I know he said no, but knowing Aleks Le, as well as the way he played Kai, I can imagine kai being like "nah, I'm good" and then two weeks later showing up at their house uninvited and not leaving.

Cuz there's now ay you're telling me that the incredibly cool yet still incredibly loyal and kind, lonely scrappy kid isn't immediately thinking 'you're not adopting me, I've just adopted you'

Kai seems soooo too cool for school but also he's great at art and his best friend is the biggest nerd at camp and his first instinct is to give a frog a knife and apparently he's also a theater kid
