✘ caretaker has whumpee locked in a room (or chained down to a bed) so that whumpee can’t escape, except that — instead of whumpee’s completely being a prisoner — caretaker’s having to hold whumpee captive is genuinely for whumpee’s own safety, too.

✘ whumpee constantly expects caretaker to hurt them.

✘ whumpee may be injured, but they’re not submissive. they always hiss and snarl at caretaker like a caged animal; clearly scared and terrified, yes, but they refuse to surrender.

✘ whumpee tries to attack caretaker, but with them being hurt, caretaker can easily overpower them by placing a firm hand on the back of whumpee’s neck and holding them down to the bed, keeping them still. (keep in mind that caretaker is not hurting whumpee, they’re in fact keeping whumpee from hurting them and themself in the process.)

✘ feeding time is a nightmare when whumpee constantly tries to literally bite caretaker’s hand.

✘ whumpee thrashes around when caretaker holds their jaw open with one hand, feeding them with the other, forcing the food down their throat.

✘ whumpee always challenges caretaker to kill them and just get it over with. but even though whumpee tries to hide it, caretaker can still see genuine fear in whumpee’s eyes.

✘ caretaker isn’t going to “comfort” whumpee (they’re enemies, duhhh), but caretaker does tell whumpee that they’re not going to hurt them. that whumpee doesn’t believe caretaker is… none of caretaker’s problem.

✘ whumpee gets sick and throws up on their bed / on the floor (the choice is yours), they are less embarrassed than they are surprised by how gentle caretaker is being, as caretaker helps clean them up.

✘ or how mindful caretaker is when they’re changing whumpee’s bandages.

✘ caretaker gives whumpee a bath and when whumpee reflexively tries to cover their wounds and their scars even if they know caretaker has already seen them all (because they don’t want caretaker to see what they consider a sign of weakness), caretaker says, “you don’t have to feel like you have to hide your injuries from me. I’m not them. I’m not going to take advantage of your wounded stage. I’m not going to hurt you.” — “what do you want then?” whumpee asks. — “I just want to take care of you and make sure you’re okay,” caretaker replies, firmly but softly with no hint of mockery in their voice.

✘ caretaker hears whumpee cry at night. though whumpee stops and pretends to be asleep when they hear the door open.

✘ caretaker knows whumpee is awake, but caretaker chooses not to say anything.

✘ or, one night, whumpee is awake but pretends to be asleep. this time, however, caretaker doesn’t know whumpee is actually awake when they walk over to whumpee’s bed to adjust the blanket properly around whumpee’s shoulders. whumpee keeps still and continues pretending to be asleep. they only open their eyes when they’re certain caretaker has already left the room, but they don’t push the blanket away, for some reason.

Hidden injuries, my beloved

I posted some of these a while ago in a reblog that I can’t find anymore, but I thought of more so it gets its own post now.

Whumpee insisting throughout the day that they’re fine, they’re fine, they’re fine— until their friends hear a loud crash and find whumpee collapsed on the ground, out cold.

Bonus points if their friends find them with their shirt ridden up, exposing deep wounds, bruises or bloody bandages that cover their limp, unconscious body. 

Whumpee turning their head away and wincing, clutching their side when their friends aren’t watching. 

Moving in a way that rips open barely formed scabs, and suddenly their wounds are gushing blood, through their clothes and down their limbs, and their friends are horrified, crowding around and interrogating them about how the hell they got those injuries.

“oh my god… who did this to you?”

Attending a social event while delirious from injury and blood loss, slurring their words and stumbling slightly every few minutes. Their friends notice something is off right away.

“What’s wrong, are you drunk or something?” — “oh ahahh nono… jusalilt-tired…” Their friends are not convinced.

A forceful caretaker who has to drag it out of them— “Stop. I don’t want to hear your shitty excuses this time. You’re going to tell me who the hell did this. Right. Now.” 

Whumpee hiding their own injuries while caring for an injured friend, insisting they’re fine and that their friend’s state is what matters (mm self sacrifice tropes) 

Being forced to return to work and pretending they’re fine, trying desperately to act like they’re not sustaining multiple horrible injuries—like the skin under their work clothes isn’t covered in deep purple bruises and painful gashes. 

On their feet all day, moving around or bending down, trying so hard to look cheerful and energized, like their ribs aren’t probably fractured and stabbing them with pain at every movement. 

Everything at the bar is going well until the group stands up to leave and someone gasps in horror at the blood that is pooling through the fabric of whumpee’s shirt or already dripping down their skin. 

Whumpee scrambling to try to cover themselves— they hadn’t even noticed the wounds had already bled through the bandages.

Unexpectedly collapsing into a friends arms after insisting they were fine all evening.

Or maybe no one’s there to catch them in time and they just crumple to the floor in front of everyone, unconscious. 

none of their friends know what happened to whumpee when they’d disappeared for a few months last year —but one day, long after their rescue, they remove their shirt to go swimming or they change in front of a friend, and they suddenly hear ‘Holy shit whumpee… how— how did you get all those scars on your back?’

In a public setting where people can’t see them but can hear them (dressing room, bathroom stall, etc), whumper reaching under their shirt and digging their fingers into the barely closed wounds, ripping them open again and just feeling around inside the open wound. Leaning in close to whumpee’s ear with a low voice — ‘better stay quiet dear, or someone might hear us— and you know what happens then.’ 

And whumpee is forced to stand still and take it, dripping blood everywhere, their own hand clamped over their mouth and try to stifle their own whimpering, until whumper finally pulls their fingers out, causing a new gush of blood - ‘god what a mess you’ve made… you’d better clean that up quickly—wouldnt want anyone to find your blood all over the place and ask what happened’

Forceful caretakers & defiant whumpees

A prompt from my hidden injuries post got me thinking about this dynamic ✨ (using FC for forceful caretaker)

Content: Forceful/bad caretaker, forced medical treatment, defiant whumpee, restraints, gags, caretaker turned whumper, manhandling, forced stripping (nonsexual), humiliation my beloved

A whumpee for whom mysterious injuries are a chronic problem—a regular occurrence—they keep dodging their friends questions, they start hiding their injuries, albeit poorly sometimes, until one day they come in so incredibly injured, with blood seeping through their clothes and dark bruises on their skin, poorly hidden beneath a layer of concealer that does little to mask the deep patches of dark purple and red.  

Eventually, FC is fed up. They’re all just trying to help and whumpee doesn’t even appreciate it. They keep brushing them off. How insulting. How ungrateful. 

One day FC finally snaps and they shove whumpee back against the wall, making them wince and gasp sharply with the pain of the movement.

FC pins them there with a vice grip around their throat— “Oh, you’re fine, are you? Then what the hell was that, hm?”” 

“N-nothing I—“ FC jabs a finger into the side of their ribcage, and whumpee hisses in pain, their eyes squeeze shut tightly— they’re shaking between wincing, panted breaths. 

They can’t hide their reactions any better than they can hide the limp in their step, the way they wince and grab their side when they think no ones looking. But now FC has proved it in front of the whole group, and whumpee is not getting away that easily. 

Another forced exposure: Whumpee wincing at something one too many times— maybe someone just lightly bumps into them— and their pained reaction has FC grabbing their wrist and hauling them off like—“Thats it I knew it, I fucking knew it. WHAT have I told you. Get in the car NOW.” 

And whumpee is pulling back against their grip, “I’m sorry im sorry! Just please don’t—“ — “Shut. Up. Now get in. We’re going to the fucking hospital.”

Okay mock executions are fucking terrifying I have not seen nearly enough of them in the whump community.

Whumpee who knows they’re going to die the next week/day/few hours and there’s nothing they can do to stop it. The panic and desperation with no outlet. They claw at their restraints and throw themself at the door to their cell, uncaring as bruises bloom across their skin, or as blood begins to build up underneath their nails. They’re willing to sacrifice everything for the futile, fleeting hope of escape. They scream and beg until their voice goes hoarse even though there’s no one nearby to listen. Eventually, they crumple in on themself to the awful realization that their future is set and cut. They can’t even sleep without their dreams being plagued with this lingering terror. Maybe they’ve seen Whumper kill someone in the manner they’ve told Whumpee they are to be executed, so Whumpee can’t even pretend to think that maybe Whumper is bluffing.

When the day comes, they still haven’t settled into their fate. They’re absolutely hysterical, doing everything they can to stay away from Whumper and [insert place where they were planned to be executed]. Of course, this does nothing. If they won’t walk, Whumper’s men will simply drag them. At one point maybe Whumpee manages to break free for a short moment of hope, managing to throw their elbow against Henchman’s stomach and twist away, actions fueled only by the adrenaline flooding their mind. They take a single desperate lunge towards the door, before something hard catches them upside the head and knocks them down. Their vision is fuzzy and fleeting, hearing nothing but a faint ringing. Maybe they’re unconscious altogether as Henchman picks them up and continues to drag them towards their final destination.

Whumper plays out everything the way it was intended. They tie the blindfold over Whumpee’s eyes, exchange their chains for softer restraints. Whatever. Then when it comes time for the strike, for the blade to pierce through their chest or slit across their neck, all that Whumpee feels is a small prick against their neck, something cold flood through their body before their thoughts collapse under the intensify of the stress and their mind gives out.

Wherever they wake the following day, let it be somewhere much worse than death’s doorstep or a place so peaceful Whumpee couldn’t even begin to comprehend, Whumpee will be terrified. Panicked and confused. Their thoughts will have no answer as they realized there is no one else around to answer their cries. They wonder if this is death, the afterlife or whatever it was called.

That hope is crushed, replaced by even more of a helpless confusion as Whumper strolls through the door moments later, grinning as they ran their fingers across the sharp of a blade.

Whump Prompts: Strangulation/Asphyxiation

Taken from this post of mine:)

Content: Asphyxiation, collars, burns, heat whump, [implied] pet whump, choking, dehydration, immortal whumpee, begging, gags.

Whumper tightening Whumpee's collar by one hole each time they misbehave. Really, it's up to Whumpee as to whether they want to be able to breathe or not within the next few hours.

Whumpee stucks their tongue out after a certain amount of time without air, and Whumper thinks it's the cutest thing ever. Cue them randomly reaching out to choke them and just waiting to see Whumpee start to drool and for their tongue to stick out.

Whumpee's raspy breaths in as the force around their neck slowly tightens.

Shoving their face near a pot of boiling water and threatening to drown them in it.

Whumper trying to "squeeze the tears out of them". AKA Whumpee cries when they're choked.

Whumpee mouthing the word "please" over and over again and Whumper choosing to take it as "squeeze harder".

That huge gasp of air and the way their body writhes when they're finally able to breathe again.

A reverse gag being shoved down their throat until they learn to be respectful.

The little choked whimpers that Whumpee lets out as their airflow is cut off.

Forcing so much water down a dehydrated whumpee's throat that it chokes them.

An immortal whumpee who can't pass out from suffocation, blood loss, etc. being forced to live in a constant state of asphyxiation that would kill a mere mortal in minutes.

A torture interrogation tactics list sounds like such a good idea! I’d love to write some torture interrogation things for you. There’s so many different methods and categories to explore when torturing interrogating, so this might go a little long 😅

There's both physical and psychological tactics (of course there's some crossover, but ya know).

(tw: so much....idk how to even tw for this because....well...that would just be re-writing the list. But there's eaten-alive animal whump and some light fingore which hits the big common squiks. lots of basic torture and pain)

Physical Techniques

Long Game

Drip torture. Tie them down with something rigged up above them so water will drip on their face every few seconds. Make it so they cant move - so each drop hits the same place every time. At first, it's no big deal. After a few hours, they start to lose their minds. They go numb yet it's excruciating. Their body doesn't know how to process the sensation anymore and they start begging. It's so easy and so lovely.

Thousand-cut torture. Just make hundreds of tiiiiiiiiny little cuts. Paper-cuts, really. Each one stings and burns, but nothing major. But hundreds? Thousands? It becomes too much so so so so fast. They go numb, then hypersensitive. Each one compounding on the others.

STRESS POSITIONS. Sorry this is a favorite. I get excited. Tie them in a way that strains them. Their muscles. Their joints. Don't let them sleep. There's only the constant ache and unnatural twisting of their bones. Or...ropes around their neck. Don't fall asleep, Whumpee. You won't wake back up....

Cold. Keep them in a cold room. Let them shiver and watch their fingers turn blue. Constant aching, never sure when they can get out.

Alternately, heat. Let them go delirious from dehydration, checking in only so see if they're ready to talk.

Thousands of tiiiiiny stabs. Similar to the thousand-cut torture, but just poke poke poke with a needle. Over and over again. They'll go hypersensitive. Then numb. Then it's back again. See witch tests for more.

There's a lovely cowboy torture where you soak a leather whip or lariat in water (let it get nice and soft and stretched out), then tie it around the victim's throat. String them up so they're standing comfortably in their noose. The sun beats down on them. The leather dries. The rope shrinks. Slow-motion strangulation. All the time in the world to think about the sensation of dying. All the time in the world to change their mind about being uncooperative.

Pain

Do I really need to get too much into this?? We have.....

Ripping off fingernails.

Breaking bones.

Cutting/stabbing.

Dislocating joints. Bonus points if you keep popping it back into socket, then grinding it out again. Over and over. Lots of screaming with that one.

Burning.

Pressure Points.

Whipping.

Electrocution.

Etc etc etc. Y'all know how to whump, I have faith in you lol.

Air

People get desperate so fast when they cant breath. We have....

Drowning.

Water-boarding.

Strangulation.

Plastic bags over the head.

Just covering their mouth and nose.

Keeping them in a small, sealed room - let them slowly panic as the oxygen runs out.

Psychological

Isolation. Lock them in a room for months on end. Irregular meals. No access to clocks or windows. Just constant droning silence and grey walls. Let them go mad

The REID method. Honestly not torture - genuine interrogation. It's no longer allowed for use in police stations because it messes with the subject's head so much they often confess to things they didn't do - even to the point of believing they did. It includes things like crowding and intimidating the subject, and talking over them to prevent them for verbalizing anything you don't want them to say (eg: denial).

Hints. Just clues. Let them drives themselves mad trying to figure out what you're going to do next. For example, walk in with a rat, a bucket, and an iron. Take a phone call and walk out with a 'I gotta handle this, I'll be back in a bit'. Just let their imaginations run wild.

More blackmailing than true interrogation, but just show Whumpee a list of names and addresses. Let them see that it's not just their life on the line - there's plenty of unsuspecting loved ones out there who would have no idea what hit them.

PHOBIAS. Okay I have a thing for phobias, don't come for me. But it takes so little effort if you have their weak spot. Is it spiders? Snakes? Darkness? Small Spaces? Find it. Use it. Watch them break.

This is half physical, but....Bleeding out. Make a cut. Watch it drip. Every drop brings them closer to death. Give them a nice long time to think on that.

The good-old-fashioned 'make them watch'. Let Whumpee see you torturing a loved one or a friend instead. See how long they can stand hearing the screams.

Animals

Okay this might get a little squikky, but there's lots of animals that can be of assistance.

Rats. Leave whumpee bound and defenseless, preferably bleeding, and rats will have no qualms nibbling away at them. (bonus points to anyone who knows / can guess the rat and bucket thing I mentioned earlier).

Wild animals (particularly wolves, coyotes, wild dogs). Same concept. Leave them smelling delicious and defenseless and let them wait there, knowing the animals will gladly tear them apart when Whumper leaves.

Bugs. Especially spiders, most people do not like. They especially wouldn't like...say...being stuck in a box full of them. Unable to even open their mouth without getting some inside. Fire ants would also be great.

Pigs. Probably not a good long-game, but they'll eat you alive. They're vicious. Unlike the others, they truly don't care if you fight back. They'll tear your Whumpee to shreds and take care of most of the evidence for you. For a whumpee who knows what pigs can do, the thought of being forced in that pen is terrifying.

Just imagine if the Whumper had a box of bullet ants. Most painful sting on earth (supposedly), and it won't kill you. Not even a little. Every wrong answer gets you another sting.

I...uh...know another cowboy torture from old movies that I'm not gonna elaborate on, but it involves a hungry baby calf and only works on half the population. Just...I'll just...leave you to figure that one out.

Maggots. Maggots are actually pretty good for open wounds - they eat out the dead cells but leave the living. Still, imagine how horrifying it would be to be bound and have to watch maggots eat away your flesh. And the smell.

When Caretaker rescued Whumpee from captivity, they were absolutely filthy. Months worth of dirt and grime built against their skin, their hair so matted Caretaker wasn’t sure their newly bought bottle of conditioner would be enough to untangle it.

Naturally, their first instinct was to give Whumpee a bath.

So they carried Whumpee in from the car, and did a quick assessment of their wounds, determining which would need immediate attention and which could wait until later.

Now, Whumpee is drugged out of their mind. Maybe Whumper gave them something earlier to keep them in line, or maybe Caretaker slipped a little sedative into their water to help them relax. Whatever it was, Whumpee was out of it, and as they’re placed into the bath, they were just beginning to come to.

Their vision was much too blurred to make out details such as faces or locations, all they can register is the warm water soaking through their clothes and the hands touching them, carding through their hair and snagging against the knots.

Even as the fog clears from their mind, any bit of coherency is lost within vivid flashbacks of being forced underwater by a hand tangled in their hair, held there until they nearly blacked out, only to be wrenched above the surface and hit on the back until they were forced to cough up whatever they had inhaled, all while leaving Caretaker to deal with a screaming, thrashing mess of a person and dirty water splashing across their entire bathroom.

I promise I’ll post some actual writing either tomorrow or Wednesday
