Star Wars Fandom: Don't you do it Filoni. Don't you dare. Please. Don't. Do. It.

I know the finale has left us feeling things (and I one day might share my thoughts on them, but honestly staying off of most social media platforms around this time has been really good for my mental), so let's go back to an episode many of us loved: The Crossing. Here's an excellent analysis of the episode looking at it through the 'Tech is autistic' lens.

Anyone else completely normal about the scene with Omega and Tech in The Crossing and Omega says 'we're a family, aren't we?' and the writers could have 100 percent could have had Tech say 'technically, we do not fall under the traditional family structure' or something like that and we would have been mildly disappointed but unsurprised but instead they had him acknowledge that they are a family and even saying 'of course' they're a family which just was such a beautiful moment in which he breaks autism stereotypes and is just a beautiful person that I love?

Please please please season 2 be kinder to us who love Cross and don’t want him separated from his WHOLE family (because Omega needs her Ori Vod too and we see how her little heart is breaking for him too)!!!!

Season 1’s finale broke my heart...on par with season 2’s finale of The Mandalorian and I’m OBSESSED with anything Grogu. Favorite of all the shows right now are: tying for number 1 is The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch and tying for number 2 is The Clone Wars and Rebels!

Speaking of content I desperately crave. Bring back toasty toothpick man. I will not rest till the Bad batch is a whole family again.

This hurts more than it should because he wasn’t my favorite character in TCW for some reason but in TBB I felt more of a connection to him! I think it has a lot to do with Omega, their connection even if it’s not blatantly obvious to most, and how she NEVER gives up on Crosshair and seems to be the only one to sense his suffering. (More reasons but I’m sure no one wants to read a long post from me lol)

Not saying the other batchers aren’t suffering but Cross literally thinks he was replaced by his brothers by their little sister who they didn’t even know existed. As well as it seems like Omega has done more in this entire series for Crosshair than the whole batch has! I love anything with Crosshair and Omega!!!! Wish I could find more fan art, fanfictions etc.

Why Crosshair's treatment in the first season of the bad batch hurt so much:

They had to make the less talkative man with the rough personality into the villain. They could have showed that despite his coldness he's just as important part of the family as anyone else. They could have showed what made him behave this way.

He barely got any screentime. How could we understand his feelings if we don't even seen him?

His brothers didn't even try to save him while they thought he was only with the empire because of the chip. This pushed Crosshair toward the empire, even without his chip...

Crosshair was alone. We didn't see him smile once. He didn't have any wholesome moments, he didn't get to be there when Omega first saw hyperspace or try out Mantell mix.

He was broken more and more with each episode he appeared in. His eyes only got sadder and he became someone else during this season. This is not the lighthearted Crosshair who plays with Wrecker and has sarcastic comments. That Crosshair is gone. This season broke him.

All I’m going to say is- I’m not mad at anybody this episode.

I think everybody had the right to do what they did, and this is coming from a huge Hunter stan.

The batch gave Crosshair the chance, I don’t want people to forget that, I know they weren’t persistent, but it still happened, they still offered him the chance to join them, for them to be whole again.

But Cross didn’t want that- or at least he thinks he doesn’t want that, but right now there’s nothing he can do, if his chip is still intact (which I believe it is from the lack of scar and the holding his head) then he still believes in loyalty to the empire! He can’t help it, but that’s what he chose. Equally the batch can’t do anything about that right now, in order to keep one another safe, they can’t wait around for scouts to find them.

Stunning Crosshair would’ve taken away his right to his own choice, that would’ve caused more issues than necessary.

Hunter is still doing what is best for his squad, and we need to take Wrecker and Tech into this too. They have every right to be hurt. I’ve never thought about it this way, but they’re right, I know the batch didn’t go back for Cross (and I’m still mad at them for it), but Cross didn’t seek them out either, and he probably had the resources to do so more than they did!

I just- I don’t want to see slander towards any of them. They all have their reasonings right now. It sucks that they’re not together again, but it’s going to set up for an amazing season 2, I know it will. Hunter is protecting who he can, he gave Crosshair the choice to be one of those people, Crosshair declined. That isn’t Hunter’s fault.

Equally it isn’t Cross’s fault, with how he’s been treated I don’t blame him, but it’s not Hunter’s fault, and I don’t want to see any backlash towards either of them.

I think something that makes Tech’s death so tragic is the sense of invincibility that we had associated with Clone Force 99 up to that point.

They sure didn’t have plot armor—we’ve seen them get injured before, and we all know how Star Wars isn’t afraid to kill off a character—but think of all the things we’ve seen them survive: Hunter literally falling off the side of a mountain, getting shot in the chest; Tech getting hurled into a wall by Wrecker when he was under the influence of the inhibitor chip; Wrecker wrestling a rancor; surviving live rounds in a battle simulator; nearly getting roasted alive in an engine. What’s more, we’ve seen how absolutely UNHINGED their plans are, and yet, during the war, they had a 100% success rate and had never lost a single member of their squad. For a group of clones, that’s about as invincible as it gets.

And yet, in the end, they weren’t invincible. Tech was dangling from a single grappling line off a rail car that was only still dangling from the sky because Wrecker and a single connecting cable were holding it there. Neither he nor Wrecker could move without sending the rail car over. The others couldn’t move to safety unless the rail car miraculously reattached itself or ripped away. If anyone could have seen a miraculous, brilliant, crazy way out, it would have been Tech.

But he couldn’t. He saw the inevitability of what had to happen. And Tech, practical Tech, shot the connection himself when Wrecker couldn’t, because they couldn’t see that inevitability, or they couldn’t accept it—one last time, he had to help them understand.

Crosshair was right—Clone Force 99 DID die with Tech, because Clone Force 99 was invincible. Until they weren’t.

I still enjoy season two but I can’t watch the last three episodes, and I’ve only seen season three once. Kinda crazy in comparison to the 9 or 10 times I’ve seen the rest plus the CW arc 😅🥲

Question for those of you that were... Deeply affected by Plan 99:

Knowing how it ends, are you able to rewatch season 2? If so, do you watch the whole thing, or is there an episode that you stop at/don't watch past?

I'm itching for a rewatch and I want to include season 2 in said rewatch since all two of my "rewatches" have only been season 1... But I want to tread cautiously. I haven't rewatched season 2 at all because..well.. ya know.

This episode single handedly made me like Phee a lot more, cuz ngl…she a real one💀

THEY LITERALLY SHOWED HIM GETTING TO SHORE ONLY TO BE BLOCKED BY THE GASPING FORM OF WRECKER(lol) AND THEN HE TURNS AWAY FROM THE CAMERA A N D T H E N HE STANDS UP BUT HIS HEAD IS DIRECTLY CUT OUT OF FRAME WHAT KIND OF MONSTERS DID THIS anyway

IT WAS SO HOT 😭😩

I’m late to the party but we all know how good this episode was, especially with Omega and Tech (I almost cried 😀👍)

HUNTER STARING AT THE ELECTRICAL STORM AT THE END WHILE HIS HAIR BLEW IN THE WIND DRAMATICALLY GOT ME GIGGLING BLUSHING KICKING MY FEET TWIRLING MY HAIR HNNRGHHH CLAWING AT THE WALLS *shrivels up and dies*

SPOILERS FOR TBB SEASON 2

These episodes left me broken and in absolute shambles. It’s the way my sister and I were both sitting there in silence, grossly sobbing into our hands when we realized that Echo was going with Rex. I CRIED SO HARD. How can I live love laugh in these conditions?!?

What if something happens to Echo and that’s what causes Rex to kinda leave the rebellion?!? NEVERMIND I DONT WANNA THINK ABOUT IT.

Can we talk about that clone assassin for a minute?? I know Rex mentioned how he was different, had his signature/number removed, and he was obviously…interesting, compared to clones with activated chips. My guess? Maybe prototype of a death trooper or purge trooper? Seeing his interaction with Rex was so.. scary, I loved it. I am definitely more afraid for clones in the empire now, because I’m pretty sure they’re gonna be turned into mindless killers like that guy. And now I’m so scared for Cody- like yeah, rampart *said* he went awol, but do we know that for certain?? What if he got death/purge troopered?!?! akbhquwwqn

CANT BELIEVE RAMPART GOT ARRESTED TOO. That’s so crazy to me. Like DAMN. I wonder who is gonna fill his role? New main antagonist for the batch? Maybe they just straight up gotta fight a Sith Lord now lmfao 0-60 in seconds 😭.

I can hardly type Im so heart broken rn omfg 💀💀 echo my beloved pls come home to us when you are ready 💔💔💔😭😭😭😭

I do think it’ll be cool to see the original bad batch dynamic without Echo. AND I WANNA SEE AN EPISODE WITH ECHO AND REX COMMITTING CRIMES

WAS I THE ONLY ONE WHO ABSOLUTELY ADORED THIS EPISODE HNNGGGG

As a Hunter girly, I was starving there for a minute, I’m ngl, but all is well now because I got to have smartass, snappy, grumpy Hunter who did NOT want to go for the treasure and descend into the ominous death tunnel.

CAN WE TALK ABOUT HOW HUNTER FELT THE PRESENCE OF THE ANIMAL THING AND HE WAS GOING FOR HIS BLASTER BECAUSE THAT DID SOMETHING TO ME. I was like, clutching my pearls and shit. Swinging my feet and twirling my hair. That was hot. Need more of Hunter and his enhanced senses. Please.

The mech looked so frickin cool, I love it sm. Also!! What if all of that was ancient Rakata technology? I feel like it was being hinted at- predates the republic, thousands+ years old, and a murderous, insanely powerful war machine used to purge worlds. Frickin cool. Mwah.

Hunter twirling his knife my beloved I’m so glad you returned. It’s the way I started blushing ✋.

All in all 10/10 will go feral for this man and this episode again.

Like he’s so fr. He just wants to keep his family away from the empire, live his days out away from other peoples problems, and he doesn’t want to be responsible for anyone else’s war anymore. Like yes!!! He’s just like me fr!! And he’s so protective of everyone it’s so mwuah

Ik some people were like “Hunter no join the rebellion we have cookies” but like, he doesn’t want that life anymore. Taking orders, dying for a cause he hardly believes in, he just wants to keep his family away from all that, and live his best life. (Ik he’ll probably cave and join anyway later on, but still) I support 💯

(Also not him trying to do Tech things and failing 😭😭💀 it was actually so adorable- he likes to stabby stabby not clicky clicky around with buttons 💔 )

We are getting fed so well with the Echo content. I love seeing him getting more screen time, and his desire to help with rebelling against the Empire. It’s makes for some interesting conflicts within the batch as a whole, and is most likely going to be an ongoing point. Love him ❤️ NO LIE THO HE WAS KINDA INTIMIDATING THESE EPISODES FOR NO REASON?? IDK WHAT IT WAS BUT BRO WAS PRODUCING SOME MEAN AURA WITH OMEGA FOR A SECOND but then he said “please” to her in such a way that I almost cried lmao (and the way he fell in the beginning 😭 so precious actually)
