It's fall. Time to reread Temptation on the Warfront by alizarincrims0n by ao3
I like that Gravity Falls is getting a Marauders style redemption arc. It's all about Ford and Stan and Fiddleford and Bill with hints of boyish Dan and Young Lazy Susan and I love it. I love it. The multishiping the major angst the character exploration. 10/10
ngl this is just me for me
Also, I don’t support, nor do I condone JKR’s behaviour towards trans people! I just like Harry Potter!

Sweet, warm Hufflepuff.
This sunbeam of a house is sure to bring your mood up in a matter of minutes with their kind words, and lack of judgement.
However, Hufflepuffs may sometimes display an odd phenomenon where they reserve their harsh words and judgement for themselves.
If this is the case, you have a blue Hufflepuff on your hands.
You can identify a blue Hufflepuff by the way they stifle their own laughter, or begin withdrawing for fear of being bothersome. Symptomes include but are not limited to: quietness, frequent apologies, tear-stained cheeks, stress baking, and in severe cases, tummy aches.
A healthy Hufflepuff will typically be humming to themselves, and buzzing around like a bumblebee. You will know your Hufflepuff is in dire need of treatment for blue if they see a cat stretching, and do not say ‘Ooooooh, big stretch!’.
Not to worry, there is a simple treatment. Much like the Gryffindor, the Hufflepuff values both stimulation and comfort. Try to achieve both of these in the treatment. A suggested treatment would be to invite them to do something new, such as hopping on the train to visit a new town for a calming afternoon out. Encourage flower-smelling and dog-petting whenever possible.
You will be able to detect a Hufflepuff’s improving state when the glitter of life returns to their eyes. Do not try to speed up the recovery process, they may become overstimulated, and will cry. (The author suggests you do not make your Hufflepuff cry unless you want a target from every house on your back).
With thorough attention, hugs, and perhaps even a sweet treat; your Hufflepuff will rise to full health once again, and get back to being the little bumblebee they are.
I'm not going to lie, I was a little scared to say anything about this as everything has felt so hostile and explosive.
But at the same time, I feel like I would be doing a disservice to all my dear friends of the LGBTQIA+ community if I didn't say something.
What JK Rowling has been saying on Twitter is nothing short of absolutely disgusting. I hate how she has been using her platform as a famous author to spread hate and vile propaganda. She had great power, and she had absolutely abused it. JKR has proven she has no intention of changing and that she is overall a vile woman.
That being said, I don't think the fight will be won by completely ignoring what the franchise was for so many people. If you or anyone you know needs to step away from it all for awhile, then they should absolutely do that as their mental health matters! But for those of us who can, I think it's time we fight.
She has absolutely no right to say that when we read her books, we support her political views. That is not what literature or movies are for. If that were the case, there would be a ton of media we'd have taken away due to that very fact. Books and art in general are meant to inspire people. It's a medium for personal interpretation and inspiration.
So, you might ask, what's next? I say we ignore her from now on. If you haven't already, unfollow her on everything. Stop buying any new merch that she is involved in. Stop consuming any new Harry Potter media that she is involved in the creation of. And support the fans who want nothing to do with her.
If you really want Harry Potter merch, buy it second hand or from a fan-run business. Read Harry Potter fanfiction; there are so many wonderful fanfics out there written by wonderful people. Let's take back the Wizarding World and make it what it always was to us: a place of creativity and for many of us a place of community.
I will always support the fans who go on to create things that she would HATE because of her horrible viewpoints. Keep it up! Keep spreading love and positivity. One day, she'll become nothing but a footnote.
I love you all and keep fighting the good fight! 🩵
