Okay hold on. German scientists discovered FISSION, not nuclear weaponry. Fission is also used nuclear ENERGY, which is a step made towards clean energy. This is just from a cursory search of Google (but it is fascinating, good reading material), but nuclear fission is much more than weaponry. That's likely what Shannon was trying to get at; that humans corrupted what elves intended for good.
However, boy oh boy would it be a great recipe for ANGST and HORROR in a fic. The Council tried to wipe out humanity, etc etc.
Shannon did not think it through when she said elves gave humans technology to build atomic bombs. Why? Because the Nazis... YES THE GOD DAMN NAZIS were the first people to start developing it. meaning the elves gave the Nazi's the tools to start developing it willingly
This plus @justkillingthyme 's tags, because I played games 2, 3, 5, and 6 before playing 1 and 4, and lemme tell you, I could NOT figure out the beef (but I still had a GREAT time).
Perks of having played Miracle Mask as your first ever Layton Game:
You get introduced to Layton knowing how to fence as a natural part of his character, and not as something that might seem out of nowhere in a very epic scene
You're nostalgic for the very epic Carnival World
Very epic minigame flashback section in your first Layton Game
Very epic section where you can figure out what happened at the scene of the crime and feel really smart in your first Layton Game
Sth, sth, advantages the 3DS has gameplay wise I guess, since I like the way you play on the 3DS a little better
Disadvantages of having played Miracle Mask as your first ever Layton Game:
What is a Descole and why do they know each other???
Originally nobody was talking about it, but Rucy posted a detailed list regarding the guidelines themselves. If you want full detail as to what exactly they want, you can go here.
LEVEL 5 has posted guidelines regarding how the content of the Professor Layton games should be shared. Although in Japanese, here is a link to their official Twitter post from their Layton branch. (Here is a link to the post itself in case the twitter one is taken down.)
It means that everything Level 5 related is at risk of being purged. This includes (but is not limited to) cutscenes and (some) gameplay. Yes, although it is only for the Layton series right now, they could push this for other IPs as well.
Originally, I thought to not worry as the guidelines were written in Japanese, therefore via common sense it'd be stupid if they went after English speaking content.
However, things can always change in the future, and after seeing Level 5 taking down an English speaking video featuring Level 5 gameplay just recently, it's enough to raise an eyebrow.
Preferably, archive whatever you feel needs archiving. We don't know a lot of details nor can foretell what the company may do, especially with media in other languages / outside of Japan, but it's best to be safe rather than sorry.
And when making content related to Level 5 on platforms such as YouTube, Tiktok, Instagram, etc, be wary and always have a backup. It's hard to say to also adhere to the guidelines as it's not officially translated, but if that were to happen, you should do that as well.
Anna Lea was in three songs and yet she has my heart and mind forever.
I really hope we all give a big applause to Anna Lea because she reached those high notes like her life depended on it only after to go with such a sweet change in what, seconds?
Queen, honestly, i hope she is hired in more things
Anyone: Tell me though who's Penelope?
All of us: She's my wife
SCREAMING CRYING THROWING UP
Ohhhhhhh my gosh this is stunning! Holy crap! It has so much detail and your people drawing skills are incredible! Ahhhhhhhh! I love it! β€οΈ
for those who know me, you know that I am a big fan of greek mythology, so when the epic saga by Jorege Rivera-Herrans came out I couldn't help but fall madly in love with it, his music accompanied and inspired me while I was working, and now that this long journey is about to end I couldn't help but leave a tribute to thank him for all the work he has done. he couldn't have left us a better christmas present under the tree! thanks again for everything.
ps: I already know that with the last song I will cry like a fountain!!
I found out that Kevin Saxby, the guy who plays Luke Carder, is 6' 2", which is??? So tall??? So this was born
Wanted to do a design for a Fairy Queen Aurora/Briar Rose as her endgame ( cuz the girl has been stepped in magic basically since she was born and deserves to get to do something more then sleeping ) and it inspired me to do some new queen designs for the other early Disney ladies also, so hereβs Snow and Cindy
You make a good point. The way taking deep breaths is written heavily distorts how long it actually takes. What takes a second to write would actually take longer to perform. It even leaves room for an awkward silence.
If you need an example, try to remember the last time you went to the doctor's office and they made you take deep breaths while they listened to your heartbeat. Not too bad in the doc's office, but pretty weird when you're in the middle of a conversation.
a big pet peeve of mine with these books is whenever shannon says that someone stopped and took 'multiple deep breaths' before continuing like im SORRY if i was talking to someone and they just stooped and started breathing deeply id assume they were having a panic attack or getting ready to fight me id probably back up
ough, Luke Carder, my beloved
Fantastic comic!
Goodbye, Carder.
I just started playing Indiana Jones.
HOW ARE THERE NO INDIANA JONES PROFESSOR LAYTON XOVERS ON AO3 OR FANFICTION.NET!?!?!?!
Henry and Angela are very proficient, but Dalston's an absolute ARTIST with it. Everyone is very impressed and a little scared.
Just got my ass handed to me in Kaycee's Mod.
Man therapy isnβt enough. I need to crash out like Fitz Vacker does.
every time I think of twelve year old Sophie deciding to vanish from her family's minds instead of letting them grieve her I get sick to my stomach honey no one deserves you
Update on my Inscryption playthrough:
I think a nicer twist to this is that Forkle all but FORCED Elwin to stay quiet. Because Elwin said in Legacy(??) that Sophie deserved to know who her bio parents are. Even if their relationship did take a hit, it might help that Elwin WANTED to tell her.
That said, I'm about 90% sure it isn't Elwin tho.
If Elwin ends up being Sophieβs bio dad (I donβt think he is) it would probably cause like a major rift between them, if that makes sense. Sophie sees him as a father figure and heβs been her doctor for years of her life, in which most of her visits were fatal or just really bad.
I understand that if he was her dad, he wouldnβt be able to reveal himself but regardless it would be painful for Sophie. This is how it is between Sophie and Oralie, when she starts to resent Oralie (I think Iβve forgotten the specifics) once learning she was lied to for years by someone she trusts.
She would most likely have the same reaction if Elwin was her bio dad. And Elwin and Sophie were closer than Sophie and Oralie (makes sense he saw her in almost all of her near death experiences).
In my opinion this would also result in Sophie not going to Elwinβs office when she needs to, just to avoid meeting him. This would make her near death experiences WAY more serious and may end up with a disability or death if not treated (I think, Iβm not a doctor obviously)
Sometimes fanfiction culture is just checking the author's Ao3 page to make sure they're alive.
I know Keefe is the obvious (and probably correct) answer, but my case for Biana is solely because I can't imagine lying in a pool of your own blood after being shredded by glass and thinking to myself "oh my gosh. this is how I die"
I dont think we as a fandom think about it that much, since Biana came back with a VENGENCE about it (showing her scars, standing tall, "I'm not gonna let them keep me down" etc). And that's amazing for her! "The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all" type shit. 10/10.
But she was, what, 14, 15? She was a little girl in an adult's war, all these kids are. She is strong and beautiful and brave but also so, so little and young and bright.
I know, I know all these kids are going through similar stuff. But I can't imagine just lying there, in pain and afraid as you hear your brother scream your name in search of you. And a little whisper in your head goes, "he's not gonna find me in time"
THAT'S where I've heard him from! I played Last Specter and a bell went off in my head!
Desmond and the Wretched Beast (Keats) that wonβt let him be self-destructive without very loudly alerting Raymond
I imagine child abuse is treated like grief is in the Lost Cities. We as humans are aware that some parents abuse their children, and that, although our systems are flawed, we need to help kids get out of the bad situation. We humans are also accustomed to grief as a part of life, and have researched and come up with ways to help others and ourselves cope.
The Lost Cities...don't have much experience in those aspects.
There's a bunch of reasons elves might not pick up on signs of abuse, similar to how humans might not. But the number one difference is that elven denial runs SO DEEP throughout their society. They deny the existence of rebellion, discrimination, social shaming, and more on the basis of "our world is so perfect and not at all like those humans!"
With that, Keefe is practically stuck. Running away to another elf will get him sent back home, whether by the elf he ran to (think perhaps Alden "no reason to worry" Vacker) or by Council interference (like if he ran to Sophie; she'd fight tooth and nail for him, but the Council is has more power than her, both in manpower (goblins) and political power). And goodness knows the Council won't do anything about it. They didn't do shit for the Song twins OR Keefe. So Keefe is between a rock and a hard place.
Elves aren't better than humans. Elves are deeply, truly, alarmingly HUMAN. They just refuse to acknowledge it.
okay but can't keefe just move out now. now that it's all done and gone and his dad no longer has any leverage on him. and "keefe was the kind of guy who was always willing to take the hit if he thought it would help a friend" . . . sure. let's put it that way. mhm
From my time in the Once Upon a Time fandom, your reaction to Peter Pan is either swooning or "oh my gosh, you insufferable prick." I'd love to see this in numbers, so please choose the thing you are the MAJORITY of the time.
If you don't have additional thoughts, I'd love to hear it, but please choose one first.
FRICK βIM UP, ODYSSEUS! FRICK βIM UP
I don't know @lotusishere...I'm a fan of this game called Professor Layton, and I think London can be portrayed beautifully. Maybe because the London in the game is more fictional? I'll tag my reblog with the game, see what others have to say.
Honestly how did we go from this
To this?!!
Please bother me. It will make me feel better about bothering others.
bring back tumblr ask culture let me. bother you with questions and statements
