puss in boots: the last wish has been eating at me for a lil bit, so have the funky brain idea. In the lyrics for “Fearless Hero (Hero Version)” it goes through multiple lines of Puss asking questions about himself four times and a chorus responds with “You are”. Here, it goes like this the second time around.

“Who is ready for trouble? (You are, you are) Who is unbelievably humble? (You are, you are) Who’s never been touched by a blade? (You are, you are)”

I’ll stop it here because the last line is what I’m interested in. Unlike the previous two lines, the chorus response doesn’t line up with the question. I mean, responding to “Who’s never been touched by a blade?” with “You are?” Weird. This could just be written off as a part of how the song goes, but I digress.

Because, and this is where the spoilers kick in slightly so if you don’t want those don’t keep reading; he is touched by a blade. The chorus can’t answer him accurately because he has been touched by a blade, and answering correctly would contradict the plot of the movie.

If you’re attentive, you would’ve been wondering “What about the fourth line of the chorus, Sircle?” Well, the fourth line goes like this.

“Puss in Boots is never afraid! (You are, you are)”

Interesting, right? Puss declares that he’s “never afraid”, and the chorus responds with “you are.” This one they answer, loud and clear. Puss in Boots is afraid, contradictory to his claim. This isn’t a question Puss asks, it’s a lie. (You are afraid, you are lying)

there is a small statue of a strange robot with a single yellow glowing eye and a body made of cables and white plating that sits in sniper’s room/van. no one knows what it is, and if you ask sniper he either stutters or walks away muttering under his breath. what confuses everyone the most is the fact that sniper is very old-school. he has no clue how technology works, and barely knew how to use a phone when he arrived at Mann Co. why does he have a statue of a robot in his room?

(hint - it’s GLaDOS :>)

bonus: spy caught sniper once petting the head of it. when asked, sniper yelled “Like you would understand,” which was followed by sniper slamming the door and spy holding broken fingers to his chest and doubling over.

However the cheekbones, Hosonaga is implied to have tuberculosis, and people with TB tends to get thinner and thinner, making their cheekbones more prominent. Search for images of Okita Sōji before (on Wikipedia) getting the illness and after, it's quite terrifying..!

Ooh! I searched it up, but didn't find anything on it on the Okita Sōji article sadly. But that does make a lot of sense! He always seemed really skinny and frail lmao--nice to know that there's a reason behind it. I'll do more research on the illness in the meantime. For me this can go two ways. One could be that the tuberculosis caused the pronounced cheekbones, or the other being that it made it more present (if that makes any sense? i'm super tired rn hahdshabfs)
