Un simple y rápido dibujo

A simple and quick drawing

Idea: McCoy es un gran doctor, incluso en el universo del Mirror, pero a menudo se ve eclipsado por Spock. Su trabajo nunca está recompensado, y todos piensan que es inútil (es un trabajo que no exige capacidades físicas. La fuerza física en el universo del Mirror es esencial). Spock le obliga a hacer entrenamiento, pero es muy duro con él y lo sobreexplota. McCoy llega a pensar que ser doctor no sirve de mucho en este universo, hasta que salva a Spock de la muerte con sus habilidades médicas y su pericia. A partir de ahí descubre cómo poner cualquier situación peligrosa en su favor en vez de usar la fuerza bruta, y Spock se lo agradece.

Idea: McCoy is a great doctor, even in the Mirror universe, but he is often overshadowed by Spock. His work is never rewarded, and everyone thinks he's useless (it's a job that doesn't require physical abilities. Physical strength in the Mirror universe is essential). Spock forces him to do training, but is very hard on him and over-exploits him. McCoy comes to think that being a doctor is of little use in this universe, until he saves Spock from death with his medical skills and expertise. From there he discovers how to turn any dangerous situation to his advantage instead of using brute force, and Spock thanks him for it.

THEIR RELATIONSHIP IN THE MIRRORVERSE

If McCoy was bashful in the normal universe, I think in the Mirrorverse even more so. Not because of his personality, but because of what Spock represents. In the beginning of their relationship, Bones dares very little, occasionally patting him on the shoulder or back. When he feels more confident, maybe a hug, but not too tight. Spock is the one who keeps everything going, he accepts McCoy's touches, although he would like them to be more. He often caresses him in private, but there isn't much physical contact either, it's more like verbal affection. Their relationship takes longer to develop than in the normal universe because it isn't until later that they fully trust each other.

Once Bones discovers that it's serious, he's encouraged to give him little kisses, to sit beside him and snuggle into his arms in private. He realises that he really likes him and would like things to go faster, but he gives it time, doesn't want to spoil it, and is still afraid of upsetting Spock and making him leave the relationship. Spock sees an improvement in McCoy's attitude and becomes more affectionate verbally, not so much physically. It still gives him a bit of decorum to be around him, and as much as he wants to move on to "the next phase", he doesn't force anything.

I put a "Keep reading":

Some time later discovering themselves, they start with gentle caresses on their arms and hair. That is what they need in their everyday life, something to alleviate the horror of their universe, something to forget about injustice and violence. It helps them a lot to get to know each other better, to find out what they like, to talk about the future, etcetera. For the first time, they feel happy and comfortable. McCoy sees that Spock is not a bully and Spock realises that Bones is not just a sentimentalist. In short, they trust each other well.

As their relationship prospers, they share more time together and dare to deepen in their emotions. However, their verbal language is more developed than physical contact. On one terrible day, when they are very tired of their society, they decide to sleep together. They discover that it's very comforting for them to cuddle, and then they start to attach more importance to physical contact than before. Of course, they hide it from everyone.

On the issue of who is the big spoon and the little spoon, in this case I think, without doubt, that Spock is the big spoon. This time it's not so evenly matched, because McCoy lets himself be handled a lot, and even though Spock is quite soft with him, McCoy likes it. There are times when Bones is dominant, but they're fewer.

Am I the only one who thinks the Mirrorverse soundtrack would be mostly power metal?

When I listen to metal while I'm thinking of some scenes to draw I think it would look amazing

Imagine that Mirror Spock listened to Jim of the normal universe and rebelled against the tyrant of his captain. Then imagine a scene where the two are fighting to the death, on the edge of a cliff, remembering all the things they've done together, while Ava of Death of Eleine is playing in the background

And as there are many types of metal, for every scene (sad, scary, happy, fighting...) there is a song that suits.

Or maybe I'm a bit obsessed with metal music...

Quería un dibujo para mi carpeta de clase y se me ocurrió hacer este (por una vez que necesito algo en papel, voy y lo hago en digital 😆). Creo que lo imprimiré a ver cómo queda.

I wanted a drawing for my class folder and I came up with this one (for once I need something on paper, I do it digitally 😆). I think I'll print it out and see how it looks.

Before you read, I have to make a clarification: dialogue with trembling lines is to symbolise a trembling voice, and dialogue with broken lines is to symbolise whispering (although there are no whispers in these pages)

Parece que cada vez todo se complica más. Jones y Francis eran alumnos de McCoy y destrozaron una muestra suya, y Jones muere asesinado pero con su sistema nervioso destrozado por bacterias de laboratorio. ¿Qué relación tendrán unas cosas con otras?

This seems to be getting more and more complicated. Jones and Francis were McCoy's students and destroyed a sample of his, and Jones died murdered but with his nervous system destroyed by lab bacteria. How do these things relate to each other?

Un dibujo "rápido" en el móvil. Ha quedado mejor de lo que pensaba (aunque haya cosas que no me convenzan del todo). No sé poner sombras... 😬

A ver si consigo acabar el primer capítulo para el día 31... (Tengo pensado subir uno o dos capítulos por mes, aunque en cuanto empiecen las clases me será complicado)

La primera vez que dibujo a Chapel, y es para el cómic. No me ha resultado tan terriblemente difícil como con Kirk (no sé dibujarle), pero cuesta cogerle el punto.

The first time I've drawn Chapel, and it's for the comic. I haven't found it as terribly difficult as Kirk (I don't know how to draw him), but it's hard to get the hang of it.

La he intentado dibujar con los labios pintados (como sale en TOS), y parece que lleva los labios pintados de negro. Después de ver cómo había quedado, tengo que decir que a Mirror Chapel le pegan los labios de color negro 😉

I tried to draw her with painted lips (like in TOS), and it looks like she has black lips. After seeing how it turned out, I have to say that Mirror Chapel looks good with black lips 😉

Este es el primer dibujo que hice en el ordenador con la tableta gráfica de mi hermana. Fue un dibujo rápido, casi un boceto. Tan solo quería probar cómo iba el programa de dibujo.

This is the first drawing I did on the computer with my sister's graphic tablet. It was a quick drawing, almost a sketch. I just wanted to test how the drawing program worked.

Tengo que aprender a usar esa tableta y dejar de hacer un mogollón de líneas, pero por algo se empieza.

I have to learn how to use that tablet and stop making a lot of lines, but that's a start.

Estoy sorprendida por la calidad de las imágenes. Aún no sé cómo funciona lo de los píxeles y quizás me haya pasado con la resolución (tengo que decir que es la calidad que viene por defecto).

I am surprised by the quality of the images. I still don't know how the pixel thing works and I may have overdone it with the resolution (I have to say that this is the default quality).

Tengo un headcanon de Spones en el Mirrorverse:

I have a Spones headcanon in the Mirrorverse:

McCoy tiene un poco de miedo de Spock, porque normalmente le ve torturar a gente con el agonizador y todo eso. Además, hay que admitir que con ese traje, la barba y el hecho de ser vulcaniano, impone bastante. Bones no se atreve mucho a llevarle la contraria, por mucho que Spock esté equivocado. Y cada vez que se dirige a él con un tono enfadado, McCoy prefiere callarse. Esto no ocurre siempre, claro.

McCoy is a bit afraid of Spock, because he usually sees him torturing people with the agoniser and things like that. Besides, we have to admit that with that suit, the beard and the fact that he's Vulcan, he's pretty imposing. Bones doesn't really dare to contradict him, no matter how wrong Spock is. And whenever he addresses him in an angry tone, McCoy prefers to keep quiet. This doesn't always happen, of course.

Por su parte, Spock, después de un tiempo, se da cuenta del temor que infunde en el doctor, y en muchas ocasiones lo aprovecha para meterse con él (aunque solo sea una broma, McCoy se lo toma en serio). Sin embargo, a largo plazo, intenta hacer que Bones deje de tenerle miedo, porque, de alguna manera, le ha cogido demasiado cariño y ya no disfruta como antes el hacerle sufrir tanto. No tiene éxito.

For his part, Spock, after a while, realises the fear he instils in the doctor, and often takes advantage of it to tease him (although it's just a joke, McCoy takes it seriously). In the long run, however, he tries to make Bones stop being afraid of him, because, somehow, he has grown too fond of him and no longer enjoys making him suffer as much as he used to. He doesn't succeed.

Una vez que se lo encuentra por la nave, Spock empieza una conversación con él, y a propósito, empieza a decir cosas que están mal, como que el dolor de cabeza es porque te abdujeron de pequeño. Al ver que McCoy no le reprocha la tontería que acaba de decir, toma cartas en el asunto y va directo al grano (pongo "Seguir leyendo" para que no se haga muy largo el post) :

Once he meets him around the ship, Spock strikes up a conversation with him, and on purpose, he starts saying things that are wrong, like that the headache is because you were abducted as a child. Seeing that McCoy doesn't reproach him for the nonsense he just said, he takes matters into his own hands and gets straight to the point (I put a "Read more" so that the post isn't too long):

McCoy se queda a la vez sorprendido e indeciso sobre qué pensar ahora sobre Spock. Lo más probable es que más tarde vaya a preguntale por qué hizo eso 😄

McCoy is both surprised and undecided about what to think about Spock now. Most likely later he'll go ask him why he did that 😄

I've uploaded the first four pages of the comic (actually the first page is the cover). Almost nothing happens, and I'd like to draw faster, but I do what I can 😬

Me gusta hacer escenas largas, con espacios intermedios entre diálogos, porque así la historia no queda tan acelerada y forzada. He aquí el principio:

Bueno, ya he acabado de pensar la historia y de hacer en sucio el cómic que previamente mencioné hace un tiempo.

Well, I've finished the story and sketching the comic I previously mentioned a while ago.

Esta sería la portada (no sé cómo dibujar a Jim, pero esta es la vez en la que más se parece)

Spones in the Mirrorverse (part 1)

Esta primera parte trata de cómo Spock investiga un asesinato (y no quiero hacer spoiler así que mejor no digo más). Quiero que quede claro que yo no soy escritora, así que no os esperéis una obra maestra de la narrativa 😆

This first part is about how Spock investigates a murder (and I don't want to make spoiler, so I won't say more). I want to make it clear that I'm not a writer, so don't expect a masterpiece of storytelling 😆

Se supone que es de Spones, y me he centrado en la relación que tienen en el universo del Mirror. Ya tengo pensadas las continuaciones a este cómic, por eso pone primera parte (tengo pensada hasta una quinta parte)

It's supposed to be about Spones, and I've focused on the relationship they have in the Mirrorverse. I've already thought about the continuations to this comic, that's why it says first part (I have up to a fifth part)

No sé muy bien cómo subir el cómic, si subir de una en una las páginas o hasta que haya un corte de escena. Creo que subiré cuatro páginas cada vez (lo que para mí equivale a un folio). Esta historia tiene 35 folios (y aún no he empezado a transcribirla, empiezo hoy. Según vaya acabando cada folio, lo subo)

I'm not sure how to upload the comic, whether to upload one page at a time or until there's a cut scene. I think I'll upload four pages at a time (which is equivalent to one sheet for me). This story is 35 sheets long (and I haven't started transcribing it yet, I'm starting today. As I finish each page, I'll upload it)

Además, tan solo subiré la versión en inglés (con los diálogos traducidos del español) para que no se haga pesado leer la traducción fuera de lo que es el dibujo. Si alguien quiere que también suba la original en español, que me lo diga, no tengo problema (solo lo subo en inglés porque la gran mayoría de gente no habla español y entiende mejor el inglés, pero si alguien me avisa, también lo subo en español)

Moreover, I will only upload the English version (with the dialogues translated from Spanish) so that you don't have to read the translation outside of the drawing. If someone wants me to upload the original in Spanish, let me know, I have no problem (I only upload it in English because most people don't speak Spanish and understand English better, but if someone tells me, I'll upload it in Spanish too)

La vida en el universo del Mirror es muy dura. No se puede confiar en nadie, hay traición en todos los rincones. Y, por si fuera poco, nunca debes dejar ver tu debilidad. En este universo no se vive, se sobrevive; no se duerme, se está atento... no se ama, se odia.

Life in the Mirrorverse is very hard. You can't trust anyone, there is betrayal in every corner. And, on top of that, you must never let your weakness show. In this universe you don't live, you survive; you don't sleep, you watch your back... you don't love, you hate.

Es un universo miserable en el que los actos de la gente son desesperados, cautivos de una sociedad corrompida y a punto de desmoronarse, donde la catástrofe podría estallar en cualquier momento.

It's a vile universe in which people's actions are desperate, captive to a corrupt and crumbling society, where catastrophe could strike at any moment.

El día a día es cuando la personalidad de la gente se forma. Si, en la vida, lo único que hay es violencia, crueldad y odio, por muchas ganas que alguien tenga de cambiar el mundo, al final esa persona se acaba apagando.

Day by day is when people's personalities are formed. In life, if there's only violence, cruelty and hatred, no matter how much someone wants to change the world, that person will eventually fade away.

No obstante, aun sin conseguir convertir la vida en algo alegre, grato y maravilloso, una persona incansable, luchadora y leal nunca se apartará de tu lado.

However, even if you don't manage to turn life into something joyful, pleasant and wonderful, a tireless, fighting, loyal person will never leave your side.
