#presenting Dennis Reynolds : A Mood™️
Always feel bad when I see someone say something like "I don't have a disability but I have [something that is a disability but society doesn't treat like one]"
Migraines. Food allergies. GERD. Vision problems. Skin problems. For people that menstruate, conditions that cause irregular and painful cycles. Those are all disabling. Anything that impairs you from functioning or completing a basic life task without accommodation is a disability. Anything that makes you spend days in bed during a flare up is a disability! Not everyone experiences your symptoms and you're not being weak or whiny.
Mental illnesses that people treat as "mainstream" these days like anxiety, depression, or ADHD are still disabilities. Overcoming a massive struggle just to get out of bed, slow down your thoughts, or focus on what you need/want to do is disabling. Starting the day with less mental energy than most people is disabling.
For the migraine people: yes, everyone gets headaches, but no not everyone gets migraines. It's a condition that can be inherited in which our nerves are literally wired differently and more sensitive than someone who doesn't get migraines.
For the food allergy and digestive disorder people: if you eat something your body can't tolerate, you become sick. Doesn't matter if it's a trip to the ER or skin irritation for a few hours, that's a negative response in your body. Going hungry at social events because you can't eat anything, that's not something you just have to grin and bear. Prohibitively expensive or hard-to-find accessible food. Most people have the privilege of not worrying about eating.
For people with abnormal menstrual cycles: you don't have to suck it up because "lots of people get periods, no one likes them, but they all deal with it." Majority of people who get periods don't spend days in bed with debilitating pain or nausea. Your heightened struggle is real. Going months between cycles can increase your risk of health conditions down the line, and it's good to speak to a gynecologist if you have access to one.
If you are feeling discomfort on a regular basis in any part of your body, or if you usually feel unwell after eating, that isn't normal and you deserve medical attention and support
Just crying and thinking about how Jeff barely had any love or comfort growing up but the second he gets the tiniest ounce from the study group, he's already ready to share it with the world because how can you keep such a life-changing feeling to yourself.
"If I were him and I missed out on you guys, I'd be sitting in that classroom, watching, wondering. So how can I exclude someone from something that I'm so lucky to have."

tried screen recording mythic quest but it looked a little weird :// what do yall think
This line proves why timepetals works so well
Martha thought like me, like most of us in this situation, let's be honest. She's sharing a bed inches away from a man who traveled back in time to show her Shakespeare. This could be read as romantic.
But The Doctor has always been oblivious to the impact he has on others.
So I'm not going to say Rose wouldn't think like Martha, or wouldn't wish for something more.
But Rose wouldn't act like Martha because Rose would see The Doctor is troubled so she'd try and help him find a solution. She'd put him first.
And that's how their love story can seem as if it's put on hold, how they can both be focused on the problems first.
Because their love speaks through everything they do, every action and thought is out of love for the other.
How Martha felt a little led on isn't selfish, it's natural. But what Rose does is selfless.
For every man in your camp, there are thousands somewhere in the West Indies living under the same yoke, chained in fields, pressed on ships, sold into indenture. When they see a sitting governor protected by His Majesty’s Navy, deposed by an alliance of pirates and slaves, how many consider joining that fight? How many thousands of men will flock to Nassau, join your ranks, and help you defend it?
HELP ME I HYPERFIXATED ON THE OLD ASSHOLES 😭 Imagine liking Rand Ridley ahahahahahahahahahahaha TT
Okay here's my silly Inside Job art dump
Sometimes, your favorite character is someone who gives you joy by daydreaming of yourself running him over
(oh yeh the dipshit drawing is inspired by that one good omens scene)
I hate to keep being so salty about Moffat’s era b/c RTD’s first era did have some things I didn’t like but man RTD was a freaking genius at weaving so much emotion and heart into his stories while still keeping it sci-fi
I mean we had arcs for soooo many characters it’s actually kind of crazy when you think about it, and I’m not just talking about Nine, Ten/Tentoo, Rose, Martha and Donna
The companions families as well–positive and negative b/c I’m still not over how difficult it must have been for Martha’s family after their year with the Master. But Jackie and Pete had their happily ever after (and a baby), Mickey grew so much, Sylvia seemed to have a bit of a change of heart regarding Donna at the end, Wilf was fabulously Wilf (we saw their families so many times on screen!!)
Like think about how wild it is that I know Mickey was raised by his gran, I remember Martha warning her brother Leo and he was walking with a gf/wife/partner? pushing a baby stroller, Martha’s dad had a gf who I think was called Annalise and there was drama about that cheating scandal…I know so much about characters that aren’t really the main companions in comparison to, for example, Amy and Rory
We had arcs for “minor” characters like Cassandra, Harriet Jones, Adam, The Face of Boe, the Slitheen that took over Margaret, even Jake from Pete’s World
We had a connection between Gwyneth and Gwen with the explanation as to why they look the same, same for the explanation as to why Tosh was there in S1
We had what was essentially like an origin story for the Ood in S4 when they had first been introduced in S2
Jack had his own spinoff, I haven’t watched Classic Who but Sarah Jane was incredible in what I’ve seen of her own spinoff too
Even though there’s some things I don’t like about Journey’s End the reason it was so exciting to see was b/c of the culmination of so many characters that had so much backstory coming together. Come on we even had a reference to Mr. Copper from the “Voyage of the Damned” special since he funded the Sub-Wave Network! Incredible, just incredible.
I can never quite get over how much Nine tried to protect Rose. I don’t just mean keeping her out of physical danger, but also mentally and emotionally he tried to make her feel as safe and secure as possible by not letting on just how scary things truly were at times.
It hits me so hard every single time I see Nine’s demeanour change from “the delta wave is either not going to work or it’s going to wipe out the entirety of Earth along with it” to “Rose Tyler you’re a genius!” because in that moment he was clearly thinking about exactly how to break the news to Rose and he decided to lie and try to be as upbeat and enthusiastic as possible so she didn’t freak out and put herself in danger to help him. He put on a whole act, pretending that he had a plan and that all he needed was Rose to step into the TARDIS and wait for him, and he’s bouncing around and smiling the entire time.
And then he leaves the TARDIS, and the act drops immediately and it is one of THE most hard-hitting scenes in Doctor Who history, the way he just turns around and sends her home.
But also it’s when he regenerates and even though regenerating hurts because to him he still feels like he’s dying, he makes sure to crack jokes the entire time just so Rose feels comfortable and assured, and isn’t too scared by what’s happening in front of her.
Or it’s in Father’s Day when he knows the only way to save the planet is for Pete Tyler to die, but he tries desperately to find a different solution so Rose doesn’t have to go through seeing her dad die again, despite the fact that Nine and Rose had fallen out anyway because Rose had caused the entire mess in the first place.
Just... Nine protecting Rose from any emotional distress along with actual physical danger is exactly why their relationship is so so beautiful. Tenrose will always be my favourite pairing but I think ninerose is just as superior in its own way and I love it to death. Nine was so caring and compassionate towards her, even if he didn’t outwardly show it as much as Ten did. I would even go so far as to say that Nine was the most caring out of all the other Doctors. He was at his peak in emotional vulnerability, desperate not to be alone unlike post-Rose Ten, but hadn’t quite been worn down enough to switch off his feelings like Eleven. He just cared so much and GOD I miss Christopher Eccleston.
I'm currently rewatching the Rose Tyler era of Doctor Who and all my timepetals feelings are back
Fools fight over who's better between ninerose and tenrose when you can't have one without the other!!
Ninerose was the era of falling in love, it was banter and teasing, and it was mostly focused on the two of them, so it really made it so intimate and special. You see firsthand the impact both had on each other, with Nine's character development. How he doesn't do family but alters the universe to keep Rose's father alive. How he says he doesn't care about idiot Rickey Mickey but he'd invite him on the TARDIS so he can look after her.
You see how they hold each other close to their heart, how they lose themselves in each other's presence. Holding each other's gaze.
Tenrose is an already established love but now with a totally new face, so both of them pulled back a little for the sake of the other. You get such a shyer love, with a lot of physical touch but unfinished sentences. You get promises. Stolen glances.
The way Ten says "and it is gonna be...fantastic" on the first day of his regeneration because he wanted to reassure Rose that nothing much changed.
The way on that same day, she invites him over for a family Christmas dinner, fully accepting him.
The way he asks her on where to go next and gets lost in her expression, still processing the pure joy she has to be traveling with him, that she truly doesn't mind. That he didn't lose her.
And this dynamic works so well because we had ninerose before.
"Just tell her... tell her... oh she knows."
"They ruined Britta" by what, fleshing her out? I'm so sick of this take being used anytime Britta is shown as flawed. She's an activist because she's super opinionated and she stands up for what she believes in, and that's her strength as well as her biggest flaw because she also gets caught up in her own perception of the world and fails to factor in other people's thoughts and needs (like when she paid the deaf girl to spoil Abed his book). She gets caught up in her jokes, gets caught up in her need to "treat" her friends, gets caught up in proving she's right. And sometimes she's right and she succeeds, sometimes she takes it too far and hurts people. It's her coping mechanism after having had to run away and to prove herself to everyone. She wanted, no, needed, people to see her succeed so badly, she sometimes fell into self-centeredness, even when her intentions are never malign.
So no, she didn't necessarily get ruined, it always made sense for her arc and she's a much more relatable character that way.
hot take this is how Jeff Winger did his lawyerly things and STILL how he grades papers
My 2022 rewind of all my fandoms and favorite stuff I've seen this year ! I'm definitely not an editor but I love keeping track in such a fun way.

Suggestive fanart of Jeff/Abed ahead. Just a double precaution
Oof I'm being super careful with posting this here, it's my first time ever attempting such a theme but I'm so proud of it actually, idk what came over me lmaoo
So uhhh, Merry Christmas, here's porn 😭
I NEED THEM IN THE SAME ROOM TOGETHER
Random thought that popped in my brain but the way the most two iconic episodes for Jeff/Abed (Communication Studies and Critical Film Studies) are both movie related episodes where Jeff just fully fkn engages in ?? People get stuck on how Trobed have their dreamatorium (and I obvs love that for them) but like Jeff too AGH !!
It's really interesting to see how Trobed relate to each other in a more neurodivergent way, and so they use a more creative mindspace, but when Abed is with Jeff, Jeff kind of plays the role of the bridge between fiction and reality and so you get more open spaces (ie. him renting an entire diner for the bday party)
That way, both experiences are special and unique on their own, and both are so so cool to explore.
The use of Studies in both titles is also interesting to me, because that's now a space where both Jeff and Abed can learn in. It's just so comforting and safe?? Love me some healthy dynamics.
.......can we talk about jabed
YES ANYTIME you can DM me, spam your thoughts, anything ! If I take a day to respond, I'm just focused on finals rn but I'll always always respond 💕
Inspired by that one Luca promotion picture
I choose to believe that after Abed moved to LA Jeff sent him a text saying "I'm sorry for the way I've been treating you, and hopefully by the next time I see you I'll know how to say this in person, because I'm going to work on my mental health issues and make sure I never take them out on you again" and if the movie shows him acting to the contrary of this promise I choose to believe I can reach through the screen and shoot him 😊
is it any wonder that everytime troy’s hurt, he calls out for abed? after all, abed’s the first one who looked at troy and said “i see your vulnerability and i love what i see.” abed’s the first one who said “i know you don’t want to be strong, and i know you don’t yet have the strength not to be.” and finally, abed’s the one who told troy “when you’re ready, let me be strong, let yourself be delicate, and you will see your beauty in us.”
Thinking about s2 ep3 where Jeff has his whole freak out over cholesterol and Duncan is the one to come up after class to him and check up on him.
"Mind if I ask what happened in class today?"
It's so simple but Duncan clearly noticed something was wrong and it shows how their friendship is genuine. I seriously wish we saw more of it because while horny loser Duncan is hilarious, he also deeply cares about his friends and can give genuinely good advice.
"While claiming to have no religion, you were actually devoutly worshipping yourself. And now that your God has high cholesterol, you're trying to kick Pierce's in the balls."
And it's so rare to see people worry about Jeff because he always convinces people that he's got it, so people brush it off. But Duncan has been a stable support for Jeff since the pilot when he cared enough to teach Jeff a lesson.
He sees through Jeff's bullshit but he also deeply respects him.

I have this dream for the community movie where it ends, and the end credits start rolling and then suddenly the screen goes dark. And then after a few beats of silence we hear Danny Pudi as Abed Nadir saying “Have you ever seen Hearts of Darkness? Way better than Apocalypse Now.” And the crowd (because in my dream I’m watching it with a crowd of community fans) goes wild and we get at least 120 minutes of a behind the scenes movie.
As per my username, my favorite Community line ever is in the finale when Jeff says "I'm sort of a hero that way" because it's slightly cocky and perfectly Jeff; it's so simple yet SO impactful and ties the entire show so beautifully.
Jeff starts his life as a narcissist, thinking he's cool and powerful cuz he can fool the juridical system by faking his degree and getting away with it. It's what he tells his father about himself after decades of not seeing him because that's what Jeff deems to be the prideful accomplishment of his life.
But after 6 seasons, Jeff learns that being a hero is simply living everyday. It doesn't take big achievements, he doesn't need to dazzle anybody to feel seen. He doesn't need to write "You're special" on his bathroom mirror and stare at it until he believes it.
He's simply a hero for letting people into his life and learning how to love others. How to love himself. How to continue pushing forward in life.
And it's so simple. Because like Jeff said once, the truth isn't life-shattering. It's painfully obvious.
It's simply living life. And that makes his entire story so deeply relatable.
Because in the end, we're all like Greendale students. Sucky people working on ourselves to be less sucky.
Friends can't carry you, they are there to pick you up and support you but you need to walk your own path. This takes time and it never gets perfect, never gets predictable. But we can still be okay. Because we’re all afraid of the same thing. So none of us is ever actually alone.
Jeff realises that he does indeed have tools to face anything the future throws at him. It's a newly found confidence he can now use as his life ring buoy. He can slowly learn to trust himself and his own capacities again. Not be dependent on others.
Jeff is a hero for having gained those tools. For having worked so hard on himself.
And we're heroes for that too.
Just a quick smth smth because they're so goofy and sappy and in love
Did you guys notice how Jeff entered the shop already looking at Abed and immediately pulled a chair to sit next to him.
Did you guys notice how Abed wasn't surprised and started opening up.
Did you guys notice that both of them were shocked to see anybody else in the shop and how the others all had yogurt in their hands because that's what they came in for.
But Jeff came for Abed. Because he knows his comfort spaces and where he'd be to cool down. And the easiness they both fell into shows that they've done this multiple times.
Can't move on from how Abed keeps track of every classic winger comeback, they were both each other's biggest fan even for all the smallest things
The way at first they both idolized and worshipped each other until they learned that the other is just as scared as they are, and the worshipping turns to admiration and respect and understanding and true friendship
I'm so deeply obsessed with my wallpaper
