Myth X Lucette "050. Breaking The Rules" Dabble?

Myth x Lucette "050. Breaking the Rules" dabble?

050 - Breaking the Rules

There were many rules applying to a princess. Social ones, etiquette and sometimes simply expectations about how a princess currently had to behave. There were always witnesses for behavior. Family, servants, chaperons or maybe even guests.

Currently there was no one outside of Myth. And the level of freedom that added to their interaction was exhilerating like the first time she had channeld magic freely in an appropriate open space.

There were no roaming hands or deep kisses belonging into back alleys. Lucette was no fan of there things. But despite everything Myth was clingly and just like herself loved to be close enough to her for touch. Holding each other. Being closer than was approopriate. Kisses were a rare thing, both were not quite sure how to add to their current relationship.

But both needed the touch. The contact. No matter the rules, expectations or opinions. Touch made it real, where words were simply lacking.

And Lucette would willingly break many kinds of rules to keep that assurance that everything between them was real.

i was thinking moonlight with MythLu? thank u. sorry for bothering u.

You aren’t a bother. If writing was a bother, my ask box wouldn’t be open.

108 - Moonlight

The moon was bright in the sky, turning the room into a strange pattern of shadows and strange patches of white and different shades of gray.

And Myth couldn’t sleep. He had fallen asleep, woken up, due to a nightmare, he couldn’t remember clearly anymore and then had found himself laying awake, heart still beating to fast, thoughts still running. Normally, he would have gotten up, left the bed and found himself a book. There was always paperwork in his office, waiting to ge finished.

But he wasn’t alone and there wasn’t paperwork needed to distract himself from these feelings anymore.

His Princess, to be his Queen (always his Goddess, but he had the feeling, she wouldn’t react well to that title) was still asleep, the moonlight illuminating her form.

He didn’t dare to cast a mage light, she had proven before that she was sensitive enough to notice, even when asleep and it was enough that he was awake. And the moon was bright enough anyway.

He watched her for a bit, before he carefully reached out and grabed her hand. Both of them didn’t sleep well too close to each other. As nice as the feeling was, it felt restrictive to sleep like that. Trapped.

It was enough if the other one was there when they woke up, not that they slept together often. The king just wasn’t sure how to find a chaperon that could keep a good eye on them, regarding how both of them could magically change places.

Closing his eyes again, he concentrated on listening to her breaths and the fingers around his, he drifted off back to sleep. Even so, he was sure that her grip tightened at some point.

I feel like I need to apologize, because the other one wasn’t a drabble at all and not even real angst. Have something morey angsty instead.

Sometimes Myth saw things that weren’t there. It wasn’t following a patter he could control. Work came in waves, cutting his sleep and with a tired mind, his eyes played tricks on him.

There were shadows reaching for him, fires reaching up to the ceiling, the coppery smell of blood choking him. Then something startled him out of it, mostly the sudden screams echoing in his own head.

The world was unfair. Crying for the past and lost things was useless. He still sometimes wished he had never needed to learn it. He would need to live with his nightmares.

Fire was the worst, flickering in each fireplace, bright and happy and crackling, accompanied by the phantom smell of burned flesh summoning the urge to run, run, run! He wasn’t sure if that-if he ever gave in to that urge again- he could run far enough to forget this time around that he was the only one left of that place he had called home once.

108 - Moonlight

The moonlight remembered Myth of the Crystallum temporarily under his care. It was silverfish white, not blinding and -like the Crystallum at the moment- only shining in the dark.

And just like the moon was mirrored by the sun with its warm golden light, the Tenebrarum was mirrored by the Lucis, radiating warmth were the witch crystal was always emitting cold.

Myth could still remember the fight between the bearers back then (an occasion where he hadn’t tried his luck and got away to a safe distance to not become collateral damage), as both temperatures had dipped into the uncomfortable to deadly extreme and clashed, the golden glow almost racing after him, as he had lunged around a corner.

It had been a good decision, for he had needed to get his queen to safety soon after.

This whole incident was also the reason why he preferred the moonlight over the sunlight. It was much easier to enjoy the light with the colour that hadn’t almost burned him out of his life back then. Even if the other party thought so.

how do you think a myth route would go, if it was canon?

Well…

Starting atthe beginning, I don’t think the prologue would change much, at most maybe thechoice to talk with Mythros a bit more than the short greeting in the hallway. Iguess the real first bigger change would happen in the Marchen, when you’resupposed to make a choice, who to ask for help.

In Fritz’sroute Lucette doesn’t ask anyone, but still ponders how to break her curse. Icould see her start doubting that Delora even spoke the truth about thebreaking conditions of the course, together with the trustworthiness of theother Marchen inhabitants. They trust Delora after all and Delora cursed her.

Resulting fromthe distrust she may strife to leave the Marchen more often, to get away frompeople, even without any protection -be it via magic or by having a bodyguard-and people are looking for her.

Someone mayapproach her -Myth has a big reward out for her- or maybe Fritz stumbles overher or maybe it gets late one time and Varg finds her. Or maybe she ends upnear the palace and Genaro sees her for some reason and gets scared, becauseshe does look like Hildyr and fromafar…

It would beenough for Myth to take a personal look at the surroundings.

In any caseLucette would learn pretty quickly that Myth has magic, because he remembersher. And also notice quickly that he is a witch, because a fairy wouldn’t behiding and you would need to have a good reason to hide being cursed.

Maybe hepretends that he is in the palace to prevent racism via laws by sabotaging them, maybe he finds another excuse for being at the palace. Maybe he even mentionsher mother to establish himself as more willing to share information than the peopleat the Marchen.

Despitethat Lucette may still need to return to the March at times. Parfait is abearer and still much stronger than Myth and Myth can’t afford being unmaskedas a witch.

Maybe heoffers her a fake job as an excuse to get her out of the palace. As a princessshe is educated after all. (Secretary, translator for something, administration, take your pick, in any case better than sweeping floors.)

Lucettewould maybe learn more of the Witch Hunts than of the Great War, interact withmore witches -Myth would have needed to be in contact with many of them to gettheir assistance in Rumpel’s route- and getting taken seriously instead ofgetting pestered about good deeds may even calm Lucette down a bit.

Being inMyth’s company would be an excuse to enter the palace as well and the two woulddefinitely have quite some time to talk. Maybe Emelaigne would start playing a biggerroll as well, I can see her being pretty interested into a new face at the palaceshe could talk to.

I couldimagine that Varg would also be present regularly and Myth may twist his reasonfor cursing Fritz a bit, as in it being better than the alternatives Alcastercould have done.

Myth wouldsurely also have a way to deal with Alcaster (I can imagine him poisoning theman or simply letting evidence be found after removing evidence pointing athimself. Or he pulls something similar as in Rod’s route.)

Improvementsin a relationship with him may be done by acknowledging that he has quite theskill with magic. Or simply not comparing him with Waltz. Seeing him as a talentedindividual may also help there. Getting this kind of positive attention mayvery well be what makes him split from Hildyr in the end. Maybe he puts Fritzinto a coma to keep Varg from drowning Fritz’s personality, maybe the two mergeand the curse breaks.

In a goodending… well, if they get together, people would in any case learn of him havingmagic, which would result in less hiding. He may simply claim he hid it toguard the Tenebrarum better. People may have panicked and tried to dispose ofthe late queen sleeping inside, destroying the crystal in the process. And theking was openly unapproving of witches, which may play a part as well.

In the badending… a lot of people die, I would say. Hildyr gets free. I don’t know if shewould kill Myth for his involvement with Lucette or if she would do somethingelse. Maybe Lucette ends up willingly following her mother’s lead once more, having learned what people did to the witches just for fearing them doing thehunts and remembering what people were like to her, when she didn’t even havepowers.

Or maybe Hildyrgets free in both endings. Maybe they double cross and dispose of her in publicto make sure no one doubts Myth’s loyalty despite having been her apprentice. Inthe bad ending as the ice queen, distrustful of human goodwill and unforgivingto people. Maybe there is a choice for her, to take the throne by force andmake herself queen by force, fighting and winning against the people of the Marchen. In the good ending she would let everything get sorted out and maybe even letit go piece by piece, having learned about human and magical evil.

I would atleast guess that we would see a lot more story about the War and the Hunt, Hildyrand magic in general.

15?

And here is another one.

015 - Emotionless

Beingemotionless would have been a blessing. It would make the whole thing so much easier!

But Mythwasn’t able to just kill off his emotions, his wants or his wishes. And so, hespent every single day since the rebellion seething on the inside, snarling atpeople celebrating about the queen’s death and cursing the traitor and the damnedfairy with every insult he could think off.

And laterfought back the desperation and depression pushing down at him, when he lookedat the sleeping face of his teacher. He couldn’t fail. He wouldn’t fail. But the fear of failure was gnawing at him, day andnight, every second he spent in his disguise.

Fear ate athim, anger boiled inside him, fury seemed to cloud his thoughts when his mindslipped away.

Being ridof these pesky feelings wasn’t possible. But it made the future of his queenreturning look so much sweeter, that it may even be worth it.

Hello I came to ask for Myth and friendship! I would like to see your take on Myth and Lucette (and maybe waltz) all being friends

Have a scenario were all three are getting along and Waltz and Myth try instructing Lucette on doing some magic from Lucette’s point of view.

It was apretty nice day, Lucette could admit that to herself. Even if it was still abit strange to spend days openly out of the palace like that, despite havingspent six months away.

The weatherwas nice and warm, the sun was shining brightly, she was out of town by a lake, sitting on a pier, feet dangling into the water, look sideways-

“-you didn’teven pay attention during the lesson, what the do you know aboutwater manipulation!?”

“Says theone, who couldn’t even warm up water without exploding part of it into steam!”

“I’ll showyou steam-!”

- and watchedas Waltz and Myth were ‘discussing’ how to best explain elemental water controlto her.

Lucettewanted to shake her head at them. It was ridiculous how easily they were ateach others throat. And how easily they teamed up against people trying to harmeither of the witches or her. She didn’t even pity Alcaster on that matter.Just the servants tasked with the clean up.

Well, atleast they were reacting to what the other one said, instead of just throwinginsults at each other.

Lucettewanted to shake her head at the two witches. Apart from each other they wereeasy to be around, even with Myth being… still not quite open about being awitch in public, but that was a matter of habit.

Put themtogether?

Myth was seriousabout magic, studying each field thoroughly, unwilling to let anything open forchance or surprise.

Waltz wasmuch more playful about his skills, willing to use it to humor crowds ofchildren and to discover nuances by himself. And he was a prodigy, who easilymastered where Myth needed time to learn.

She could seewhere Myth’s jealousy had come from. Seeing someone younger repeatedlyoutperform you, and not even studying seriously, could be… jarring. And withher mother hinting that maybe she was better of just teaching oneapprentice…

Their rivalryhad died down a bit over the last months, but she really didn’t want to knowwhat would have happened if Myth hadn’t gotten his head straight via Alcastertrying to kill him.

And she waspretty thankful for him being there for these lessons as well. Because beingthe Bearer gave her power not talent.

And sometimesit was nice to have additional instructions for the areas that came so naturalto Waltz. She knew Waltz didn’t mean any harm when he forgot to mention anaspect he thought was instinct and he had gotten better about it as well.

Myth had alsocalmed down a bit when Waltz had stopped putting showmanship into instructionsto show off.

Not that anykind if instructing had happened yet, today, because today they were disagreeingon information they had.

But it wasdefinitely entertaining.

Lucettelooked straight ahead again, looking over the lake.

It was a niceplace. Away from town, far enough that you needed horses to comfortably comehere in a reasonable time, so there were no town people-

A loudsplashing sound made her jerk up and turn back to the other two witches.

Waltz wasalone on the pier, looking dumbfounded and surprised, then smiled at her.

Myth was justsurfacing from the water.

“As it seemsmy information on water control is not faulty, I guess we can use it forinstructions,” he said, “It’s a bit like controlling the icicles from the lastlesson. You just need to identify the water to your magic first and push itinto the material before moving-” Waltz broke off when a wave swapped him fromthe pier.

Myth climbedback onto the wood, looking smug. “I recommend getting into contact with water firstand spreading magic into it, to identify the sensation of magic in water.Hurling it around has literally no skill to it.”

Lucettewatched as Waltz lunged out of the water grabbed Myth and pulled him back in.

Ignoring thesplashing noises she pondered the information. She was quite sure both maleshad the same information, just different ways of voicing it. Not thatneither would admit it with the other in hearing range.

So, pushingmagic into water to get a feel for it and then moving it around like theicicle…

It proved tobe a bit more difficult than the icicle. Water was a liquid and if she wantedto move it evenly, she needed to spread her magic evenly.

She watchedMyth and Waltz sending bursts of water at each other. Myth was sending waterfrom his immediate area to Waltz. Waltz ‘grabbed’ water away from him and shotit at Myth.

…could shepull water away from areas?

A short testproved: Yes, she could.

Smirking, shestarted to push her magic towards the males.

Their faceswhen they were suddenly on dry land were hilarious. When they noticedthat there was water towering up around them…

She let go ofit, before they could react.

And gave thema smile when they came up sputtering for air.

“I guess, Igot it,” she said, fighting down the laughter building up inside her.

Both weresilent. Looked at her, looked at each other, then back at her.

The nextmoment there was water flying towards her.

The sun hadmoved quite a bit when all three of them were stretched out on the grass, thesunshine warming them up and drying them slowly.

Lucette wasquite happy with the outcome. Win by superior firepower (and Crystallum enhancedresources).

“Well, princess, you definite understood the material,” Myth yawned from his place, looking like he was falling asleep. Waltz looked a bit more awake, but not bymuch.

Turned outthat Myth knew more about minimalizing his usage to last longer. She would lookinto that another day.

“That wasfun,” she finally said. Delora most likely wouldn’t participate in it. Maybewith the potion she had developed with Parfait and kept mumbling about, butotherwise she wouldn’t have the stamina. And the potion was a bit too expensive forthat.

And Parfaitwas too frail as well.

“Yeah, itreally was,” Waltz agreed, “What do you think, Myth?”

Silence.

Both turnedto the witch when he didn’t reply and Lucette fought back a snicker. Waltzlaughed quietly. “A nap doesn’t sound that bad,” he admitted and let out a yawnhimself.

Lucette lookedback into the sky. It was a prettynice day.

myth and alcaster drabble!!

Have a small piece.^^

Myth didn’tlike Alcaster. He was brutish, had no sense for sensible approaches and was tryingto take what belonged to his queen: The throne.

What didthe man even think was going to happen? Well, he knew what the man thought wasgoing to happen. That him taking over would instil enough fear into people tomake them ‘more productive’ again. Moron. He would be busy wasting theresources of this raised productivity to instil the fear needed to raise productivity.

Even nowthe man was strutting around in the room they were meeting in. Tense, as ifawaiting someone to just barge into the room. Not that Myth was going to remindhim of the spell keeping people away.

“That planis not going to work that way,” he finally said, “There is no way we can assurethat all of the turned knights will be in the palace at the same time and noone else. The number of the knights in question is too small.” And people notinvolved would never let his alliesin. And witches were vulnerable to steel like everyone else, if there was notime to cast a shield.

The man gavehim a cold glare Myth just answered with an unimpressed, raised brow. “Do youhave a better plan?” he snarled coolly. “More time to turn more knights to thecause,” he commented calmly. The man could do with some patience. But thenhumans had short life spans. Did Alcaster start feeling his age? Was that thereason why he started pushing everything forward faster?

“We can’twait forever! If the brat marries, there’ll only be more people to take care of!”“As long as the king pretends to let the crown go, there shouldn’t be a problemat all,” the witch replied. Not that the crown would go to anyone else than hisqueen.

He wouldtreasure the face of this human, when his queen returned and he noticed fromwhom he had tried to take.

what about 060?

060 - Rejection

Rejection was a matter of attachment. If you weren’t attached to someone, the rejection didn’t matter. Which was also why Myth didn’t bother getting attached to anyone while hiding under a glamour.

The only on, whose rejection mattered, was his queen. But she would have no reason to reject him as her student, now that Waltz was a traitor. He would be the one, who ensured her return, the loyal apprentice. The one that stayed, even if leaving would have been easy with no one knowing he survived.

Rejection happened, if the other party found a reason to not want you around. He would make sure there would be no reason for his queen to sent him away.

Hello! Can i please ask for #029 with a dash of soulmate au? (If you are still taking requests that is.) Thank you!

That turned out a bit longer than expected. But then you need a bit of a background and world building for soulmate AUs.

Have fun with that one.^^

029 - Curious

Despite everything Lucette had always been curious about the tattoo that had appeared on her breastbone, ending just below the neckline of her dress.

Next to the white lily blossom that had been there as long as she remembered a second plant had slowly stated to grow. First starting as a line next to it and slowly spread out next to the broad leaves and the stem of the lily, slowly gaining more and more details.

It was not normal and while she detested Delora for cursing her, she had still taken advantage of being around a witch and had managed to get her alone to ask.

And in the two weeks she hadn’t really looked at it since she got cursed, the thin black lines of the tattoo had broadened into a fully recognizabel branch adorned with white flowers, thin and straight leaves spreading out from it, accompanying smaller whiter blossoms.

And since then she had been introduced to the principle of soulmates, which were common among magic users and much more rare among normal humans.

A pair always shared the same tattoo in the same place, starting out with one flower and then a second one slowly appearing. The smell of the flower you started out with, would always be the one strongest to you, and the smell of it always with you, only noticabel for the partner.

Lucette liked lilys because of their posture, straight and tall and elegant, but she also loved their sweet smell, always so much sweeter than anything else, only matched by the scent of the second flower.

She could live with the lily describing herself. It was her favorite.

The second flower that had appeared on her was white blooming oleander. She had never seen it in the palace gardens, never smelled it before, but the books she read to research the flower, described a sweet scent. And a visit to a park only proved that one true.

And curiosity was what drove her to search the city for the person accompanied by a matching scent.

The curiosity was what drove her to follow Rod through the passage into palace, when she caught a hint of the smell on him.

The curiosity was what drove her to shout out the warning to Mythros, as Alcaster tried to kill him from behind.

Mythros smacking Alcaster’s sword asside with magic and pulling a dagger out of his sleeve and pinning the mans arm to the wall by driving it throught the attackers palm without hesitation or any kind of expression reminded her of yet the last paragraph, she had read about the plant.

No matter how pretty it was or how harmless it looked for not having thorns and sweet smelling blossoms, no horse or cattle would willingly eat it and shy away from it as it was highly poisonous.

Myth hadn’t bothered to give a closer thought about the tattoo appearing on his chest for years, had never bothered to take a closer look at it until the evening after the princess had disappeared from the palace and all the rage and worries broke out when he was finally alone in his home and found himself looking into the bathroom mirror when changing into less noticable clothing to match a coat with hood to check in with his informants in the city.

The image of a second flower having joined the blooming branch he had never bothered to identify threw him off, just as much as the kind of flower that was there.

The white lily seemed like a mockery, slapping into his face that -despite what he had told himself during the last years- there may be something for him in this world beside his servitude to the queen. Something that was his on a level no one could simply take away.

Soulmates didn’t always get along, but the reports that he had found during the years had always found the problem in how set one or both parts were about what their partner was supposed to be like.

He had never even imagined having such a partner, regarding how many had died during the Hunts, leaving many with a tattoo unmatched.

And now he found himself curious, who fate deemed fitting for him.

White Lilies stood for majesty and purity and in some interpretations even innocence.

The curiosity also gave him enough drive to identify his own plant, despite his already heavy workload of keeping Alcaster happy, hiding the Tenebrarum and his Queen, doing his work as the king’s advisor, finding and organizing witches that may be sympatetic to his cause once the Queen was free again and looking for the princess. And sometimes he strolled around the city when his head was too full, trying to pinpoint the smell of lilies in streets with way to many smells to clearly pinpoint anything.

Distilling the extract of white oleander and creating an oil was an art in itself, especially because he couldn’t risk cases of poisoning on accident.

But the smell would stick when he was gone and may lead his soulmate to him when he was unable to find that person.

And everthing came to bear when there was a shout behind him, warning him just in time to keep getting killed by Alcaster, accompanied by the sweetest smell he could imagine.

The resulting comotion had multiple causes.

Alcaster, who was the head knight, had just tried to kill someone and his small legion of knights had just tried to stage a coup.

The princess warning him, counted enough of a good deed that the count of three was full for her curse, breaking it, making everyone remember her.

Myth highly protective and dazed by the revelation of who his mate was, was not willing to put her into any kind of danger and didn’t bother hiding the exact extend of his power to deal with knights, who thought that pointing a few sharp blades at him for intimidation and ended up with shelves getting pulled down onto them outside the unlucky soul, who got thrown out of a window.

The king would hopefully forgive him the mess.

But as everything died down, Alcaster taken away into the dungeons away from the knights loyal only to him, the princess settled back into the palace and the repairs and clean up started, Myth got called to the king.

When he got asked, if there was anything else he had hidden, there was a choice.

He could lie and say no. The Tenebrarum was still savely hidden, the Queen with it. But the traitor had been living with the princess and may turn up soon, spilling everything about him and the Lucis bearer was more than powerful enough to find the Crystallum and the Queen enclosed in it. Plans destroyed, planning useless and even his mate gone from his grasp.

And while his Queen may not have bothered to get involved in soulmate business, if his mate had been anyone else, his mate was her daughter, who should be loyal to only her and not get protective of a possible mate.

He wanted to live. He wanted to keep his mate. He couldn’t have his Queen and his mate.

His words like barbed wire in his throat, he started talking.
