honestly i don’t read much regulus or harry potter fics in general, so i only really have one fic rec which is this one or anything by lullabyknell :)

Seer!Regulus where the first thing he ever Sees is his death in the cave. He feels apathetic towards most things because he happens to have foresight and feels as though it’s all set in stone already. Everything he interacts with is an omen (his wand is cypress wood and thestral, every time he drinks tea the leaves seem to spell something out, he dreams of Sirius running away despite him not showing any signs at home, looks into a fire and sees the Dark Mark). He goes into the cave and drinks the poison, gets dragged underwater, but in the middle of drowning has a vision of Voldemort having made other Horcruxes, and he’s like oh shit, I refuse to die now. So he gives Fate a big ol’ middle finger and manages to gtfo (maybe through some weird apparition clause or whatev) and for the first time, he has no idea what the future holds.

Regulus Black finds out he is part of a prophecy. He is to lead the Choosen One to victory aginst Voldemort and decides he doesnt want anything to do with that. So he flings himself into the future to avoid it at age 18 and lands in a tiny cupboard with a little boy with green eyes of six staring at him.

like he didn’t wanna be part of this prophecy but him going forward did it anyway and regulus is like well shit
fiftieth prompt:
when he’s thirteen, regulus and sirius are forced to attend a banquet being held at one of their family members homes. bellatrix supposes it would be funny to try a new spell she learned out on sirius, but regulus pushes his brother out of the way in time for it to hit him instead.
next he knows, he’s transported into a park at night, a boy who introduces himself as harry potter, also thirteen, next to him.
forty ninth prompt:
the sword unexpectedly comes to regulus in the cave, but before he can fend off the inferi with it, he’s transported underneath a sheet of ice and into freezing water.
or,
when harry pulls the sword from the frozen river when he’s hunting for horcruxes, regulus is dragged out with it.

forty seventh prompt:
regulus is sent forward in time, into harry’s fifth year. he’s in his younger 15-year-old body, and the book starts off with him waking up on the knight bus, still holding all his memories.
he attends hogwarts again, with the help of dumbledore telling the teachers to not say anything about him. regulus also gets sorted into slytherin, and is tasked by dumbledore to help with researching the horcruxes.
it’s only when harry struggles with teaching a spell to dumbledore’s army that regulus is approached and asked to co-teach.
some things that could be used:
- regulus uses the room of requirement for a new library with some horcrux books in it. hermione sees him use the wall one time and tries to like interrogate him and he’s like uhm
- he helps the weasleys do a prank at one point and they’re the ones that recommend he can help the army
- harry’s always staring at him cause ‘wow this dude looks so familiar’
- regulus and snape argue in class constantly
- regulus starts teaching harry occlumency
- he’s got tons of scars from the inferni and when umbridge is like “nothings gonna hurt you!” that one time in class everyone just turns and. stares at him
- or, instead of the weasleys recommending him it’s luna cause they’re friends :)
- regulus mothers draco cause he was supposed to be his godfather lmao
- he could run in and save sirius at last minute
- oh yeah he’d need to have a different name as well lmaoo
- honestly should i write this i have so many ideas
forty first prompt:
regulus survives and wakes up in the future during one of harry’s years, but at what cost? none were supposed to be able to live past the inferni, and now that he has he has to live with a horrible curse: control of the undead.
thirty ninth prompt:
regulus lives, saved by muggle policemen who have been examining the cave, finding it suspicious as it’s a place where lots go missing. he is forced to work with a detective, being the only one to come out there alive.

After Sirius is badly hurt by Walburga, Regulus takes him to the Potters, where Euphemia takes him under her wing until Sirius is awake and healed. They have days baking and playing piano, James, Fleamont are all huge quidditch and have days spend on their brooms. When Sirius wakes up he realises Regulus has fit in perfectly with his found family, and the potters don’t plan on letting the two Black brothers go..

AN: HP OC-SI fic: hallow things
1.5k rough beginning to an OC-SI fic, in which a modern OC gets inserted into the HP universe as the older sibling of Severus Snape, into the Snape family as a 11-year-old child. I wrote this about a year ago as a warm-up exercise and, though I don’t intend to ever properly write it, I occasionally revisit this fic idea to write warm-up meta snippets.

Sure, other platforms may call them “followers” too, but only Tumblr can capture the feel of a faceless crowd of huddled masses trailing after you about a city block’s distance away, picking up pages of your diary or scrawlings that you drop on the ground as you walk along. Some of these people have been there for years. Some only joined the crowd last week. Collectively, the crowd is ancient and ageless. Who are they? What do they want from you? Nobody knows. Walk a little faster.
In which Walburga told baby Regulus that 'Black's do not bend to anyone', so years later, when there's this wannabe Dark Lord with no actual pureblood linage (Salazar family line never continued as far as he knows) and he sees his family becoming pathetic for following a nobody, he refuses to acknowledge their desires for him to be a Death Eater (and his whole family in general for being disgraces to the Black name) and, instead, works to find ways of preserving their good name once this whole insanity was over.
Regulus, to Sirius who was going to the Potters: It's better if you leave now, brother. I, for my part, will stay here to uphold the true name of the Blacks and their values: elegance, power, and greatness. I have no time to waste in the pathetic games of a nobody our parents so disgracefully have fallen for.
