Dive Deep into Creativity: Discover, Share, Inspire
Saturday progress on my current Ineffable Wives WIP.
Work in progress
Fem Aziraphale with šactual line artš
Painting the eyes has always been my favorite part of any portrait. Current WIP. Will probably be the next finished piece I post, unless Something Terrible happens.
A portrait of myself that I've started painting to match the portrait I did of my friend and business partner. We're using these on our businesses'eses's website in lieu of photos because fuck having photos of ourselves out there on the internet.
I thought Iād made a mistake by doing this eye-searing magenta for the ground, but Iām liking it.

Iāve decided this will actually be my test weave... gonna start the whole thing over because I have brainworms.
All this work and Iāve concluded Iām gonna have to cut it up to harvest some of the yarn for the next one! The custom multicolor yarns that I made. The issue is those plain weave sections are uhhhh almost 4 ft long. If I reduce the number of picks, I can reduce the length of the plain weave section by half and have a lot more room for cool stuff.
Doing insane shit with string today
Because the rigid heddle loom rolls up the cloth on the front bar, you canāt see everything Iāve woven, so this diagram is the best way to demonstrate how increasingly unhinged this weaving is becoming.

You may have noticed that parts of this painting are done in different styles/with different techniques. This hand is painted similarly to a āgrisaille,ā base shadows painted with color built up in thin layers of glaze.
My first time-lapse using an actual tripod set-up. Iāll continue to document progress on this painting as I prepare it for a GALLERY SHOW IN MARCH!!
If youāre ever wondering why Iām slow to post art, itās because I have a full time job and a repetitive stress injury that is triggered by my job and basically every form of art that I make.
These are two in-progress paintings Iāve been working on for awhile now, āEcce Homoā and āSt. Agatha (left).ā

Iām considering this done. Just needs a coat of varnish.
I feel this is close to done. Just needs some more work on the hair and some highlights.
Did painting today and yesterday; pausing for now because my arm and shoulder are hurting.
Iāve finished moving apartments and my repetitive stress injury has improved enough that I can actually do some painting.
just needs some varnish and then I can do a high-res scan!
doing some painting
Well. I have now learned this particular matte medium is too opaque to be used undiluted. Unsure if Iāll continue on this, leave it and come back, or leave it entirely.

Previews of the next comic Iām working on.
No idea when itāll be finished. Itās at least 14 pages long and Iām just starting page 3...
in case thereās ever been any ambiguity about the themes and focus of my art, Baruch HaShem for hairy trans masc titties.
I regret to inform you that I have begun scripting and thumbnailing another Simpsonās comic. Not directly/explicitly related to my previous comics. No idea on how long it will take to complete. So, yāknow, watch this space.
Returning to this painting for the first time in well over a year and just obliterating it with saturated colors.
Also finished this painting but need to find the cables for the scanner to actually get a good quality picture of it.
Doing some painting studies.
Top left: straight lines only, open acrylics. Bottom left: heavy body acrylics. Right: starting with open acrylics as the base, will go back on top with heavy body acrylics.
Second study, using heavy body acrylics this time.
So far I like the opacity, but I prefer how smooth the open acrylics feel and that they stay wet on the palette for longer.
Iām trying to move away from my natural inclination towards fussy details and get more of the big strokes that you see in Uglow, Saville, and Freud.
