with a cliche first name, could be almost a dig at protagonist names in general), or if I should just change it to something less cliche.
Thoughts?
Done.
I will pay someone to "Celine-the-Scene" where Marco grabs Star's hand, preventing her from being sucked into the green vortex. (AKA replacing the background soundtrack of the scene with the iconic song 'My Heart Will Go On' by Celine Dion, featured in the Titanic.
Fandom, assemble.
The new Jojo game for the Switch looks pretty rad.
I’ve had a story idea rolling around my head for a long time and I’ve been basically spinning my wheels trying to hone my skills (read: procrastinating and doing a lot of unrelated things) to make it into a webcomic. Had a title picked out and everything that felt tonally relevant to the story and characters. I was going to call it Anywhere But Here; it seemed pertinent to this tone of restless personalities that are distinctly tied to the setting of the piece. I even recently reserved a tumblr url for that name (took me a while to find a variation that wasn’t already occupied).
I should’ve checked to be sure the name wasn’t already taken.
Not only are there several books by that name (I figured this was workable) there’s also a Natalie Portman film that comes up every time you google “Anywhere But Here”.
I spitballed about the pipe dream of someday having the goal of surpassing this movie in terms of google search result priority. And if that ever happened, tweeting at Natalie Portman as if it were something she would have given a crap about and probably she would never see it but it’d be dumb fun inside joke made very outside.
Then I decided to more specifically google “anywhere but here webcomic”
and wouldn’t you know it
In hindsight, you’d think that would’ve been my first step.
It’s some dumb newspaper comic style rag that hasn’t updated since 2006/2008/I don’t actually care when. Not something I’d really want to be accidentally associated with.
And just like that, down crashed any dreams of a fake made-up rivalry with Natalie Portman.
This is dang sick. Does anyone have more information on the production of this thing
WARNING: This film contains flashing lights which may not be suitable for photosensitive epilepsy
After a year or so at chipping away at this project I’m happy to finally share it with everyone! I couldn’t have done it without my amazing friends and hyper-talented crew! There’s a whole lot more to the universe and characters than are shown in the trailer so I’ll leave this small blurb here to hint at something larger:
“Analog, the last android in existence, is a fast and loud warrior with an axe to grind against the rulers of her world, but her mission of revenge might lead her to become the savior of something she couldn’t care less about - mankind.” ©Jeremy Polgar 2016 All rights reserved
I hope you enjoy!
Please be sure to check out the music from the trailer by Perturbator and SUNG!!!
Look, I just make the jokes that by all means someone else should have made by now. Youtube videos infrequently.
