I love it when a whumpee is so weak that they:

are bedridden, much to their discomfort. They long to leave the bed, but cannot because they are too weak, and their legs shake at the thought of taking even a single step.

can't keep their eyes open. Their eyelids flutter but due to tiredness and too much light, they always close again. However, the whumpee has learned to rely on other senses, and is able to recognize the caretaker's voice or touch among a thousand others.

have to always lie down. They try to sit up, perhaps to eat something, but after a few minutes their head starts spinning and their body starts screaming because of the effort. Much to their chagrin, they have to force themselves back down or else they will likely pass out.

are not hungry. Their body can't handle even plain broth, making them queasy and dizzy. So they continue to refuse food, their only source of livelihood, and this obviously worsens their condition.

are too sensitive to touch. Their skin that seems to boil with fever, the bedsheets that rub down their limbs like sandpaper, the hair that sticks to their sweaty forehead, even the simple touch of the caretaker, a touch that is supposed to comfort them. They start to hate all these little things.

Stockholm Syndrome Prompts

All those little whumpees who slowly forget why they're fighting. Gradually learning to love their whumper.

"You know I have to punish you for this, right? I'm sorry. I don't want to. I hate to see you cry...but it's the only way you'll learn."

Whumpee slowly gaining privileges the better they behave. It's easier if they just obey.

Nightmares. Whumpee dreaming of Whumper hurting them. They scream and thrash, waking up to Whumper holding them close. "Shh...it's okay. It was just a dream. I'm not going to hurt you..." Whumpee almost believes it.

Whumpee looks tense, so Whumper gives them a massage.

Whumpee's favorite foods. Always.

"Why are you still thinking about them? All you need is me."

Soft kisses and gentle touch.

"You are so amazing. No one ever appreciated you, did they? They didn't stop long enough to really look."

Constant bondage. Whumpee needs to rely on Whumper for every single thing. Every bite of food. Sip of water. Bathing. Everything they need only comes from Whumper's hands.

"What would you do without me? Really. Go back to them? Back to a life of stress an expectations? Isn't this better?"

New clothes. New hair. New everything. Whumpee starts to forget who they are.

"I told you you'd warm up to me."

That first time that Whumpee leans into Whumper's touch. Probably after a punishment. They're so tired. And Whumper is so warm and kind. They just...drift...

"Isn't this better?"

Whumper only un-gags Whumpee if they 'use their nice words'. Once Whumpee tries to snap at them, beg for Whumper to let them go, or say anything that suggests they don't want to be there, Whumper shoves the gag back in so they can 'think it over and try again later'.

"Can...can you stay with me? Just a little longer." "Of course, darling."

Whumper hand-feeding Whumpee. The intimacy and the trust they have to partake in if they want to eat.

"Tell me you love me. Say it."

Whumper who brands their Whumpee. Whumpee knows they'll never be the same again - they'll always be marked.

"There we go. Isn't 'please' so much nicer to say than 'no'?"

When they stop hesitating to say it.

"No...no please." "Shh...this will help you sleep. I won't leave you, I promise."

Whumper pulling Whumpee close, holding them tight as they try to struggle away. Gently petting their hair and humming until Whumpee's thrashing slows to a stop. They give into the embrace, sobbing into Whumper's shoulder.

"You don't need to think. I'll do that for you. You just rest."

Whumper breaks Whumpee's legs so Whumpee has to rely on them for everything. Thought of escape seem impossible.

"Did you really think I wouldn't notice? You can't lie to me. I know everything about you."

Whumpee vaguely remembers that they used to fight. They used to kick and scream and spit. They just can't remember why.

Whump Prompts: Found You

I just saw a fantastic post by @whumpingcrow and it got me thinking about when an *almost* recovered, escaped whumpee is found by whumper again. So here's a list of ways for Whumper to say 'found you'.

Whumpee walks into their home, takes off their shoes, hangs up the keys, and goes to flop on the couch. But they see someone is already there. Whumper gives them a big smile, “I was wondering when you’d be back. Let’s go, I already packed up your things.”

Whumpee getting a text from an unknown number: “Tag! You’re it.”

Whumpee picking up their office phone at work and freezing when they hear Whumper’s voice. “Ah, there’s that lovely voice. No, don’t you dare hang up on me. We have some things to discuss.”

Whumpee working tech support and getting randomly connected to Whumper. Freezing up as they recognize their voice, trying to change their own. Not knowing if Whumper knows it’s them and trying to find a way to end the conversation as quickly as possible. Then they hear, “You know, I don’t think I’m going to be able to get this on my own. Maybe I should give you my address and you can come help me. Better yet, give me yours and I’ll come get you.”

Whumper getting a letter and opening it at the mailbox. “I didn’t think I’d find you in a real house, especially not one with such a well-stocked fridge. Congratulations. Really, you’ve outdone yourself. I’m so proud.”

A note on their desk at work in all too-familiar handwriting: “See you soon! <3”

Whumpee coming home to find a bouquet of their favorite flowers on their table. Flowers only Whumper ever got for them.

Getting random text that says, “I can’t say I like the new name. It doesn’t suit you. However, I AM a huge fan of your outfit today. You know red’s my favorite color on you.”

Whumpee having coffee alone at a busy cafe when Whumper slides into the seat across from them. “It’s been so long! You’re looking great.” Whumpee can’t manage to do anything but stare as they hands start shaking.

An exhausted Whumpee driving home from work. They flinch and swerve as they feel a knife at their throat. “Take a deeeeep breath. Just keep driving and do what I say, and you’ll be fine.”

Whumpee just walking down the sidewalk as an arm tugs around their waist. They look up to see Whumper pressed close. They try to stop walking, but Whumper tugs at their hip and they are too afraid to pull away. “Don’t fight me. Just keep walking and this will turn out much better for you.”

Whumpee waking up in the middle of the night to Whumper standing over them. This still happens several times a week, but it’s always just a dream. They take a deep breath, blink hard, and flip on their lamp, trying to make the image fade, but it’s real this time. “You look surprised to see me. Didn’t I tell you I’d always find you? Now get dressed. We’re leaving.”

Whumpee answers to door and freezes when they see Whumper’s smile. “I was in the neighborhood and thought I’d stop by. Aren’t you going to invite me in?”

Whumpee sees Whumper leaning against their car when they get to it in the parking garage. “Shhh shhh. Don’t talk. Don’t move. Don’t scream. I’m already very angry with you. You don’t want to make it worse, do you?” Whumpee just shakes their head in small jerky motions.

Whumpee taking out the trash to the dumpster in the alley after work. Whumper appearing out of nowhere and backing them into a corner. “You can walk to my car and get in the trunk, or I’ll use this and carry you. Your choice.”

Reicioplatonic ( Reicioapl / Reicioaplatonic )

A platonic orientation characterized by limited or no platonic attraction / interest / activity due to emotional exhaustion from repeated rejection, or an intense fear of rejection. It is similar to, and can overlap with or be used alongside, Requiesplatonic and Friendship-drained / Plato-drained.

( One example of someone using this label would be an individual who is Aplatonic, was Plato-neutral, who is now Plato-drained due to repeated rejection. They now consider themselves Reicioapl as they’ve lost all platonic interest in and their urges for platonic activities with those individuals. )

The flag colors and their meanings are inspired by the Requies- and the Aplatonic flags ( taking the bottom stripes from this Apl flag and this alternate Apl flag. ) Following the format of the other Reicio- flags, eg. Reicioaro, Reicioace, and Reiciorose.

Gold ( Yellow ) / Cream for Aplatonicism / Being on the Aplspec, Blue for exhaustion / rest, and the Grey stripe going through the Apl apple represents the absence of platonic attraction / interest / activity.

Reiciō is a Latin word which literally means to throw or repel, but can also be used figuratively to mean to reject. It’s pronounced /ˈrei̯.ki.oː/, [ˈrɛi̯kioː].

An attraction umbrella that is characterized by the horror genre. The feeling could be sexual, romantic, platonic etc. However it's solely based around the feeling of seeing ones affection as horrific in a horror sense. Other themes can include; blood, screaming, and comfort.

Whump Prompts: Possible Trauma Triggers

I can confidently say this is heavily inspired by my own trauma dksjdksj anyway enjoy.

Content: PTSD/trauma.

Smells/sounds/sights that remind them of that environment, the person who hurt them, etc. Maybe Caretaker wears Whumper's cologne, for example, or their voice somehow resembles Whumper's when in certain situations.

Alcohol. This can be a huge trigger for whumpees who's whumpers were alcoholics or just generally speaking worse/only violent when under the influence. They might hide when Caretaker drinks or do things to make sure they stay on Caretaker's good side until they're sober.

If they were the bloodbag of a vampire, the sight of their own blood could become a trigger. They might be scared that their whumper might smell it or they might just not wanna have their blood taken from them again.

Loud sounds. Alarms, shouting, banging on walls/doors.

Gifts. Whumpee might believe that they now owe the gifter, or they might hate opening wrapped presents because they have no idea what's inside. This could lead to tears, reassuring the gifter that they don't need to do all this to make Whumpee do what they want, they can be good, this isn't necessary.

Physical touch. Touching them without warning, hugs feeling like traps, not being able to escape until the other person says so. So they go stiff or immediately try to escape, hellbent on not falling for it again. They might even hurt Caretaker in the process.

Large crowds.

If they went through torture, things like water (waterboarding, drowning, etc.), sharp objects (cutting, surgeries, etc.) and the such could also be triggers for them.

The dark. Maybe they were kidnapped after dark or their whumper is nocturnal, but this makes for some good angst.

Stuff being close to their neck. They might have problems with collars, chokers, etc. because they were made to wear one during their captivity.

Break their ankles

An intrusive whump thought of the day

Content: broken bones, intimate whumper, medical whump, ptsd, brief needle & drug mention.

A whumpee with broken ankles desperately crawling for the door, clawing at it uselessly after whumper has slammed it shut, sobbing and begging to be let go.

Or trying to crawl away from whumper, painfully dragging their limp, broken bones along the floor behind them.

An amused whumper sitting and watching it happen, laughing at whumpee’s pathetic attempts to get away, knowing that whenever they’ve decided their captive has gotten far enough, they can yank them back by the chain around their neck and drag them back over with ease. What’re they gonna do, fight back?

Whumpee being forced to rely on whumper for every little thing despite loathing them with every fiber of their being.

Whumper having to carry them everywhere (bridal style)

Bonus points if it’s an intimate whumper and they scoop them up and coo sweet things into whumpee’s ear all “aw, poor sweet thing, don’t worry, I’ve got you,” While whumpee sobs hopelessly into their captor’s chest, disgusted with the closeness and absolutely horrified and ashamed at how helpless they feel like this.

Or maybe whumpee tries to claw their way out of their captor’s arms, and whumper just drops them, laughing at how useless and pathetic they look when they collapse in a crying heap on the floor, unable to go anywhere without whumper’s help.

More bonus points if the bones don’t heal properly and they can never walk quite right again, or if standing or walking for too long causes sharp pains to shoot up through their ankles and they collapse from the agony.

If they ever get a recovery arc, having to get their ankles rebroken and reset to heal properly— The sensation of their ankles breaking all over again bringing back horribly traumatic flashbacks, feeling like they’re back with whumper again, that they’re being tortured again, until they’re screaming and begging and calling the doctors sir and sobbing desperately to be let go. The medical staff is horrified.

And maybe they’re writhing around and thrashing so much that they have to be restrained and sedated in order for the medical staff to reset their freshly broken bones.

A nurse jamming a needle into their neck and emptying an entire syringe into their bloodstream with an “It’s alright, sweetheart, this is for your own good.”

Whumpee in a full-scale flashback begging through tears when they feel the needle, “please, please no— please sir, please don’t, please don’t do this— I— I’ve been good— please I— I can’t—please-“ until the sedative kicks in and their head lolls to the side.
