ACESPEC ORIGINAL CHARACTERS EVENT FOR ACE WEEK 2023!

ACE WEEK is from 22nd to 28th October this year!! That's around the corner btw.

Back in the old Twitter days, I used to summon acespec creators to join me in a thread of their own acespec OCs with the goal of meeting more ace creators, their OCs, their projects and making friends! I thought it would be a great idea to bring the event to Tumblr this time... WITH NEW RULES!

So, during the ACE WEEK 2023, I want you to show the world your ACESPEC ORIGINAL CHARACTERS!

I want to see artwork of them, especially if it's made by you, and please add some cool info about them, it can be any silly detail, but I encourage you to talk about their asexuality and experiences, and it would be super interesting to know if your own asexuality affected the creation of the character. Tell us about their story, if they have any, and if they belong to a project you are working on. This will take place during the whole week, so no rush. I'll be reblogging pretty much everything with my side martaslavendergarden

RULES:

ABSOLUTE RESPECT. The asexual spectrum is full of different experiences, all valid. If I catch you trying to invalidate any creator or character, be sure I'll go John Wick. Also, I'm fucking tired of the invasion ace meme because I'm very punk and absolutely dislike any imperialist shit, so please, let's keep this event free of white supremacist shit. Thank you.

The identity of my OC is complex or tagless. SOUNDS COOL TO ME. Is their experience somewhere in the asexual spectrum? You can join the party and I encourage you to talk about it! I'm sure they'll be a super interesting character.

Marta, I have 500 acespec OCs. SAME. You can join all of the characters in one single post or make several of them and post them during the week, organise it yourself, no problemo.

Help a new kid (maybe)? :]

Hello music community!!!!

So, uh, I wanna maybe kind of start doing music/covers of songs as a hobby, but I really don’t know where to start. I play the violin, and I do musical theatre, so I know a lot of theatre songs. But I also do like indie rock music, mainly music by queer artists. I don’t know what kinda song to do first tho, or how to start, along with finding music! I wanna sing, I know that, I just—again—don’t know how.

The owner/manager of the thrift store Octávio and Camry work at. I wanted to design a character who spent their adolescence and young adulthood in the early goth scene and never left it behind. Well at least the fashion and music; they’ve mellowed out a bit in the new millennium.

Rounding out my furry world with a friend/coworker of Camry and Matonne. He’s based on suggestions from some friends to make an intimidating-looking, but actually kind guy and a beefy feminine man (and no, I did not notice the pun until just now). He’s also my first ever mostly muscular character, a body type I’m much less confident in drawing.

Taking a bit of a break from designing furries and diving into something I haven’t done since high school, space art. I would usually just manipulate photos to create such images, but I wanted to try my hand at drawing and painting instead (especially since I use Procreate now instead of Photoshop). There’s a lot of areas I know I can improve, but it was nice jumping back into an old favorite art genre of mine.

Yet another gal to fill out the furry universe Matonne inhabits. Hopefully I can get these out quicker and then start doing some real art with all these guys.

Trying to get more comfortable with my natural way of drawing and not fuss with too much over making a perfect end product. Hopefully this get me outputting more art.
