Mei, what's your favorite thing about Ponyville?

“The sun.” Mei replies, looking directly at the screen while resting her head atop her front hooves. There's a small green horn on her head - seems like it's growing again!

Looking away, she continues: “Sounds weird, right? I know. But I lived most of my fillyhood in the domain of Magnífica Aurora- the sunlight never hits there. It's a place of eternal night.”

“It's a nice change of pace, if you ask me.”

Mei is lying down in the purple grass with Teashle, staring at the night clouds with a smile. She says "We're floating right above Equestria, actually! Well... what's left of it, at least. We've been calling it “Dark Slumber” ever since the Tantabus took over the islands centuries and centuries ago!"

And continues "The In-betweens are domains that float between our land and the darker lands below. You could say that our society is divided into three parts like this!"

“Anything from the In-betweens and up is part of Dreamtide, and anything from the In-betweens and down, is part of the Dark Slumber! It's super easy to understand!”

Ameisha, are you, by chance, related to Peppermint Twist in any way? You have very similar coat and mane colors.

First of all, thanks for asking this! Made me search through the depths of my gallery to find her reference, haha-

But anyways, time to yap about my universe a bit!!

Mei's entire family deals with something called Echo Syndrome. “But what's that?” You may ask- it's not a very difficult thing to understand! Think of it as a want / desire that is not actually desired by someone; Here, unwanted desires are like echoes, that reverberate until they form something new. Hence the name. ✨

So, Meet... “Hunger”! Mei's undesired echo. This is all hereditary, so maybe it helps to imagine where, or rather, who, the girls actually came from!
