Well, folks, it's been another week on Tumblr. Last week:
The Rose's Woosung charmed us all with Truths, Dares, and Woolfy (that dog truly is a gift).
@marvelstudios announced an Answer Time with Simu Liu! So, if you've got any burning questions for Simu about Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, send 'em in, and he might just answer them on August 30th.
The delightful @thelaurenshippen sat down to answer your questions about her official Stranger Things podcast, Surviving Hawkins—a companion to A.R. Capetta's official Stranger Things novel Rebel Robin. That's a good amount of Stranger Things to keep us all entertained while we wait for that sweet, sweet Season 4.
And finally, we launched wip.tumblr.com! This is your opportunity to join the conversation and let us know your thoughts on Tumblr. You've been busy writing in, and we're looking forward to replying to some of your queries this week, so watch this space.
Oh, and if you like knowing things—like, say, what's new, or newly fixed, on Tumblr—then follow @changes for weekly updates. Nice. That's all for now. Here's to another week on Tumblr.
I wasn't very kind to myself for a really long time and I'm trying to learn that now. So do what you need to do, and push yourself, but also forgive yourself if you fuck it up, or if you're struggling.

Hey friends,
How are you? I have great news!! I got an A+ (1.0) in the hardest exam ever. I screamed so loud, I really could not believe it! It was the course I had feared the most. Mathematics have never been my favorite, so I really had to force myself to study - and it payed off. I'm really on the road of graduating with a 1.0 (A+) avarage and that just feels amazing. In the pictures you can see me studying for this exam. <3
Have an amazing day,
Sophia

This may be stating the obvious very plainly, but every genre has an accompanying emotion that it is meant to evoke. They are:
Fantasy - Wonder
Sci-Fi - Wonder
Romance - Love/Warm Fuzzies/Heat
Mystery - Curiosity
Thriller - Anxiety/Anticipation
Horror - Anxiety/Fear/Anticipation
There are other genres and other emotions they're meant to evoke, but at least once in every story you have to hit these notes. A fantasy novel where nothing is out of the ordinary is just a historic fiction, which is a great genre! But it is not fantasy! Without the wonder of magic or strange cities or weird curses, it isn't what the reader wants.
