about Taika Waititi in few words

making films is a hard job, but making comedies? urghh...not for everyone

I’ve never seen such a vivid clumsy just fucking great shots as Taika does - just look at the first shot of “What We Do In Shadows” and you’ll get what I mean my story with Taika have started from the “Thor: Ragnarok” when I realised that it looks different, not like all the Marvel’s movies, it looks more even like a real comic book I would say! I was sitting in the cinema watching it and loosing my mind second movie I saw was “What We Do In Shadows“ and it is still the best comedy I’ve ever seen, it is a gold of comedy really why? well, Taika makes laugh not only with witty dialogs and jokes, but even with shots (Nick coming through window, come on! genious!) characters are ridiculous, the way they stand and speak, and oh! the language! the realism is gorgeous, they speak like real humans, like they were not written, like they are really exist that’s why I can say that Taika is very good in  Wittgenstein’s language games the way you build the phrase is influence on the perception and Taika is totaly influence! he is a big child and he is a comedy himself bcs he is so funny and lovely and such a comedian even when he speaks (pls TED’s one, amazing, watch-watch lovelovelove) basically lots of love watch his movies and you will laugh to the tears I guarantee P. casual reminder that grandmaster:

flirted with loki and let it go when loki didn’t appreciate it

made sure valkerie/brunnhilde knew that he didn’t think she was trash and corrected topaz openly for saying as much

made sure valkerie/brunnhilde got an award worthy of the work she’s done

refused to use the melting stick on loki for simply interrupting him, acknowledging it was overkill and said as much

let thor stay with hulk for reasons I don’t understand and didn’t make him fight again (yes, out of secrecy, but still)

valkerie was absolutely willing to stay on sakaar and work for grandmaster, even if it was because she was running away from her past

didn’t kill valkerie and loki outright when his most precious fighters escaped and even gave them the chance to bring him back

seriously, this guy has (in the comics at least) telepathy

regardless of what powers he has in the movie, he’s 13.7 billion years old he’s smarter and more powerful than you might think

if he does have literally any powers from the comics aside from his immortality, he can smoke pretty much anyone who’s not thanos, but doesn’t because he doesn’t really like physical confrontation (other people fighting is another thing)

aside from his fighters/slaves, his people (to me, at least) looked pretty happy? idk, cheering and roaring in the stands, parades in the street, etc. could just be me being biased.

yes, he’s a dick and has slaves and is more of a villain than anything, but what im trying to say is I don’t think he’s such the predator/rapist that y'all make him out to be. people can be fucking assholes and not be sexual predators. that’s a concept that exists.
