A small sketch of ashen teenagers. I don't think there are only three children of the age of Ttrong, Oare and Txon in the clan. And here's a squad of Pandora's tightly beaten teenagers!
Western Frontier Landscapes part 1 of ?? I apparently have a lot of older photos I need to go through š
I love Neytiri, as a character all her actions make sense. Does that mean she's always right? No. Did she make mistakes... maybe as much as Jake did but I'm not gonna get into details with that.
That beeing said, I do not think she's racist... but she need the nav'i equivalent of a therapist. So much happened to her and she needs help or she's gonna go crazy. It's not healthy to have such a problem with a litteral child, even he has a link to a horrible person that you hate.
no, neytiri is not a āracist bigot towards humansā. no, she was never a hypocrite for marrying jake but mistrusting spider.
she is completely unequivocally justified in hating humans. this inverse racism/bigotry isnāt a thing. humans took everything from her, they invaded and destroyed her land, bombed her home, killed half of her family and slaughtered her people. she has every damn right to loathe humans as a whole.
but jake? jake is the exception. he was personally mentored by her, he was taught the way of the na'vi and is officially part of the omatikaya. and when he betrayed her, he underwent impossible lengths to protect her and the people by becoming toruk makto and literally turning his back from his species forever. again: he is the exception. it was jakeās job to prove that he was different. it was NOT neytiriās job to change her mind about humans.
and obviously she recognizes that not all of them are like that. but that doesnāt mean she has to like them. she tolerates the scientistsā presence but doesnāt interact with them. and why should she?
the reason she mistrusts spider (not full on despise him, like a lot of people think) is not that heās human, but that heās quaritchās son. does he deserve it? no. is he innocent? of course. should he be blamed for his fatherās sins? obviously not. but is neytiriās position completely absurd and incomprehensible? absolutely not.
also: you are talking about the little girl that was excited about learning from humans, that was curious about them, that was one of graceās students that loved her and viewed her as a mother. her hate doesnāt come from nothing. it began with immense loss and none of us have the right to judge her for that or say that her feelings are extreme.
So I know I haven't said much about the twins in the spouses friend group universe but that's mainly because I'm still on the fence whether or not I want them to be biologically Phillip's where he's coparenting with Marina or go down the show route where they are biologically George's and Phillip ends up taking them in. Or even just having Phillip be the fun uncle.
But like I'm imagining cute scenes where the friend group take the twins on little adventures with them. Like they used to get up to some shit before the twins were born and then after Phillip would strap them babies in a stretchy wrap and take them with him as his friends dragged all three out the door.
And Phillip trusts his kids with any of friends. They're all responsible and would not let anything happen to them. Uncle Michael shows them how to make cool (non alcoholic) drinks, Aunt Penelope tells the best stories, Uncle Simon gives the best presents. Aunt Sophie and Uncle Gareth gives them cool (completely temporary and child safe) tattoos, and lets them color in their tattoos. Aunt Kate and Aunt Lucy lets them see all kinds of animals at Kate's clinic, plus Newton can tire them out and they can tire out Newton.
I'm not sure. What do you guys think?
@browneyesandhair unearthed a bunch of my spouses friend group posts and now it has given me an idea. Set in the spouses friend group au but also throw in some omegaverse au too.
Simon was getting twitchy lately. His eye would randomly flinched, his hands would shake, and when seated he found himself more often than naught bouncing his leg. It was becoming irritating. Damn these pack instincts! This is what he gets for making friends, they trick him into becoming a pack leader and then he gains pack instincts. Those same damn instincts makes him twitchy when he goes too long without seeing all the members of his pack or smelling their scent. Anything to know they are ok!
Everyone has been away on different trips for the past two weeks as well. Kate is visiting a clientās farm since sheās one of the few vets that know how to treat peafowl in the nearby area. Sophie was traveling for a tattoo convention that sheās been excited about. The trio has traveled to Crete, Penelope for work, Phillip to go see the oldest olive tree, and Michael just refused to be left behind. Gareth and Lucy went on a college trip for an archeology class Gareth convinced Lucy to take with him. So yeah Simon really hasn't even had at least one of them around to settle himself.
Aunt Agatha is no help either, she just laughs at him whenever he goes off on rants about how his little pack, that he didn't even ask for nor does he know how he ended up as pack leader, is driving him up a wall.
But it will be ok, they are all due to come home soon. Then Simon can relax and have some help eating the dozens of cookies he's stressed baked the past week and a half. It helps that he's managed to herd them all living together in this stupidly enormous house he inherited.
Simon pulled out his phone.
*In the group chat*
Simon: All of you come straight home after you get back. No side stops.
Michael: Uh, oh, alpha daddy is daddying
Kate: Michael, Penelope, Gareth, have any of you been stressing out Simon again?
Gareth: US?!?!?
Penelope: Michael and I have been in Crete. . .WITH PHILLIP. You think he's gonna let us ruin his chances at seeing the oldest olive tree?
Phillip: I would have buried you two.
Sophie: And then dig them right back up. You three would not survive without one another.
Gareth: And I've been at a dig site with Lucy. How are we gonna stress Simon out at a dig site? š
Lucy: TBH I thought he saw that picture of us eating that ancient jar of honey.
Simon: YOU ATE WHAT?!?!
"YOU ATE WHAT?"
Simon felt his shoulders relax when seven distinct smells hit him, followed by seven different voices. The loudest being Kate's as she's questioning Gareth and Lucy. The phone slipped from his hand and lightly landed on the countertop.
His pack was home.
Now, he had to join Kate on scolding some naughty pups. Them being in University is irrelevant.
all this talk about wishing they'd turn sophie into a man

Iām going to try to be careful with my words because my intentions are never to upset anyone especially members of a fellow marginalized community that I personally donāt belong too. I am disappointed in the rewriting of Francescaās story. A big part of her book is her deep love for John Sterling and struggle with infertility. She loved John more than anything and when he died she mourned for yearsss and only rejoined the marriage market because she desperately wanted kids of her own after losing their child. I understand queer representation is important to those in the LGBTQ+ community, but there are many books about LGBTQ+ love that Netflix could adapt into a show or movie. Heartstopper is an example of one theyāve adapted and Iāve seen so many people who love and resonate with that show. Or an alternative would be to make Eloise lesbian/bi because it would make more sense. Thereās very little representation in media for women who struggle with infertility and Iāve heard from many women whose favorite book was Francescaās because of how they related to her struggle. Not only that, but they made her immediately develop a crush on Michaela when in the books itās Michael who immediately falls for Francesca upon meeting her and he struggles with those feelings when before and especially after John dies. To make Francesca have feelings for Michaela completely diminishes her love for John that makes her mourning so strong. Michael also has a big internal conflict with inheriting the Kilmartin estate after Johnās death. This also takes representation from women who have lost their husbands while pregnant with their child(ren). Majority of the people I know who are upset about it arenāt upset because of Francescaās sexuality but because of how it throws away her whole story. One of my best friends is a black woman who is bi and has read all the books and before I even finished part 2 she was texting me upset because she herself has had a miscarriage and loved Francescaās story.
