Incorporating these tips into your routine can help you feel balanced and refreshed!
As students, we often find ourselves buried under a mountain of assignments, exams, and extracurricular activities. While itโs important to work hard and stay dedicated, itโs equally important to give your mind and body the rest they deserve. In this blog post, weโll explore why rest is crucial and how to balance work and relaxation effectively.
Rest isnโt just about sleeping or being lazy; itโs an essential part of maintaining mental and physical well-being. Continuous study sessions without breaks can lead to burnout, stress, and decreased productivity. Taking regular breaks helps to:
โข Refresh your mind: Breaks improve focus and retention of information.
โข Boost creativity: Rest allows your brain to form new ideas and solutions.
โข Reduce stress: Taking time off helps in managing anxiety and maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
The key to effective studying is incorporating regular breaks into your schedule. Hereโs a general guideline on how often to rest:
1.The Pomodoro Technique: Study for 25 minutes and then take a 5-minute break. After four cycles, take a longer break of 15-30 minutes.
2.Hourly Breaks: If you prefer longer study sessions, try studying for 50 minutes and then taking a 10-minute break.
3.Daily Rest: Make sure you have time each day to unwind and do something you enjoyโwhether itโs exercising, reading, or spending time with friends.
4.Weekly Rest: Dedicate at least one day a week where you limit your study time and focus on relaxing and recharging.
Thank you!
Studying can be a challenging task, but with the right approach, it becomes much easier and more productive. Here are a few tips to help you study effectively:
1.Create a Study Plan
Set specific goals and break them into manageable tasks. A good plan will help you stay organized and focused on what needs to be done.
2.Find Your Ideal Study Environment
Choose a place that is quiet and free from distractions. Whether itโs a library, a cafรฉ, or your room, make sure itโs a place where you can concentrate.
3.Use Active Learning Techniques
Engage with the material actively. Summarize what youโve learned, ask questions, and discuss topics with others to deepen your understanding.
4.Take Regular Breaks
Donโt study for hours without rest. Take short breaks to refresh your mind. This will improve your focus and keep your energy levels up.
5.Stay Positive and Consistent
Studying is a long-term process. Stay motivated and donโt get discouraged by setbacks. Consistency is key to success.
Mental Health Tips for Students:๐
Here are a few simple tips to help maintain your mental well-being:
1.Set Realistic Goals: Donโt overload yourself with too many tasks at once. Break your goals down into manageable steps and celebrate small achievements along the way.
2.Take Breaks: Regular breaks during study sessions can boost your productivity and reduce stress. Try going for a walk, listening to music, or meditating for a few minutes.
3.Stay Connected: Make time to talk to friends and family. Socializing can be a great way to relieve stress and get emotional support.
4.Sleep and Eat Well: Proper rest and a balanced diet play a significant role in your mental health. Aim for 7-8 hours of sleep a night and try to include nutritious foods in your diet.
5.Ask for Help: If youโre feeling overwhelmed, donโt hesitate to reach out. Many universities offer mental health resources, including counseling and support groups.
Remember, itโs okay to not be okay sometimes. Prioritizing your mental health will help you not only perform better in your studies but also enjoy the university experience to the fullest.
1.Set Clear Goals: Break your larger objectives into smaller, specific tasks for each study session. This makes your progress more manageable and keeps you motivated.
2.Create a Study Schedule: Plan your study time in advance and stick to a routine. This helps develop discipline and ensures you cover all the topics you need.
3.Use Active Learning: Instead of just reading or highlighting, actively engage with the material. Try summarizing what you learn, ask yourself questions, or teach the topic to someone else.
4.Take Regular Breaks: Study in short bursts, like 25-30 minutes, followed by a 5-minute break. This method, known as the Pomodoro Technique, helps keep your mind fresh and focused.
5.Stay Organized: Keep your notes, books, and digital files organized. Having a clean and structured workspace helps you focus better and saves time during study sessions.
6.Use Multiple Resources: Donโt rely on one textbook or resource. Combine materials like videos, online courses, or apps to enhance your understanding of the subject.
7.Review Regularly: Revisit your notes frequently. Regular review helps move information from short-term to long-term memory, making it easier to recall during exams.
8.Practice Past Exams or Problems: If possible, work on past exam papers or similar problems. This prepares you for the format and helps identify areas that need more attention.
These tactics can help you stay efficient, organized, and motivated during your studies.
How to Learn a New Language: Simple Tips for Success
Learning a new language can be both fun and challenging. It opens doors to new cultures, experiences, and even career opportunities. If youโre ready to take on this journey, here are some quick tips to help you succeed.
1. Set Clear Goals
Decide why you want to learn the languageโwhether for travel, work, or personal growth. Having a clear goal will keep you motivated and on track.
2. Immerse Yourself
Surround yourself with the language. Watch movies, listen to music, and read in the language as much as you can. This exposure will help you absorb vocabulary and sentence structures naturally.
3. Practice Speaking Early
Start speaking the language from the very beginning, even if itโs just a few words. Practice with native speakers or use language-learning apps that focus on conversation.
4. Be Consistent
Consistency is key. Study a little every day instead of cramming all at once. Daily practice helps keep the language fresh in your mind.
5. Embrace Mistakes
Donโt be afraid to make mistakesโtheyโre part of learning. The more you practice, the better youโll get, so stay positive and persistent.
6. Use Multiple Resources
Try different tools like apps, flashcards, podcasts, and grammar books. Mixing resources keeps learning interesting and well-rounded.
Conclusion
Language learning takes time and effort, but by setting clear goals, practicing daily, and embracing mistakes, youโll improve steadily. Enjoy the process, and soon, youโll be able to communicate confidently in a new language!

Its the official start of the review season but my first day is on Saturday. Plotted the topics for week 1. Tomorrow I'll start answering the handouts. The goal is to start watching the online lectures on Thursday. Will attend classes this weekend too to test the waters on what lectures to attend to. I have to maximize my time now.
I also have to finish my video lectures from another review center to complete my completion phase of the review. The scheduled completion phase should be done last week but I got burnt out last month that's why I'm only starting to bounce back now. My new goal is to finish the completion phase before this year ends.
Since my review era has kicked off, I have to take care of myself more to avoid getting sick.
Some of my health goals starting December are:
eat vegetables everyday
restrict my sugar intake
drink more water (failing miserably on this these days)
16hr intermittent fasting
10k steps per day
try OMAD once a week
Win of the day
finally folded my clothes that I've laundered this weekend
16th day of June 2023
a not so productive day for me. I feel so down lately that my body doesn't cooperate on studying. planned to study tonight but just got the result from one of my exams and I failed it. as much as I want to grind more in order to bounce back, my thoughts are scattered and chaotic so I might just sleep the sadness away. hoping to have a better day tomorrow.
Productivity:
answered theoretical questions on FAR
read estate tax
organized my clothes
Self-care:

29.01.2025๐
Iโm back. I hope. For days I thought about posting again on Tumblr but somehow I didnโt. But as exam season is now and I need to apply for an internship and start working and working a little bit on my bachelor thesis and writing two term papers and learn for my exam (not necessarily in this order). So I try to hold myself accountable and looking at other posts gives me motivation.
Learn for exam (make flash cards)โ
Term paper AI (think about prompt, write exposรฉ, get feedback, write paper)โ
Term paper temple (?)โ
Bachelor thesis (formulate research question, look at R for data analysis, get more dataโ , clarify supervisor)
Apply for internship (write applications)
So now I need to time manage well and prioritize my tasks.
Letโs go and I hope I keep updating you guys. I try to post some pics as well. But today I donโt have any.
Finished my first draft! Yey.
I have send it to away for some control and feedback. Now only one paper and 2 and a half research projects remain. And two weeks (actually one because one week I'm visiting my sister)
I hope the paper is faster because I don't have to write it in english. Although I can write and speak and understand it pretty fine writing an essay for university in english hits different.
Finished for the day and will be probably playing Stardew Valley the whole evening.
Soo. After a week an update about the first week of university.
I couldnโt get a good rhythm for now because last week my family visited me and I spent time with them and showed them around. This week is going to be very full because I have to work one more shift than usual and I have a course which is only every two weeks. But for now Iโm not all caught up with my readings but Iโm working on it.
At the moment Iโm really feeling the fall vibes with the leaves turning. I enjoy a good cup of tea but it makes me sad that it is getting dark so early and with my late lectures Iโm home when it is dark outside. But I try to focus on the colourful leaves and the hot tea and the fairy lights.
